It doesn't do alot of damage, but it's effective in stopping drops and altering your opponents build. If he was going 2 fac tank, hes going to need to add an armory or engineering bay, and than turrets/goli after. Both alternatives get massacred by tank/wraith (mostly tank in beginning). The basic flow of the match when i play (2 port wraith is the build i use usually): Attack with wraith -> expand -> move out with 2-3 tanks + scvs -> contain -> expand -> expand -> expand -> etc. I generally tend to be very passive in this matchup and try to get as much of a defensive advantage as i can. To attack a defensive terran you need at the least, twice as many troops, or ridiculous micro. ive always failed at making wraith.. perhaps u could teach me on a replay??

fac port or fac port port into expo - usually you see what opponent has, harass with wraith early or not while making 1 fac tank, cc and switching to factories or tank/wraith, unless opponent makes fast expo of same build where 1 fac mass port can work fast expo - expand fast with turret/siege tank and then go into mech(usually) or "suprise" mass wraith(good vs tank/wraith users who get expo after you and then you can catch them off guard with wraith before they switch to mech) variations/suprise builds - 2 fac gol or vult and then add 2 ports for wraith. I didnt say what dies to what because every game is different and writing longass essays on each minor build is pointless. Just shared few opening ideas.

anyway i guess i should answer this question... i always go random cos its more fun and i like it when they get pissed off when i wont select a race...if it ends up tvt ill go 3 port wraitha or marine rush , i dont often do many long tvt because if i have a long tvt i could have had 2-3 GG's in other matches by that time , know what i mean

Then you drop his main with a huge amount of tanks and some goliaths. Go back with your dropships don't let them die, and then get reinforcements. Drop either his cliff or on the same spot if your units are still alive.. they probably are since killing sieged tanks is a bit hard.

2 fac port gollie drop i drop 4 goliaths behind his mineral line asap. the gollies can also counter a very early drop (1fac port), wraiths, and 4 gollies own a tank without seige. this is not fool proof but i find it makes the game more interesting to go on the offensive rather than both tank/turret whore straight away

if u have center map control it doesn't really matter if wraiths are better or gols are.however if the map is pretty much open with room for flanking in the center (luna) gols are better. if the map is pretty tedious, lacking room for flanking (chow chow and korhal) wraiths are better. LT is with wraiths slightly holding the upper hand compared to gols i think becoz TvT is a matchup that allows half of watever troops u have to defend safely, using the OTHER half of troops to gain another expansion is a very common style, which also leads to too many 30 to 1 hr long TvTs if both sides really play too safe with perfect timing for defending expos. this is why randomly scattered turrets DO matter these allow some amount of recon to react fast enough to anything the other terran does, not to mention a lone turret somewhere on the map can later hold the key to securing expos OR tank turret map control in late game. whoever "gets there and holds it first wins"
