Him leaving Korea was very strange, but IF this is true, then Idra handled it like a pro. I'm not saying your right, I'm saying its plausible, 25%-35% it was a factor. Yeah its pure speculation. Its all obviously circumstantial. However I just look at EG forcing Incontrol to quit SotG which (in SC2) is why he is well known. His has middling results for a top level gamer. No disrespect to Incontrol. I love the guy. Where have you heard/seen this SotG and Incontrol news? This wa a while ago, when inside the game came out Incontrol left SoTG and said it was because he didn't have time. EG later came out and said they didn't want him on sotg because it competed with inside the game. He is now back on sotg. That wasn't why. JP was getting a sponsor for the show which happened to be Complexity and it would have required him to have Soundblaster logos all over, which is a direct competitor with SteelSeries. iNcontrol being a co-host obviously couldn't be anymore because an EG player promoting a sponsors direct competitor causes serious issue with the sponsor and when legal issues come into play that's where shit gets nasty. JP didn't go through with it anymore which is why iNcontroL can be on the show. Link in case you think I'm making up: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=145494¤tpage=1287#25729

Drama for the sake of Drama...
Thats how TL feels recently. And on topic, I don't think its true idra has said numerous times his reasons for leaving.

Idra leaves Korea for NASL, which is better and esay money than GSL at that moment. He also participate and win IPL easily after he went back.
Pros have to live and make money to pay rent and buy coffee as normal person, nth special.

And if they would've forced him.. well it turned out to be great didn't it? Well maybe not skill-wise but look at the other things he is doing/has done now. How on earth could someone stay in Korea for -3 years. On topic: I seriously doubt this is the truth. GOMTV panders to foreigners so this would be counter-intuitive. He obviously meant 3 years give or take. As in a little below or above 3 years.
Also I doubt its because of the headset. Koreans said it best. He left for easy peasy money, which he managed to not get none of.

Are you fucking kidding me? They made him leave because of a headset? He's wearing a damn coat covering up all the sponsors on his team jersey, but he is forced to leave Korea because he can't wear his sponsor's headset... Yeah, that makes sense...
Idra left Korea because at the time the two scenes were still rather isolated and the opportunity for Idra to win big in the foreign scene was quite good. Things have changed as Koreans now play in foreign tournaments.
Did you really think this is a possibility? You know players don't wear their sponsors headsets on stage at MLG too right? And pretty much every other tournament.

Actually it isn't that expensive to begin with... And certainly not for a company with backing like EG has. It kind of makes sense to me.

Awesome speculation. I really like the part where you make extraordinary claims without evidence.
Stop being a drama-whore. It's absolutely idiotic.

Worst conspiracy theory ever.

Idra going back to NA made sense at the time
Korea only has GSL which is the most difficult tournament to play in SC2
the foreign scene had a boat load of tournaments going on and NASL 1 that was going to be launched. potential to win tournaments and make money was supposed to be much more accessible for Idra.
who knew Idra's skill progression would regress so quickly that his only notable achievement was winning IPL 1 which really isn't that great considering it was a NA invite only tournament

Either there is a massive conspiracy and both EG and Idra are lying or we should take Idra's statement at face value when he says that he left because there were a lot more tournament opportunities outside of Korea.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories.
