Set 1 : interesting, watch it especially for a weird attempt who could have succeeded if 5 seconds early (did anyone ever try this before btw?) Set 2 : pretty one-sided. Not recommended unless you appreciate how a player can choose the perfect counter build
Set 1 : you cannot not watch a player with an afro ! seriously, watch it, it was a very entertaining game overall. Set 2 : holy shit, the last 30 seconds are intense, incredible micro from the winner ! WATCH IT !

Soulkey's doing pretty well recently while Hiya's no longer even close to being "just a razor thin edge behind Jaedong". Let's go with SK.
Leta TvP vs a pretty unknown but rising P. The SKT fan in me sez Paralyze.
Movie's not doing well recently. But neither has Hyuk, who hasn't been sent out in PL for awhile. And Movie embarrassed Hyuk the last time they met, in the PL finals. I'd say Movie, but I'll hope for Hyuk.

Soulkey doesn't lose to Bisu if he meet him again When all will expect sunk def he will SUDDENLY play standard 5 hatch hydra and kill Bisu corsair-based play :D

Two starports! TWO STARPORTS! This is the Flight of the Silver Swallow technique - it is very destructive if executed properly and not many Zergs can withstand it!
3 mutas finish off the vultures - an empty bunker finishes burrow done the attack did net a few drone kills but probably not worth the cost? more wraiths out now - 3
another 2/3 mutas lost for a wraith another OL picked off
wraith/mnm kicking ass against pure muta mnm group getting a lot larger now mutas pick off a rine though, scourge die to a turret at hiya's nat and see hiya starting a cc there

Would have been really interesting if it had worked too. When I saw the dropship I was like woah O_O
Because OL/Hydra army gets raped by Wraith/Vulture? Mines rape Hydralisks you know. What he really needed was a third hatch earlier (not necessarily expansion, just for the drones) and some speedlings with his Mutas so Wraiths wouldn't cut it any more.

That's one way of looking at it. The other way is that he's going to gain some confidence and form from his run in this OSL, and that in turn will result in PL wins.
that TvZ is actually like ZvZ with the exception that T has the bonus of being able to construct workers and other stuff along with its "mutas", not instead of them.
Z's actually didn't develop the proper counter to this build it seems. X_x
well hiya SHOULD be aware of what's up if he checked the pool's health and has a good sense of time Hiya's expo CC done only building rines from 1 of his 2 raxes
2nd sunken starting at sk's nat spire in the main gets scanned about 6/7 lings outside hiya's nat probably should notice the massive amount of mnm there

Lol I thought the song Craton is playing on his stream was being played by ongamenet as a kind of sendoff for Soulkey.
I think there were a lot of things Soulkey could have done to hold that game. Pulling his lings back instead of attempting a counterattack would have helped a lot and also at least trying to bait an extra stim out of the marines with his mutas before they reached his base would have been helped a lot too.

Huh? What's up with all this hate.
Hiya's a nice guy and a good player who has been slumping. He obviously prepared hard for this with good builds.
today 6 bottles of bacchus lined up closely in front of the commentator table, plus 4 other bottles distributed around Leta in the left booth - he massages his wrists and looks serious 7-4 vs protoss!

Classic OGN. They like to take one player and hype hype hype and if he wins, they'll use him to promote the starleague. If he loses, dumped in a corner.
slow shuttle moving out - pulls back as the probe runs into the fd coming mines done, ebay starting first wraith building paralyze on 2 gates - can he hold against this minipush? 1st dt out and loaded up 1 dt used to defend with 2 zealot/1 goon
huge mine drag with a dt kills quite a few vultures leta then decides to destroy the mines a little too close to his tanks at the nat dt kills one vulture, scanned, destroyed
oh boy - leta about to siege up behind the nat mineral line but 2 zealots are there ready and most of the probes are pulled and leta doesn't even scan for vision zero probe kills
leta also loses 2 rines building a bunker behind the ridge - goons bugging out
leta losing his bunker/4 rines to mass goons behind paralyze's nat observer sees leta taking his 3rd at 10 leta's tank force so weak - if paralyze attacked earlier but now the vultures reinforce
paralyze losing a LOT of goons at the narrow choke towards leta's 3rd but finally the one tank there destroyed leta will lose his cc tanks attacking paralyze's nat pulling back
This is definitely how Bisu should play PvT hahaha I don't know if the dt all in was calculated and planned or if it was a move of despair, but it sure worked !

dont think it's a move of despair. this kid said he's very confident in his PvT and the minor league stats are in agreement with this statement.

I wouldn't be so sure man. There were a couple of Ace match victories in R1 and a few 4-2 results that could have gone to Ace. SKT had a great round, but Stars and STX looked strong to me, and KT will sort their shit out sooner rather than later.

Well its how BW have been unless you are a Flash or Jaedong fan.
Having a single player dominating and having two players dominating is different in my book. Sure, it would be nice if someone else finally won a starleague (not Bisu though, hate SKT), but it's not unbearable.

for sure, 4 protoss + protoss-favored maps = guaranteed victory for SKT (not that it wasn't anyway!)
Though when he got that first hit with the DT and kinda had Leta contained in his base. Would not a few goons have worked great to pick on buildings and nearby turrets?

I meant after his shuttle had been sniped and Leta bunkered + turreted, he could have just given up with the dts. But his contain was good, and his mine drag in the vultures was very smart.

But it is. Its unbearable to see the same two player in the finals over and over again. Even though they are the two best players. Iits just sad for BW when two players are so outstanding that non els can challange them.
But I guess its wors if you are a protoss player. Watching tvz over and over again is not that much fun.

They are where STX should be right now. On a heap of performing players, more than they actually know what to do with, actually. One more perfect round and I'll puke.
Really not sure about the proleague though. Dont think Afrotoss is better than Best or Bisu and a three protoss line up sounds bit unreasonable and then they also have that other protoss who has made quite a few appearances: Sun..
Leta seems to be making all kinds of uncharacteristic control mistakes (e.g. wandering siege tanks in game 1, forgetting to re-rally his marines in game 2). I wonder if he's sick or something.

My logic goes thus: many good players make it very hard to predict who is going to play. This gives a huge advantage to the team, and having an Ace as strong as Bisu right now makes it only worse. I guess I should whine less and watch instead.
leta rallying more tanks and vultures 3/4 zealots loaded into the shuttle leta killing his own mines mine drag destroys 3 vultures goons moving out - tanks sniped!
That kid has played a total of 4 TV games, and he manages to stay composed when a bunch of sieged tanks are shooting at his nexus, with vultures, mines, and bunkers to protect. He didn't overreact, and came up with the exact right counter at the exact right time. And he pulled sexy micro too.

Paralyze seems to be one of those players who have no trouble showing his full (or close to it) skill in televised games, unlike all those others who dominate the practice house and then get sent out for PL and fall apart. For whatever reason he hasn't even played in PL yet! Although I suspect that will change really quickly.
That was an incredible micro and execution. I would have had twice as much goons and wouldn't have broken this contain. Amazing ! Afrotoss totally screwed my LB ( was 200 3 days ago, thought tonight was free points...) but I don't give a shit, this guy is amazing !

If the first game seemed lame to some due to the DT, nobody can say anything about the second game. 2 fac push into contain with siege, mines and bunkers. And he plain and simple just broke out like it was nothing, using goon, shuttle and zeals. No carriers, no 12 nex, no DT, just freaking amazing!

well, it was 1 gate FE. which is pretty greedy, but should have made him even MORE vulnerable.
Leta's timing was kind of late for whatever reason though
killing the rines and vultures quickly with probes/etc in the first attack really made a big difference, Leta couldn't get in range for the longest time after he lost all his chaff.

DES= So after all this talk, we see that Bisu is deeply angered by PvT and Stork is deeply angered by PvZ.
Stork: It’s not really to that extent yet. (laughs) Bisu: My motto is hard work!
DES= If the two of you became one player, that would be formidable.
Stork: We wouldn’t lose to anyone. Even if we had to play Flash. (laughs) Bisu: I also feel the same way. Stork-hyung and I together would make the strongest Protoss.
This gave SKT an awesome idea only our TL beloved baller would think of :
Paralyze is not a real player. The afro and glasses are a disguise. When he has to face a Zerg, Bisu wears the afro wig and the glasses, when it's a PvT Best does. No wonder Paralyze destroyed both Great and Leta !
Though lets face it. Beating great and leta, impressiv as it may be, does not say to much. He has a long way to go before he can be counted as a real challanger for the top positions. He barely debuted last year, and already destroyed these two A-teamers in a Bo3. Just the fact that he's been around for only a year and he's already accomplished that speaks volumes about his potential.

Hyun's ZvT is bad but his ZvP is not.
thing is, that's what they said about Hyuk ten minutes ago
besides, i'll see it first to believe it. yesterday's performance was D level
Whatever. He's beaten Stork and Free a few times before, there's nothing bad about that.
he also beat flash. >.> not disagreeing with you, just sayin.
He was also 2-0 against Fantasy before losing in the OSL last week. There's a reason why Koreans nickname him ace-killer. Not joking.
hope he improves, after getting facerolled yesterday. i remember that he beat baby in the playoffs last season too.
God why do protoss after protoss let Hyuk do this over and over again? You know what you are getting with him; the majority of his games are hydra busts.
Pretty surprised Movie was so unready for the hydra bust, it was a pretty standard 5 hatch and he had a lot of scouting info that game. Not enough hts or cannons.

tho i hope Hyuk win not because he deserves it but more like Movie is too mediocre to make it far anyway, might as well add some lulz to the next round.

Hyuk channeling Shine
Getting Hyuk in OSL just means that evil Flash will abuse him again and golden ball him.

Hyuk actually has a pretty damn scary macro game if he doesn't do anything stupid. Ex., vs Snow on Judgement Day where he RAPES Snow, even though Snow gets away with a secret third for the longest tim.

Actually I don't agree. Hyuk does mix in a lot of strategies...but he loses most of the time when doing something other than hydra busts.
overpool for hyuk movie's probe heads out the wrong way not that it matters - hyuk doesn't ever deny scouting and movie should go nex first because hyuk fails with ling runbys
OL sees the forge, a drone awaits at the nat as the probe passes by, turns into a hatchery yep, lol movie goes nex first even though hyuk goes overpool hyuk should've just went 12hatch
2 templar 2 cannons at movie's nat will it be enough as the hydra move out? 2 more templar and 3 speed lots mutas come to snipe templar - get one and fail on the other 3
I think in 2 games of opening mass muta, Hyuk hasn't killed a single probe with them. In fact, I think that DT was the only kill in both games combined :/
Hyuk spreading his overlords like crazy with the fear of corsairs gone, spots a 1 drop incoming and tries to intercept with hydraling. Drops got 2 zealots, 1 dt, 1 ht
an entire half screen of hydra carcasses now movie taking a 4th at 11 hydralurkerling vs goon/zeal/archon/temp mid map with observer movie losing a lot of shit despite nice storms
On November 19 2010 22:03 sixfour wrote: hyuk wins
how
Hyuk has good macro haha.. also Movie's Archon/Zealot/HT attack at Hyuk's min only needed to do a lot more damage other than just trading armies, due to Movie's third being so delayed. Also moving out so early w/ such a pathetic sized army to the center was also pretty bad.

hyuk nerfs all mutas under his control.
like in an rpg where you pick a character's advantages and disadvantages... hyuk picked the "mutas suck into zvp" disadvantage to get more points towards "hydra bust"

So that's how hyukstyle works? I suppose in ZvT his points all go into mutaling and none into lategame.

Pretty much how I felt about his play..
BTW whos Afrotoss fan #1?
I declare myself fan #3 because I was one of the very fewpeople who said he would win against Leta.
Ugh, I would hate to be in Movie's position that last game. After that successfully denied attack on his 3rd expansion by storming the shit out of the Hyuk's army, he gets overconfident and decides to move out, while forgetting that Zerg replenish his army in no time and thus losing all his units in the middle for no reason. He should've camped in front of his 3rd until he got more units. I hate that feeling when you play against Zerg and in one attack you obliterate all of his units and then you get overconfident and lose all your units 1 minute later...
Oh well, at least I'm really looking forward for next FROTOSS games!

I always thought Movie's pvz game sense was better then other protoss players. But his pvz was below his standards.

Yeah, precisely, especially since Hyuk had 4 bases unmolested with decent drone saturation. Taking a 3rd in that sort of situation and then leaving it vulnerable by moving out (with a pretty small army at that), is a recipe for failure.
HiyA is most probably the only person i like advancing, don't really like soulkey even though his play is at times really really impressive. And leta lost!?
Im a sad fanboy. This season is going to be the SKT toss season, theres literally a protoss sniper for each race( Bisu PvZ, Best PvT, Sun PvP) and now afrotoss, infused with the power of Bisu and Best combined. Not that im actually sick of it, on the contrast it sure looks better since that means protoss couls get their revenge on both T and Z for dominating for nearly 2 years.
Although only Bisu has a fighting chance against jaedong ^^. and Best has proven that when his play is perfect he can demolish Flash when Flash just does a single mistake.
I personally find Flash TvZ much more scarier than his TvP. Think that is cause there ain't any other good terrans with good TvZ and TvP(light is a specialist in TvZ but his TvP just plain sucks) and Sea is just inconsistent. Don't talk about Fantasy, his mnm micro has been abysmal

u still have some good terrans out there baby, midas , mind ,forgg and any one of them is capable of taking any protoss
Slumping Terran 2-0s better Zerg, new protoss 2-0s better Terran, and the most mediocre Zerg in proleague 2-1s a better protoss....ugh not a good day for bw balance lol

But this is pretty normal for Leta and isn't first time that a random knocks him out of something. (Sky 2-0'd him out of OSL prelims before, nearly was knocked out by MyDream in wcg etc) Leta isn't exactly the most consistent or clutch person when it comes to star leagues. Plus, Soulkey is still young and lacks boX experience. Not really a day where you can blame balance.
Also interestingly enough, this was nice revenge for Afrotoss as Leta beat him 2-1 in Summer OSL Prelims.

How is this a warning -_-
I would like to know to, seems perfectly harmless.
Memes are frowned upon on TL.net. It's been said again and again.
Making carriers a useful talen toi have Skillless newbie? Hwaseung Oz Espz
More so the image macro than the meme.
And damn SoulKey, wtf man.
tl mods are banning and warning like insane since the start of sc2. unfortunately they dont ban in sc2 forums;-) (im getting banned every weekend for saying stuff like "[some guy] played bad")
Lol I don't see what the surprise is, I LB'd 2 of the 3 (Didn't guess Paralyze, guess the kids gonna be bonjwa some day lul)
Hiya has been slumping but he's a better player overall. His TvZ is actually a good matchup,a nd Soulkey's worst matchup is his ZvT, so thats explained
Hyuk underperforms a lot but his ZvP is actually REALLY good, check out his last 10 games in ZvP and his overall ZvP matchup is like 57%, meanwhile Movies been slumping pretty bad lately too.

well to be fair Hiya is a pretty good player actually. Hes just been slumping alot in the PLs for whatever reason.

This. For someone who's watched BW for a while I'd expect you to have made a more logical reasoning than that. Hiya was a top 15-20 player all of last season, he's had a small proleague slump but he's still a decent enough player. Soulkey meanwhile, had a hot week the week before flamewheel came out with the newest power rank, he's really NOT that great though.
Matchups don't lie either, Hiya's TvZ isn't god awful, especially given the sample size, and Soulkeys ZvT is a losing record
And its a shame that Soulkey got knocked out. Would have been interesting. Either way though, Hiya is still a decent player even with his current slump. He can yet again pull off his v. Free shenanigans.
And Hyuk hyuked Movie.
All in all, a good day for SKT and a not so good day for Hite Entus.

Soulkey's ZvT record was exactly 50% before these two matches. 50% is not less than 50%. Besides, if you count offline matches it is still well above 50% now.
Also why would you bring up the size of Hiya's record even though Hiya has way more games on his record than Soulkey does?

Because a bigger sampling size means a more reliable statistic?
I thought soulkey had some sublime ZvT? I remember watching a game where he completely demolished a terran who was going for bio-mech transition, his play was perfect then. Seeing that his online record is 50% kind of shocks me.

he's only really been playing like that since maybe june this year, so his record isnt going to be THAT good - better to look at it from then onwards
his zvt is great, hes wrecked alot of good players
frotoss' games were amazing, i guess leta didnt put on his disco boots and got serrrrrrrved yeah but really one-siding games, always exciting to see a new player make it to the ro16

I've tried this consolation strategy before when Flash got eliminated left and right from leagues and it didn't actually work...
Ya, to be honest it was actually even more depressing that he dominated so hard in PL. You know, he showed week in, week out that he's one of the most talented players to ever play the game and still he was nowhere to be found in the latter stages of the Starleagues.
