Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Any posts made after my post [page 233] not addressing the changes in this patch directly and containting flames or general balance whine will get banned for at least a week. ~Nyovne

It wasn't. They nerfed it because they decreased the cost of Overseer by 1/2. Mass Overseer contaminate would be a really viable strat if they didn't increase the cost.

It is to mitigate the amount contaminate, since overseer is much cheaper now.

Pretty awesome patch actually, the only thing I would say is the helion nerf might be a slight overreaction... can't wait to see some more hunter seeker action!

to give them plus five effing damage (even if only against light)? And for only 150/150 at that? It's still a good deal, you just can't bank on it winning you the game early on anymore since you have to research +attack to 2-shot workers.

Which is why most of my comments were geared toward TvT, most of the Protoss changes were heavily praised (I only disagreed with the WP buff) and the Zerg changes were considered unnecessary, in other words I'm fairly neutral on the Zerg changes.

I really don't think BF is totally out though... it jsut won't be the go-to strategy, but it can still be mixed in. +5 vs. light, and 3 shotting drones is still very very decent harass. Before, you could not screw up once BFH was in your base... now you have a chance.

Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

I never saw early blink all-ins to be an issue, it's the superb mobility and easy retention of the unit that I think is a bit ridiculous. They don't need to nerf the research time, the need to nerf blink cooldown time

I really really hope more pros start using Hunter Seeker Missile, that would be awesome. Also BFH nerf is expected but seems like maybe a little much. The fact the workers are still 3 shotted makes me think that people really aren't going to research it at all now. I'm glad that they just nerfed the upgrade not the unit though, so we'll still see hellions unlike what happened to the reaper.

Ravens have become a ricidulously good unit.

If you told BW players two years ago that Terran was going to get Shuttle+Reaver+Defiler in one unit, no Zerg/Toss players would have switched.

EDIT: Also, Immortals scare the hell out of me now... Time to play ZvP without Roaches.

Seems like a pretty good patch overall. Of course only time will tell whether the buffs and nerfs were too much or not enough.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

And as for the ultra production buff, I think it'll be nice, though minor. When they cost 70 seconds, you essentially couldn't remax with them, but you'd never get the tech before you were maxed anyway, so you basically never got them. At 55, it's still a long wait, but much more viable.
