I have a Razer Marauder keyboard, it glows and has pretty big spaces in between the keys. So about three days ago, I was surfing TL like usual before I go to sleep, when I see something on my keyboard, All the lights in the room were off, so the the only light was the keyboard and my monitor, so i look down, and there he is, eating some sticky stuff on the delete key, so my immediate reaction was to try to kill him, but when my hand was going towards him he ran in one of the spaces under the key.
and whats even worse, is i think he had BABIES, there are a bunch of super little cockroach babies running around by my keyboard, and inside it.
Im pretty sure hes eating the stuff on my keyboard tho, all the sticky stuff on the delete key, the f12 key, and the screen lock key is completely gone.
So should i them be? I mean, they are cleaning it up and eating all the stuff and food inside it.
Or should i kill them? and if i choose that option, How would i kill them? Bug killer? or what?
Ok that sound kind of weird... What you could try (not very familiar with Razer Marauder) is remove all the keys from your keyboard if it lets you do that and try and clean it carefully. If that doesn't work I'd suggest you go to the store and ask for some bug poison that isn't dangerous for your own health or the hardware.
Unplug the keyboard, then dip it in isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), preferably with an alcohol content above 70%. Then take apart the keyboard and clean out the dead bugs. If you can't do that, just use a lot of q-tips to clean it and a lot more rubbing alcohol.

This, roaches don't eat alot and are relatively harmless unless they enter an oriface. Get rid of the keyboard, but if you dont want to, do what they other guy said about submerging it.
You'll have to get rid of the keyboard, like it or not. It's already infested by the cockroach, and they just won't die unless you get rid of their source and the roaches altogether.
Cockroach in your keyboard?... Either parts of the US are more third-world than I thought, or you have bad hygiene, or you're just unlucky. I think all the good puns have already been used up as well, so I'm not gonna try. Sad thing is, even if you nuked your keyboard they'd still be there.
You could call the Immortal Exterminators though, they just got better I hear.
You know, cockroaches are fucking disgusting. And the idea of just sitting there, playing a game, splitting your marines or whatever, and suddenly this huge gross black things crawls up your arm...

Ugh, you just scarred me for life.
He says he lives in Hawaii and according to him they are everywhere.
1. Get some Boric Acid Powder (They are really good at killing cockroaches) 2. Dust it between your keys 3. Leave it untouched for a few days 4. vacuum/use compressed air w/e to get all dirty stuff out of your keyboard
Why not simply unscrew the keyboard, open it up. Make sure you have anti-cockroach spray at hand before you finally open it. Kill the cockroaches and remove every trace of 'em before closing it back again. Perhaps you could fix some of your keys while you're at it.
Get rid of the keyboard and then clean your house up if you can, of course it's Hawaii so it may be a lost cause. Alternatively, just mash all your keys as fast and hard as possible to crush the cockroaches or make them run onto your arms
lol seriously? Put the keyboard into your shower or bathtub (if you have such things but after what I've read here i doubt it anyway..) and turn on the water. Secondly get rid of that keyboard, it's infected.

Please do!
Anyhow, if you have cockroaches inside your keyboard you need to clean your house, else they wont even be there. If you need to clean your house, that will mean there are many more bugs walking around inside your house.
ok ill give you some steps how to take care of this, 1) Buy gasoline 2) Take keyboard outside 3) Pour gasoline on keyboard 4) Throw a match on the keyboard and listen to all the hissing 5) Proceed to go back into house 6) Pour gasoline all over room, since most likely at this point your room is infested 7) Throw a match onto gasoline poured on carpet 8) Call fire department assuming you have gotten out of the house in time 9) Buy new keyboard
Roaches in your keyboard will die of starvation eventualy. Then you can play withouth worries and listen to that gosu keyboard clicking noise when your keys crush they dry bodies
Since all the good StarCraft puns have already been used, I'll just say that this is absolutely hilarious. I hope it's true, though I have a feeling it isn't.
Wait so do you actually play and use your computer while the roaches are in your keyboard still...? Oh my god thats so scary what if your in like an intense game and the roach runs under your key for producing units and you cant do your command! This is terrible! Not to mention fucking disgusting.

This kind of reminds me of those old Lucas Arts games! :D (Zack McKracken, Monkey island and so on)
Also for the OP.. Did you make this thread using the keyboard with the roaches?
Dude i dont want to offend you but you have to clean your fucking house.....ffs invest some time and money in cleaning and not in overpriced hardware...
Try using a blow dryer since that heat will make them run out right away. Keep moving the blow dryer so the plastic doesn't get too hot, but do it close to the keyboard. Good luck.
Man, that's one crazy place to live. But you definitely don't want cockroaches living in your keyboard. They have been known to transmit some nasty things you don't want like salmonella, cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis, to name a few. You definitely don't want any of those. Also, they can trigger allergic reactions, so probably want to get them out for sure.
Anybody telling him to go clean his house has never lived in Hawaii before. I lived there for about 4 years and cockroaches are just something you get used to, just like how if you have family who leave the front or back door open during the summer pretty much anywhere you live you get used to house flies. Although I must admit I never had one inside a keyboard. I can understand though if you eat over your keyboard a lot and haven't cleaned it.
Just make moar marauders. In all seriousness though, dust it with some boric acid/submerg it in alcohol then take it apart, clean it out, put it back together again and let it dry before using. And maybe you should invest in a pet raven or two to make sure they don't burrow back in
In my honest opinion, I would throw the keyboard out. They say that if you ever see a cockroach, you should never step on it, because you will have eggs seep onto the bottom of your shoes, and you will notice baby cockroaches in not too long of time in the near future. The same applies for your keyboard - I would throw it out, either call an exterminator, or find a way to safely fumigate your room. I would not try to salvage the keyboard, even if you lose money doing it. It will just make you live in fear and paranoia thinking they will come back.

if this is real, i would throw the keyboard out and get a new one. check room for roach nests or whatever you call them. i thought marauders counter roaches. guess i was wrong ;(

Thread won.
Really err interesting problem. I like the freezer idea, just put the keyboard in a plastic bad or something before hand to keep them from spreading to any other food.

It might not be a bad idea to email Razer with pics and get help on how you can take ur keyboard apart to clean...
"urghh.......help me out! there is a roache burrowing INSIDE my marauder, wtf can I do now!?"

"Hey Rick!" "Yeah?" "You play StarCraft II, right? You know, the guys who've got a peripheral set sponsored?" "Yeah, what about them?" "Check this guys problem out." *shows him the email*

I took a hepatitis test and passed with a 'B'. Seriously though remove keys take out "Kerrigan" and clean the piss out of it. And feed Kerrigan to a spider please.... Bugs are gross, spiders are cool.
I heard that the counter to bug-type pokemon is poison attacks.
But cockroaches are fairly large, and I can't imagine how one would get into your keyboard... that's almost like saying "I discovered a rat living in my keyboard". It's just kind of hard to grasp an entire roach being able to fit in between the cracks in the keys. If it were ants, or something gross like maggots, I could see it conceivably happening, but roaches?
You know, you could just use a screwdriver to pop the keys out and then take your keyboard outside and just shake the roaches out of it.
If you do, somehow, have a rat living in your keyboard, you can lure it out with limburger cheese, because it has a powerful scent.
If you discover a colony of feral cats living in your keyboard, call 911.
You should have walled off - this thing just waltzed into your keyboard, dropped a hatch and started producing roach eggs? Why do you still even have this keyboard? This is hideous.
So to summarize - he has burrow, tunneling claws, new roaches hatching and creep tumors on your enter, f12 and delete keys? you only have 1 marauder? time to gg out, get a new keyboard (I'd go for razer immortal to surely avoid this problem in the future) and work on your macro mechanics (don't forget to clean at least once a month and destroy those tumors as soon as they spawn)
I stopped at page 2... but honestly guys there are a lot of cockroaches in Hawaii... a lot... barring the resorts.... hawaii very ghetto and slummy... and no matter how clean your place is, they will invade
a solid recommendation and a very truthful one is to buy a gecko and let it have free roam of your house.... more than one preferably - but this will take care of your cockroach problem.
Look at your keyboard, now back to mine, now back to yours, now back to mine. Thankfully it is not mine, but if you started living in Hawaii then yours too could be infested by zerg.
Look down, look up
What are you looking at, my maurader keyboard which is covered in creep. Look again, the roaches have bred! Anythings possible when you live in Hawaii, I have a pet Kerrigan.
There are hundres of different types of cockroaches... not all of them are the huge hissing ones they always have in the movies. I remember being in Florida on spring break, and they are all over the place down there too, some big, some small.

HAHA WP WP
So about that keyboard, prob get a new one. Maybe invest in some bug repellant...?
Lol at the people surprised at a roach actually being able to fit in a keyboard. You'd be surprised what they can fit in, regardless of their size. They're the longest living species for a reason.
ummm throw away they keyboard immediatley if it had babies, you will be infested, no zerg pun intended. seriously, get it out of your house. why even wait three days?!
i think im gonna keep him i see no harm, its like a free cleaner and every once in a while ill just shake the keyboard over the garbage to get his shit out
why is it gross? its just a creature trying to live, what if you were a cockroach? Would u want me to put you ina freezer, pour alcohal, and burn you by fire? like you guys are suggesting? And show some compassion ._.

Its pretty common if you've worked with computers before. Cockroaches (insects in general really) seems to really like hiding inside power supplies, laptops, routers, and LED backlit keyboards where it gets nice and warm.
Regardless of hygiene (in this case it probably is a case of bad hygiene since the OP got Cheetos dust all over his gear), its fairly common. I personally think its better dealing with cockroaches (bag and spray really) than computers owned by chain smokers.
Lol at the people suggesting that he should burn them... Do hellions really counter roaches well? + Show Spoiler +
NO!
The only solution is to shower, go to the airport without clothes and buy a ticket to let say sweden where i in my 22 years of living never have seen any roach. Why no clothes you might ask... Well if you managed to let roaches breed inside your keyboard i bet your hygine is pretty bad and people dont like stinky people. Just imagine sitting next to someone on a plane that stink like hell and have roaches wandering around in their hair and everything.
U could always nuke the maruder, to get rid from the roaches.
Wait...
Shat. Wikipedia says that they can resist the radiaton up to 6-15 time radiaton COMPARED TO THEIR SIZE ( so many times more i guess.) Ah.. After nucking they would just laugh at u and ur destroyed keyboard as they live whitout heads and continue the creep spread and expoing. Damn those pesky things!
