Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Any posts made after my post [page 233] not addressing the changes in this patch directly and containting flames or general balance whine will get banned for at least a week. ~Nyovne There is way too much flaming in this thread right now. -1 vision range to high ground + Blink research nerf....NO ONE WILL GO BLINK ANYMORE. It's useless, I'm guessing a single forcefield on ramp will completely counter Blink stalkers and with the immortal buff no one will even bother. Every single game will be 4 gate into colossus , no variety. It's stupid and un-entertaining. 4 gate v 4 gate was at least exciting , this is going to be sooo boring... The ghost is still OP The infestor is still OP Blizzard didn't address the problems all, I don't know what to say. | ||

I still don't think that 5 seconds is going to have monumental changes to any match-up and I doubt if it makes the actual patch. I am guessing this is to combat bunker pressures against Z, we'll have to wait to see what it actually means though. | ||

This doesn't matter, you will just get your worker killed 5 seconds later and not see anything, all this does is change EVERY single Terran timing. I am fine with every terran change (even happy about the hellion change) but this seems unneeded. | ||

General Unit vision up ramps has been reduced by 1. A good change for PvP and in general. PROTOSS Immortal Attack range increased from 5 to 6. An unnecessary change but some would probably be happy with it. Mothership Acceleration increased from 0.3 to 1.375. The Mothership’s Cloaking Field no longer cloaks all units instantaneously, but rather adds units to the cloak field over time (maximum of 25 per second). This should alleviate “Mothership Lag” issue when a Mothership comes online. I don't think this would affect mothership usage at high-levels but a nice change nonetheless. Stalker Blink research time increased from 110 to 140. This is an interesting change but I fear it just makes Robo builds much stronger in PvP. I fear we'll just be seeing more War of the Worlds again. Warp Prism Shields increased from 40 to 100. Great change TERRAN Barracks Build time increased from 60 to 65. A very bad change. With the possible exception of the 1-1-1 almost every other timing attack has been figured out and defended. This would just slow Terran as a whole and push them towards the late-game where they are arguably the weakest. Hellion Infernal Pre-Igniter damage upgrade decreased from 10 to 5. This was a necessary change. BFH 2 shot workers were really silly. However I wish this was scaled by a reduction in the upgrade cost or a buff to mech. Raven Seeker missile movement speed increased from 2.5 to 2.953. An interesting change to encourage HSM. ZERG Infestor Fungal Growth damage changed from 36 (+30% armored) to 30 (40 vs Armored). Overall this merely affects ZvP and ZvZ because they have the tankier units. ZvT this is a small nerf to infestors since marines are still glass cannons. Added with the side buff that NPed units retain their upgrade, Infestors are still ridiculously powerful. Overseer Morph cost decreased from 50/100 to 50/50. Contaminate energy cost increased from 75 to 125. Unnecessary change imo but we'll see how this goes. Ultralisk Build time decreased from 70 to 55. Ridiculous change. Zerg late-game is powerful enough. I do not see why they needed to make it even more powerful. If this was to encourage Ultra usage they needed to buff it in a different way and nerf Broodlords and infestors. | ||
