For game two, what was different about this game and the game in the Grand Finals was that 1) Jaedong didn't make a fast tech switch, going hydra/lurker almost the entire game to keep up with Fantasy's mnm speed, 2) Jaedong did well in keeping Fantasy's dropship damage to the minimum, 3) Jaedong himself did harassment

Gah a ZvZ Final. Stork, you have your wish. Now your Bacchus OSL disaster against Flash won't be the shortest OSL ever. It'll be this one. :/

Game 3 uh..

Fantasy just reacted slow to the ling surround on that bunker. But that was because he didn't see the extra lings at the ramp. Can't blame him. Otherwise both Fantasy and Jaedong played really well.

Jaedong fucking cheesed the last 2 games, and I respect him even less now. I mean c'mon 4 pool and next game all in lings again and Fantasy made some weird wall and Jaedong got very lucky.

At least Jaedong knows how to be lame, whereas Fantasy probably would have won if the last games were straight up.

And yeah I'm kinda speaking in rage but still I think the last games were very lame.

Typical ignorant T player. First off, T has the most cheesing capability out of any race, while Z has the least. Secondly, 9 pool speed is NOT cheese whatsoever. It's Fantasy's fault for building a shitty wall. JD just decided to go all-in and continue pumping Lings because he saw a window of opportunity. Thirdly, Fantasy cheesed his TWICE in the finals.

Besides that, I think this proves that JD is definitely out of the slump he was going in to. You're blind if you didn't see the pure rage in his eyes - it looked like he was about ready to tear Fantasy's head off. He's back, he's pissed, and there is NO WAY that Yarnc is winning this final. With JD back and ready for vengeance, and the fact that this is the only thing he's practicing for, Yarnc should just huddle in a corner and cry in the fetal position and hope it ends quickly.

errr Terran can 8 rax or bunker rush, i don't really consider a wraith build cheese

Zerg has like a half dozen all-ins it can do in ZvT and ZvP, the strongest of which is just make a lot of speedlings and a-move, sometimes succeeding even if they scout it

in PvT, Protoss can do a shitton different cheeses at the T while the Terran can only really SCV+marine rush and that only works vs 14nex (sometimes not even)

so how can T possibly have the most "cheesing capability"

Here's a fact, Terrans cheese more than zergs, assuming that we count 8rax-> bunker rush as a cheese. Why?

8 rax with only 1 or 2 scvs is the equivalent of a 9 pool, it can kill them if theyre not ready or they fuck up and even if it does no damage you're not at an unwinnable disadvantage, so if you dont think 9 pool is a cheese you cant say 8 rax is.

Why don't we just say that cheese is strategic, needed, and still shows skill on both sides?
I mean, pulling off that 4 pool on a 4 player map was very good play.
Fantasy's defense was incredible as well... until he lost the bunker, lol.
Btw, anyone else really think that Fantasy though Jdong went 5pool not 4pool?
I say this because he saw the scouting drone, which 4pool usually doesn't provide, but 5pool does. =/

Anticlimactic game 4 but rest of the series was excellent.

So I guess the last 10 pages are people flaming eachother about cheese? I wonder what it would be like if other sports were held to the same standards:

Johan Santana always cheeses with that changeup. Why doesn't he play standard?

Paul Pierce always cheeses with those head fakes. Why can't he play standard?

Dolphins are running that cheesy Wildcat offense. Why don't they play standard?
Process is more important than the result

It's not so much the timing difference as it is enough drones to support 1-base lings. 3 drones, which is what jaedong had after he used one for scouting, doesn't allow him to keep pumping lings. So for that reason Fantasy might've expected the 5-pool timing.

But Jaedong doesn't need to stinking backup lings with his micro.

His building placement was just plain horrendous. Anyone going 9 pool would have won against him with that build, even a D+ ICCUP player. I have no clue what he was thinking.

haha i view the cheese cycle like this: zerg gays protoss, protoss gays terran, terran gays zerg.

This is pretty true. But the level of punishment for failed cheese definately differs among races

He was unlucky because of his spawn location.

How was his building placement horrendous? It was a perfectly legitimate ling-proof wall. Fantasy just had the bad luck of spawning in the one position that would cause his rines/vultures to spawn right into the lings.

Of course if he hadn't canceled his first marine, he would have been able to get it safely to the other side before the lings got to his base. Fantasy's fault there.

Just watched the whole series, wow just wow. I didn't expect Jaedong would be able to pull it out after watching the 1st game, but great comeback by Jaedong. Jaedong absolutely capitalized on Fantasy's inability to adapt quickly.

I wonder why Fantasy didn't use that double rax build he used in the proleague finals against Jaedong? I thought that killed Jaedong's 2 hatch build.

All the people who are putting the blame of game 3 on Fantasy's poor play are flying right past one of the most interesting aspects of starcraft pro strategy: mind games.
Jaedong won game 3 on mind games. He had hidden his extra lings while keeping the lfet overs of his initial assault running around fantasy's base, which made fantasy remove one marine from the bunker to try to harass them. Then JD made a move with his first group of lings towards fantasy scvs. This prompted fantasy to stack all of his scv's in one space, for defence purposes and that's when Jaedong strikes. He places his first group of lings between the stacked scvs and the bunker and rushes with the rest of his forces, surrounding the bunker. No repairing was possible. Jaedong tricked fantasy into thinking that a) the all in rush had ended and he was pumping drones at his main and b) that he would try to snipe scvs with the left over troops. Fantasy responded accordingly and just as Jaedong wanted him to do. This is what won the game for Jaedong.

Game 4 was just evidence that a fast factory build for terrans vs zergs can be quite weak against early aggression. It was a nice rape but not a great match, it was a non starter. The series was truely decided in the mind games of the third match.

Typical mindless terran fanboy: totally ignores the fact that fantasy himself cheesed in the PL final. It's part of the game- deal with it, us Jaedong fans had to last weekend.

He was unlucky because of his spawn location.

Which would still make it his fault for going for the wall?

Which is why he maybe shouldn't have walled there because it would get you automatically screwed against lings. Also, his marine couldn't get through to the other side BECAUSE it was ling-proof, which made it marine-proof as well. Marines can only get through if it's zealot-proof but not ling-proof. He screwed himself by walling himself in like that.
