Halo community has shrunk alot, and their pro scene is barely living, Modern Warfare 1 came out and kinda stole the thunder away from Halo in the minds of the casual console FPS gamer.
In the pro scene however SC2 has taken a huge chunk of MLGs time, MLG is the biggest Halo-esque esports event, outside of a few rare cases its the only thing they have.
So no wonder some of them may resent SC2, where MLG is "beneath" GSL, Dreamhack, IPL even and plenty of other tournaments. Make no mistake, they dont want to be us, they do not want to listen to SNSD or check out Nadas body, but they do envy how big SC2 is right now, and their own game is being shunned and basically forgotten about. Call of Duty stole the casuals while SC2 stole MLG, add to the fact that Bungie the creators behind Halo games are done with Halo, chances are that the franchise will severly diminish in quality.
i honestly think it's suicide to any E-Sport to have any kind of attack on SC2 and the community right now. i don't think it helped their case in anyway by doing so, they're trying to bring up their community by trash talking.

SC2 players thrive on trash talking btw
Competition breeds excellence.
Where's the desire to grow without the King to usurp?
Like they said, Halo community feels defeated that "their" league has been stolen and they've also been complacent with their massive dominance over MLG.
That's what they videos are for, they can dress better than us so they can also be the best game of MLG. That's the "message' they want to send to the Halo community.

No, the videos is about how the Halo community needs to learn to stand on its own and not be controled by MLG. They talk about how they need to be as passionate, "nerdy" and creative as the SC2 community and start making content, forums etc. for the love of the game and not just sit and wait for what MLG will do.
The whole thing is about shaking up the community. In two videos with over 2 h of debate and constructive critism over its own community compared to SC2 and other gaming communitys, they joke around for 5-8 min about style and swagger compared to SC2.
This is apparently a deadly sin according to some. This time TL has even managed to be more drama llama than Reddit.

There's a difference between waiting for MLG to make a move and forcing MLG to make a move.
Halo wouldn't have success outside of their own events/MLG because it is a console FPS. They do want to emulate SC2 community, but also want to maintain their own flavor. Being passionate, "nerdy" and creative isn't SC2 exclusive and SC2 shouldn't be credited for those ideas (despite using them successfully).
It was posted earlier, but people should watch this:
They talk about how Halo is shrinking, and the reasons for it. Essentially their community can't sustain itself without MLG supporting it, and they are trying to understand how to save the community.
PLEASE watch this whole video, looking at the comments it is quite clear that you all watched the first 5 minutes then stopped at that. The point of the video can be summed up with this comment by DMaq
We talk about Halo fans being stylish, maybe y'all motherfxckers are a little too stylish. You need to start seeing what is happening with the community and getting involved. Be a little more nerdy, because we need you.
I may be a bit biased because I grew up with Halo 1 & 2, playing and watching it religiously, but this doesn't sound to me like they are ripping on Starcraft at all, in fact this is stemming from them wanting to be even half as good as the Starcraft community. They want the Halo community to be better, they need to respect the people within the community and step up and try and do things like Barcraft.
Edit: Go to 39:47 on the video, Nexy has the Zerg symbol on his astro's, would someone who hates a game get that on his gear? I think not
From the way they make it sound, the Halo community needs to take some lessons from the fighting game community. Grassroots style growth from year to year even without any sponsors or new games. If you rely on MLG for your community, and something bigger comes along for MLG to support... this is where you find yourself.
I do like that they're going to actively try to do something about it. honestly, facebook is godlike for organizing local communities for this kind of stuff.
Because this is relevant to the topic of discussion, and there has been a lot of discussion about fighting games and their role in the "greater eSports scene" instead of being insular the way they are right now, a post was recently posted on Shoryuken (a site that some can consider to be the TeamLiquid of the FGC) about their involvement in eSports tournaments such as MLG, IPL, etc.
It's sparked a good amount of discussion on Twitter both among the SC2 community and the FGC. I was wondering what everyone has to say about it?
Personally, I don't know enough about MLG beforehand to know whether or not some of the claims they make are correct. I do follow EVO every year, and on a pure production quality and interest standpoint, there's nothing stopping the FGC from succeeding in eSports. Every time I go on Twitter these days, I see more SC2 people talking about fighting games, and I see more prominent fighting game players talking about SC2 events. There's bleeding between the scenes already, but something is stopping it from going the full length.

The video in the OP is just for lols.
"Can't hate on Starcraft cause you know you're going to lose, that's a fact."
Haha, they may be not that much of idiots.
I understand they want to shake up their community but I don't think hatin' on other games is the way to do it. Comparison to other games is fine, I'm sure they could learn a thing or two from both the BW and SC2 scene.. but I understand that if it was the SC2 scene that was under threat I would be anxiously angry as well.

It's not because it is a console fps, it's because they've been babied by mlg for too long. If this was in the halo 2 or 1 days it wouldnt die if mlg dropped it.
Yeah, they don't really seem to be talking about anything at all. It's the definition of just running your mouth, and their opinion isn't really drawing from anything. They even go so far as to say they are just shitting on Starcraft in order to get Halo fans to step up (????), so this makes even less sense to me. Shouldn't you be celebrating the dedication of Starcraft players, whether they are nerdy or have style is irrelevant, instead of shitting on them and then saying that this will somehow inspire Halo fans?
In fact, my main take away is that they even know about our players seems like a win for me. If they want to troll, which this really seems to be, then go ahead. But, we're taking over their games and we're doing it because it is a better viewing experience and because our fanbase is larger and more passionate.
I don't even dislike Halo, I just love SC2 way more and find it way more enjoyable. I wish the best for them, I think they need to investigate their tactics for growth here.

Making fun of a fanbase in order to encourage their own fanbase seems counter the idea of giving constructive criticism. They could have just skipped that segment entirely, or simply just talked about how cool Halo guys were without jabbing so much at Starcraft. Obviously they are just trying to stir the pot and get views, but its all a little silly and distracting from what are otherwise good points.

Later on in the video, 15 mins ish, they say halo fans should be more like the nerd ballers on the sc2 side and get involved. They praise sc2 for most of the 50 mins and use it as an example for success.
