this has happened to me and its why i stopped playing sc.
i never found out the cause of this but some combination of OS selection and hardware selection is my guess.
my mouse moves faster than its supposed to and keys dont register inputs unless i deliberately put effort into "pausing" before each key.
i know its not an issue with the way i play, because on computers that dont have this issue i play perfectly fine.

What's the best counter as a protoss against a zerg going mass muta? Dragoons are good somewhat but they keep getting stuck in buildings & minerals trying to chase harrasing mutas so I'm running out of options.
Do something today that your future self will be thankful for.

+1 Corsair, 2 Stargates if you really want to shut it down hard but it might make you vulnerable to a tech switch.

Am I wrong, or does a map with an easily-taken 3rd gas like Crossing Field really disadvantage Zerg (and Protoss in PvT)?

It's counter-intuitive, because Zerg is supposed to be the fast-expanding race, so you'd think that an easy 3rd would help them. But then the P or T can just match them in expansions really easily, and then where do they go? 3 vs 3 bases is not a good fight for Zerg. I suppose they can go for a 4th, but there's no clear timing for it, and it's even harder to defend.

Most of the above also applies to Protoss in PvT, too.

What are you supposed to do when you need an extra base, but your opponent can easily match your base count?

third gas is more important for zvt than tvz, imo. zvp is a different story though.

Why aren't hydras/lurkers used in zvz? Hydras can do ok against mutas, you can tech to them faster and lurkers end any zergling play. They're also cheaper than mutas. So is it just impossible to move out against muta/ling with hyrdra/lurker since they're less mobile and you just lose all your drones? Or can muta micro just beat hydras straight up?

you need a critical mass of hydras before you can move out, and while you're doing that the muta player is going to be picking stuff off and/or forcing static d while droning/expanding

yeah hydras are absolutely terrible against small-medium sized mutaling armies of comparable size. And because hydras are so slow compared to mutaling, and because you have to drone up more before you can start massing them, you need to build a lot of static defense. That puts you severly behind from the get-go. Then you need to mass up a significant army before you can mount any actual attack. This allows the mutalinging zerg to drone up and expand more. A group of 40 hydra and 4 lurkers is certainly going to do well in a straight up fight against a comparable amount of mutaling, but you end up being so far behind before that battle that you never get the straight up fight against a comparable amount of mutaling.

I played a ladder game this season against some guy who was going hydra, and he did it fairly competently. By the time he had a hydra army capable of contesting my mutaling army, I had 3 bases to his two, and both lurkers and dark swarm to defend with.

there's obviously no point in making any scourge. There are various ways you can counter it depending on your preferred style of play. When I open 4 gate zealot, I generally think zergs who have great sim city, just enough zerglings and sunkens to defend and then make 11 mutas are the toughest to beat. It's viable to just go hydra lurker or lurker ling as well, but in that case I can be somewhat active with my zealots while spending my gas on templar, and depending on the map I can often take a pretty quick third. whereas if they go muta, I need cannons, and I need either a lot of dragoons or dark archon before I can leave my base.

How do you guys handle anger? I have a small stress ball on my desk that I squeeze when games don't go my way, which worked fine and dandy until one fateful evening.

Picture this: The lights in my room are off and the only brightness in my room is the illumination of my monitors. Dusk has far approached my house, and my windows only show darkness and the occasional star in the sky. I can hear cars whizzing past the street down the road every few minutes. Some motorcycles as well. My stress ball sits to the left of my keyboard, which I deem my "angry hand". I'm matched against a Terran... my favorite type of opponent. After a 30 minute battle of intense warfare, my keyboard stops working. My natural is trampled by the Terran. Then my main is demolished. I try to type "go fuck yourself cunt" but the words don't come out. Right, my keyboard.

All of a sudden I feel something fuzzy touch my leg. Who is it, but my white fuzzy cat? She has the keyboard cord laying on top of her and she is wiggling and is in a playful mood. My first instinct is to kick her across my room like Dan Bailey going for a game winning field goal. Then I remember my stress ball. Without looking, I reach to my left and grasp in my hand the first spherical object I can. I give it a huge squeeze. Wetness. Juice running all the way down my arm and leg. My table is soaked in a pulpy aftermath. I forgot I had placed a peach on my desk a few games prior to snack on.
I want to fuck Soulkey with a Zelderan.
