summary of what I wrote. 1) Schools look at more than just GPA and SAT, they want a unique student body. Being a progamer is something that makes Idra stand out of the crowd, because it is a mathematical certainty that thousands of kids have the exact same GPA and SAT scores no matter what his are. So Idra has a huge plus now that nobody else can claim 2) Most schools are flexible once you've been admitted. I got into a school that I couldn't afford to go to at the time, and they agreed to let me in the next year once my financial situation improved. 3) Your first semester of senior year is your last "official" semester as far as colleges are concerned. What happens 2nd semester doesnt get factored into your GPA... colleges just expect you to maintain your current grades 2nd semester (if yo udick around and fail all your classes, your admissions could get cancelled). So Idra can probably work something out to either take the GED or come to some other agreement. All in all, Idra is going to be fine, and probably get into wherever hes applied to assuming hes a good student, which it seems like he probably is. Well that's good. congrats on the tournament, and good luck. I know I'm ignorant in the course of how colleges accept students. But it's still just like 4 months left until graduation (if that) and he decides to drop out and get a GED? Maybe finishing high school online is a choice with you (it is with the school I go to) if the colleges won't accept a GED or you dropping out. | ||
