ya, of course. I completely understand what was the reason since I followed this thread since it's beginning but I just feel really sad that we seem to have lost so many players (due to rank) because of the changes. I'm 2-3 atm, gets pretty sad when I feel like I've lost a won game but I would rather go 0-10 or something and have a lot of TL members playing. Would make the community stronger imo though I can understand being depressed over losing since I've experienced it myself.

To be honest i don' t like laddering. I do it cause it makes me improve and sometimes its the only games available.
But i am really sick of the fact that for 5 games i meet 1 guy who crushes me, one guy whom i crush. thats 8/10 . and then the 2 real fun games and that make me improve are played against people of my own skill. people where there is a game going on and not a one-sided massacre.

This league is not the problem, this league is the consequence of the problem. Keep in mind how it started. Many people where still playing iccup and had felt the need to developed a somewhat closer community to protect themselves, learn, grow, have fun, mess around, live broodwar. Now there is not really that userbase anymore. The way to get Broodwar going again, in my opinion, would be developing a new server.

I don' t think the solution is to bring back C-/C players, i don' t think the solution is to keep going like this after this season.

but really the enjoyment is gone when it feels like you're just getting crushed by people who get kicks from it.

Personally I feel bad when I meet what is obviously a new player and I am still advertising games as D/D- but there is obviously a huge gap in mechanics. Of course I want to win, because I am always getting crushed, but it's those players who need wins the most in order to continue playing the game, and getting enjoyment out of it.

I honestly don't see myself playing a lot of BW in the future. I will try to practice a little and maybe participate in 1-2 matches of the remaining DRTL season, because I feel I owe that much at least to my team for signing up, but really the enjoyment is gone when it feels like you're just getting crushed by people who get kicks from it. Hard to know your true skill / ladder rating when every game is a loss, some might be close, and others you get crushed, and the opponents' ratings are all about the same as you.
