Just wondering, when you go 1 Rax FE, approximately what time is your CC going down? I know CC goes down anywhere from like 15 to 18 pop but what's that time window? What minute to what minute? Also, at what time does the first pylon for Protoss finish?

Command center goes down from 2:25-2:40. First pylon finishes at 1:05.

I just lost a game where the enemy went mass templar, zealots, sairs, and DT. Getting frustrating. The games where I should attack I don't, and the games where I attack I should not. This game I ran into a wall of storms. Stupid me went defilers forgetting that storms don't give a squat and zealots don't give a squat about dark swarm.

Did I tech too early? Should I have just sat back and defended my advantage with sunkens and spores? I am having a hard time knowing when to attack, tech, or drone up.

Please tell me things I could do to better my game. Thank you!

I tried it again with the Luna map from the iccup 2.4 mappack, I am pretty sure it is the same one in the 2.5 pack. I was able to unprotect, load, modify, save and reload just fine. I don't really have much experience with this and have no idea why you are having trouble \= Are you trying to mess with the same map as me? What happens when you try to save?

i have many questions^^
where do u have that build your playing from? (because it is extremly ineffecient, u were far behind at the 7 min mark)
why did u expand to the bottom left bases and why do u always place 2 hatches minimum at each location? (u lost 5 hatches at bottom left expos)
why do u always have all overlords hugging it out, either outside his bridge or at your base at 12 or at the end vs the corsairs?
defiler are good vs zeal/ht/archon because u can plague all zeals.

some other things i saw, u had about 40 drones in the natural but only about 10 in your main (then u added even more drones to your main), which made u mine out even earlier than the protoss.
u made no evo upgrades, which sucks hard because 0-0 lings die in 1 hit by a +2 attack archon, in 2 hits by a +1 attack zeal and in 3 hits by a +3 attack goon.... they just die pretty fast.
and my last question, why did u leave the game? if u stayed in the game for maybe 10 seconds your enemy might have gg'ed.

Doesn't 5 hatch hydra usually involve taking a third at a decent timing?

ehm, if u are talking about 3 hatch spire into 5 hatch hydra, then u normally should place the 3rd hatch at a 3rd base.

oh man I screwed up bad. I actually just watched your game against G5 and I really enjoyed how you went for hydra first and then muta switch to kill the templars. So I tried getting mutas this time in my games against toss.

1. I am kinda scared to take my third hatch at a third expo so I always build hatches inside like I do against terran.
2. lol hugging ovies. I bring a bunch because I fear DTs and if I only bring a few, I always feel like the sairs might take em down. If I bring a whole control group, I can lose a few to sairs and still have detection. >_<
3. I will get plague next time, never used it before but I will now.
4. I think I was in an advantage when he first pushed out and I beat him back with 3 control groups of hydras. He was on two base and I just killed a bunch of his army so I thought I had him beat. So I tried to break his front but got stormed to death.
5. Oh boy I will make sure I evenly spread my drones. that is unacceptable.
6. evo is important! so should I be getting evo upgrades before I hive? I was thinking that jumping quickly to hive would be best instead of evo upgrades. but i think I am wrong.
7. ...............really?! he would have left?! I just felt so depressed since I could not break the ramp at his 3rd or his main. I was thinking if I could only get inside and destroy his gateways, I had him. Sadly I could not and my main and nat was mined out and I had one base versus toss one base. I felt hopeless.

Point is, third was very late, 5hatch on 2base seems very all-in-y imho.

in my game vs G5 i played 4 hatch lair into hydras then mutas based on my scouting. yes i take the gas before my 4th hatch, but only slightly.

your lings near his 3rd would have killed it because he had no defences there.
placing the 3rd hatch at a 3rd base vs forge fe is completely safe
i always group 1 ovi with my units, so i always have a speed ovi where my army is and i have enough to keep my detection vs corsair.
hive is not the same hive as vs terran, because vs terran, having 1 defiler + 3 lurker can hold everything and the direct upgrades dont really matter. against protoss, hive wont work without army/upgrade/economy foundation. in a sense, the defiler is pretty much equal to the ht, except that storm can kill units while plague cant.
so yes, get upgrades before hive.

its a good build, but be sure to read the guide of it here.

this build is not perfect against some builds, like cors/rvr, but its a good start into the 3 hatch spire into 5 hatch mentality.
i cant give u any personal tweaks because i dont play 3 hatch spire builds, but the build at liquipedia is slightly wrong (its right in the guide) take your 2nd gas after u placed the 5th hatch.

What type of build do you prefer Bakuryu?

Also can anyone link me to a couple VODs/replays of a 1 Rax FE successfully holding off a 2 Gate? I'm trying to convince my friends that 2 Gate does not instagg a 1 Rax FE...

You are talking about 10/15gate right? All p's on iccup ever do when they see me rax FE is either 2gate mass goons or proxy gate goon allin. I can send you some of mine I successfully defend (not many tt... otherwise I'd be B+!!!) if a c-/c's replays will convince him.

there might be better walls but i just threw this together really quick
1oclock is actually wallable with just rax+cc but i forgot and put the depot down already
alternately you can win via good micro and waiting for a vulture but that's way harder

I was thinking of the 1 Rax FE where you don't wall and just sim city in your main...sorry I don't play Terran so I don't know all te variations on builds...

~3:13 - 1st zeal reaches base on FS x pos. With the 2depot build you have 2 marines out, with your simcity nat as dead shows.

~3:40 - 2nd two zeals arrive. Technically, while still doing 19gas, you can have 4 marines and a bunker up or complete the wall if possible.

This is with x pos and p scout, t doesn't scout. Way better odds for T than I originally thought.

you pretty much always simcity your nat if you 1rax fe because otherwise you die to goon runbys
