OMG! I can't take the newbiness of this thread. Perhaps I shall share some of my wisdom with you guys.

First of all: Zerg SUX!!! Don't use them. Mass SCVs can kill 2 Zerglings, so clearly TvZ is imbalanced.

Next, you need to learn basic build orders. Here's my personal favorite with Protoss:
Build 50 probes
Mass cannons at your choke point

Your opponent will become frustrated because cannons are invincible. He will leave and you will win. If he uses this thing called a "Dropship", then disconnect, because he is clearly hacking.

Never expand. Getting multiple bases is dangerous. With 1 base, you're much stronger.

Oh and about firebats vs hydras.... You shouldn't ever have to worry about hydras, since Zerg sux and all you have to do to beat them is mass SCVs. The only problem is if the Zerg uses their super cheap flying pigs (they get one at the beginning of each game because Blizzard knew that Zerg were the worst). Your SCVs won't be able to attack them, it's laem.

Hah, you're too noob to know you can repair those flying pigs to death.

Exalted is actually right but the problem is many average terran players don't know how to rush to BC the way gosu people do. Let me try to write...

... The definitive BC rush Build Order

The key is pretty tricky for average players: peon stopping, sacrificing econ to get shit faster.

1)build scv until 10/10, build gas, put 5 scv to gas, then wait for 400 min and build a command center at your choke to wall in. The reason for a CC is:

- you need the supply for BC that take mucho mucho food
- you need gas and CC don't take too much
- cc is low tech so you are not giving away your strat (extremely important)
- cc has much more hp than supply depot. Don't use supply for wallin; that's what noobs do.

2) stop producing scv (that's the peon stopping i was talking about). Keep making command centers, completing your wallin and getting supply.

3) build barracks, factory, then immediately build 5 starports. The reason is you'll get BC five times faster this way, which is smart. By the time your nerd facility with star trek add-on will finish, you should have the gas to get all 5 BCs (timing is essential in this build)

4) by that time, your opponent may try a risky rush. lift your command centers and micro them back and forth the way you micro goons vs marines, it should buy you enough time to defend with the BCs (in the right hands, 5 BCs own 6 zerglings)

5) research yamato gun

6) start yamato harassing his base. The key is: scan, choose a larva, "y". The BCs will swoop in and anihilate that larva. From my experience, NO amount of micro can save a larva targetted by 5 yamatos. That's what make this build so strong... Retreat immediately to your base or a cliff.

7) rinse and repeat: the reason is, when you have killed all 3 larvae, THEY CANNOT PRODUCE STUFF, meaning you win !

Stuff to watch

-scourges: easy counter. Just yamato the buggers

-blimps: tricky. Scan and clone-yamato the interceptor. Try not to use more than 2 yamatos on a single interceptor

-defilers: they can't hurt you. Scorpions hit with their tail, and you are cruising in hyperspace and shit.

-firebats: those bad guys OWN mutas AND BCs because of +1 armor and stim. If he gets firebats, just mass scvs from all your command centers and overwhelm him with sheer number.

-sometimes after a few battles your BCs get covered by blue lightning or red goo. That means respectively that there's been a short circuit or too much rust. Time to recycle. Go over a cliff and make them yamato one another so that your opponent don't get the exp.

-high templars: those can harm you only if they morph into an archon. Don't mind them.

With a little bit of practice, you should get the coveted "5 stars" in you battlenet profile, definitely proving you are not an average player anymore...

Hope this helps newbie players out there.

Im seriously thinking of posting this in WGTour to see if they accept it (which i think they will)

I dont wanna stop your fun but I never saw my hydras owned by firebats... I mean get 10-12 hydras and even with a n00b micro bats are getting owned easily...
do you have a rep or something?
Huh no sorry... this game isnt like counter-strike... You actually need skills to play broodwar!

Kaotu, FadetoChaos, IntoTheWow,

I am glad you like my stat. Most gosu can't find the correct counter to it when they encounter that build for the first time (there actually IS a pretty solid counter, but I won't reveal it right now... Use your imagination. Just a hint, though: it may or may not involve illusions recall ). You are welcome to go ahead and post this strat on WGT, it's copyright free.

Baal,

You are right. This is not funny. This is effective. I don't play to have fun. I only play to improve and to win.

I'll try to get a replay of this strat when I have time. It is always better to see it in action, because there are some timing and micro tricks you need to understand to make it work against the best players out there.

if u can manage to get defensive matrix on a bat, its actually quite good vs hydras.

In certain situations, firebats can be very deadly vs an assortment of units. I mean hell, vs ulrtalisks, ur firebats aren't gonna do much, but the 4 bats that are firing at it are gonna completely fry the lings around it.

all out firebats is obviously bad (as every1 has made fun of), but, trying to make this thread usefull, i think the bat should be talked about. It is far underused.

One of my biggest fears as a zerg player are terran players who mass firebats. if u have 5-8 firebats, the zerg must do much adapting. It requires twice as much micro everytime u attack a terran force. Firebats also have more life than marines, and 1 armor.

As baal mentioned earlier, bats are awesome at drawing lurker fire as well.
Happiness only real when shared.

lol that would mean that like 2 or 3 firebats have the same damage but more SPLASH RANGE than an archon

It looks like firebats dont beat hydra, unless terran can cast dark swarm on top of them.
