Rough translation of the winner's interview (not word for word). Q: How do you feel about winning an individual league for the first time in 9 years? A: Being so focused on one game at a time, the reality of it didn't really hit me even after I got the final GG. I did think, with regret, that if I had worked harder back in the KeSPA days, I would have been able to enjoy this feeling sooner. Q: Did you think you would win 3-0 with Bisu as your opponent? A: Not at all. Last night I went to sleep feeling like I might lose, but today fortune favoured me. Q: In game 1 your drone scouting was spot on. Was that prepared? A: I had thought out a strategy and practised it, but it was such that if the opponent builds Gateways in the centre and attacks, I wouldn't stand a chance at holding back the attack. So I thought that Bisu might try this sort of thing and scouted accordingly, and found that he did indeed do this. I thought then "I'm in luck today", and the was able to take the game. Q: Game 3 looked very back-and-forth. Was there a moment when you thought you might lose? A: I thought that throughout the whole game. The Hydralisks were pushed back too easily, so I thought it'll be tough. So I thought of attacking with Mutalisks in that disadvantaged state, put all of my ability into controlling them properly, and was able to get back into the game that way. A: [...] Nowadays I also practise hard, however, I don't know why, but I feel much less pressured. Now I can display in real games the same ability as when I'm just practicing, so I'm getting good results. Q: You've defeated the famous "Revolutionist" Bisu 3-0, and there is talk of a new revolution. What do you think about that? A: I think that when Bisu won in 2007, he displayed a level of play worthy of talking about a "revolution". I wouldn't go quite so far as to talk about a revolution regarding today's finals. Q: You went to meet your parents after the win. What did they say? A: They also attended the FIX Starleague finals. Back then I only got second place, and I felt sorry for that. It's great that they could finally see me winning the finals. Q: Any other words. A: My goal this season was to win the whole tournament. That was my resolution from the very beginning, and I'm glad I was able to keep it. I don't think of myself as the absolute best player for winning this. I will keep working hard until everyone recognises me as such.

Neat to hear hero being able to enjoy his practicing with less pressure than the KeSPA days. Such a humble guy. Sounds like really supportive parents ![]() Noticed hero's been proudly displaying his trophy & check these days ![]() ![]()

Pretty sure a gambler could have offered him a lot more money than that and made a shit ton more money than that. I'm ignorant on those issues, but it's gambling man.... 8.4k USD is nothing to a gambler.

Match fixing is a pretty serious claim, not to be made so lightly. Yup. Also goes to show how toxic match-fixing is, since the accusation still comes up several years after the original scandal, and leveled against players with no history of participating in same (Bisu). And it shows why there has to be zero tolerance for players who match-fix, and how they can't be let back in even after they 'express sufficient remorse', whatever that is.

On June 16th, 2013, Solo received a lifetime ban from Starladder for betting fraud against zRage.[1] On the 21st, Solo was officially removed from RoX after admitting his involvement.[2]. Later, the ban was commuted to one year.[3] The amount that Solo won from betting against his own team was $322, although he never received the money. Since then, Dota commentators and viewers frequently use the phrase "322" to mock particularly bad plays, implying that it almost appears that the player in question is attempting to throw the game. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Solo Never mind the fact that his ban definitely did not fit the crime, but he did not even fully serve his punishment before getting unbanned from tournaments. Even the ~3 month that he did get banned were during and the TI season so he didn't really miss out on much either.(To elaborate the whole scene freezes and only thing that's running during and before-after the TI season is the TI) And then this dude continues to go on to play on valve sanctioned tournaments so yeah. People may say whatever about the old Kespa(I hear the people's opinion on them are at all time high in Korea in the recent few years), but they handled the match fixing scandal right by life time banning everyone involved and assisting police in their investigations in every way possible. Anyway the point of describing all this to you was to convey a message that maybe the money involved in esports got out of hand for it's own good and gambling/matchfixing is now bigger than all of us =( I don't want to single out the CIS scene for it's low ethical standards or whatever that can be called out on because it's money business and it's probably happening everywhere else anyway. -edit I mean the problem is there, not that bisu vs hero is fixed one ><. If you've been following hero vs bisu series over the the years, you knew hero is the one zerg who had the potential for this.

You can clearly see in the interview before the finals, that something was wrong with bisu, he was uncomfortable and nervious. I also thought at g3 "does bisu want to lose, why is he not transitioning to lategame composition?". Bisu couldve won the game easy, after he killed hero's first hydras, then after he gathered the huge army. All he needed is to defend, control map and harass, but instead he suicided and didnt switch to late game army, waiting to be destroyed by hive tech. We can only speculate tho, bisu dissapeared after the finals without saying anything, which make it even more suspicous, but who knows.

in any case u will see the best game of players in a starleague finals,it just doesnt happen,go watch any of them and u will see mistakes everywhere and is normal, big stage pressure, exciting that the day has arrived etc. Bisu opened 2g and got scouted very early then hero sent 4 lings to bisu base,(to be honest here,it was a huge mistake by bisu to sent back 2 zealots.. 1 zealot is more than enough, but yeah no matter what his situation was terrible. now if you dont know this, for koreans win the first map of the series is always the most important for them, read any interview of iloveoov and other programers.idk why but is just their mentality,so things wasnt going as Bisu wanted. second game was in La mancha, somwhow is the first time in my life i see bisus sair doing anything ,usually u get 1 2 overlords with the first sair, this just didnt happen this time and hero was in perfect shape with 4 bases, other unusual thing i saw was bisu lossing like 2 sairs before get his critical number,it was very strange since Bisu air control is excellent, but this just totally killed everything in his play, then he decided to make something happen with zealots but it was a terrible choice heros wall was perfect and he holds everything very ez. now i didnt watched all the bisu series but did he ever comeback after be down 0-2 in a series ? i dont recall this but this just put lot of pressure in his shoulders, and this is what happen in heartbreak,he was playing very safe after his huge lead, hero mutalisk were excellent, for the people saying that he was shaking cuz he killed probes with storm, this is no correct at all,is actually the most simple reaction protoss does to defend when there are not corsairs or archons, you try micro with your probes and maybe a good storm will kill the mutalisk,is very risk yes.
