Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. The only thing that totally puzzles me is the rax nerf. Since when was anyone complaining about rax build time? Besides Terran NEEDS that first rax to hold off early pressure. Terran has the hardest time building army in the early game. There's no reason to make it even more difficult. u cant be serious unless you're facing a 1-base all-in there is no way that terran has the hardest time building army in the early game. protoss and zerg need to build an economy for a macro game whereas terran can balance economy and army more easily thanks to you guessed it MULEs. and in the super early game, go 2 rax at 11 and you'll have a shitton of marines way before zerg and protoss can make an army that could possibly attack ur ramp and beat them. i dont see how terran has the hardest time making an army early game. which is why no one goes 2 rax at 11 except for pressure; there's a timing window where your roflman ball will roll over any army that tries to take you on in the open. | ||

Honestly, upon reflection, this patch seems like another knee-jerk reaction to qq. Protoss deserved the Immortal and Prism buffs. Blink, Infestor, Rax, nerfs are totally unnecessary. Hellion is questionable. I swear - they just don't give the community enough time to solve the strats in the game. Infestors were just starting to get countered more and more and now they're nerfed. Blink stalkers are being solved by Zergs and they're getting nerfed. I haven't seen devastating hellion play in some time - yet here's a nerf. Really annoying the more I think about it. | ||

I know this will likely never happen, but am I the only one who thinks they should make pylons only buildable within a energy range of a nexus or other pylon? (this would give nexus's energy fields) I think that would solve the majority of 4 gate issues, both in PVP and elsewhere without actually nerfing any units. It would make the warp prism actually used for what it was intended (forward/mobile warp ins aggression) instead of the occasional drop. Especially since it isnt made of glass anymore. The prism is never used because its just as easy to put down a pylon and not go robo tech to be aggressive. If you forced robo for agressive warp ins then it would change things dramatically in PVP. You could still 4gate, but would have to walk units across the map like everyone else (without a warp prism). Thoughts? | ||
