Hello once again my faithful fans, the both of you, after many many months of me being a lazy bastard, i made the second part of my old replay series, and i hope you will find it enjoyable. For those of you who haven't seen part one, you can find it here :
The two of you who are familiar with my work can go straight to the battle report ! Lets get the ball rolling, this time i will be reporting on a game between Ameba[S.G] a zerg that can kill you just by looking in your general direction, and a ancient toss by the name of enusung[GsP]. This was the first replay of korean players going at it that i have ever seen, it blew my mind and made me quit bgh, enjoy.
As the game starts, we have the protoss spawning at top left position, and the zerg on bottom right, the map is Neo Forte ( i miss it )
High tech aliens
Plain ol slimy aliens
Eunsung sends a probe out early, obviously up to no good, while ameba, being zerg and all, just makes some drones.
Bisu build !!!!
Hey wait, this doesn't seem to be the bisu build, what the...
Ameba is doing something we dont see much these days, adding a second hatchery in his main before expanding, and a pool right after, meanwhile eunsung has sent out one brave zealot soul to chase down a lone scouting drone and wreak havoc on the unsuspecting zerg population.
Now whats this all about ?
Come back here and fight me like the ma... erm zerg you are.
Upon arriving at the choke of the dreaded zerg enemy, the zealots set up formation while a probe starts building a pylon and some cannons, but ameba is having none of that and soon some zerglings ruin the probes fun.
I dont think we have a zoning license for this guys...
... and they didnt, and if its one thing zerglings hate, its illegal building.
After seeing those mean zerglings tear down his buildings, enunsung deduces that they will soon come to his base hungry for me, so he starts setting up defences and manages to hold off the slimy invaders with the help of a cannon, ameba uses the confusion to expand twice.
I'd make a 300 reference but im scared of getting crucified by the internet hordes
zerg's doing what zerg's do best, expanding.
After chasing off some rather annoying zerglings, eunsung expands himself, and uses his gathered zealot horde to put a stop to ameba's 3rd expansion, some more zerlings drop by to save the expansion and kill the zealots but not before they get the expo, run in and kill a few drones. Good times are had by all. After finally dispatching the troublesome zealots, ameba decides its time for a counter attack.
These protoss aren't even fighting back ! Easy as dragoon icecream !
Thats one way to open a door i guess.
Some zerglings manage to claw their way into eunsungs base, but die a photon related death soon after, but not before scouting important tech buildings. Ameba is doing some teching himself, he has a den up and a spire soon done.
Just like them bug zapper those fancy city slickers have.
Marvel at the power of zerg technology, thats not just any ordinary slime !!
Soon after his spire is done, ameba decides hes gonna end it right here and now, assembling his brave, albeit a bit stupid troops, he attacks, he kills some cannons with his mutas and lings, but sairs come to save the day and eventually the attack is repelled, at this point, ameba is not pleased (-.-).
How many cannons must we kill before they let us at those probes ?!
As soon as the imminent threat is over, eunsung starts adding more gateways, obviously pleased with him selfs, who are these mere bugs to stand in his way ? He moves out of his base and starts setting up a 3rd expansion, but the damn bugs are one step ahead of him, obviously the work of some foul magic !
One step in front of the bugs !!!!
Meanwhile, somewhere else...
Using the fact that eunsung has obviously gone to the bathroom without pausing, ameba sneaks some lings in and shuts down eunsungs fancy new expansion, he sure is goona be pissed when he comes back from the bathroom. Eunsung chases off the troublesome pests and sets about expanding once again, only to be thwarted once more, this time by lurkers.
kekeke, ninja sneak attack.
Why are there spines where my base is supposed to be (T_T)?
Finally back from the bathroom, eunsung decides its about damn time he wrecks some zerg stuff, so he sends his army to wreck ameba's newly made 4th base, but ameba shows a terranesque level of camping and fends it off, eunsung gathers his troops once again for a crack at the lower expansion, and even manages to break through, but before he can step on some puny drone necks a tide of zerglings mops up his troops.
Well il be damned, those spines aren't just at my expansions, i wonder what they are.
Breaking out the REAL big bug zappers.
Eunsung finally gets his 3rd up and running, and decides, what the hell i might as well take a 4th 5th and a 6th while im at it. Ameba expands twice more, lest he be mocked forevermore by other zerg's for getting beaten at a zergs game, expanding. Also he throws up a hive and some fancy looking tech buildings, but who cares about that when there's expanding to be done.
I wonder how many of these i can take before actually picking a fight ?
\ The minimap does not predict good fortune for ameba.
Ameba decides it's go time and throws up a few swarms, but he kinda forgot to bring any units except for a few soon to be dead zerlings. Eunsung, busy with the swarms fails to notice another band of lings entering his new base and making a snack of his expansion.
At this point, i think the colors on my monitor got screwed up, im seeing these red archons, go figure.
Yum, nexus, tastes like chicken.
After snacking on some nexuses the lings finaly get shot down by the newly formed cannons in bottom left main base, after a brief ceremony for his fallen lings, ameba launchers a series of assaults on Eunsungs expansions and some ultralisks (crap where did they come from ?(O_o) ) manage to crack that hill nexus.
Im not sure about protosses, but as a terran player, this usualy isnt a good place to be in.
Oh how the mighty have fallen, not so tough now hill nexus !
In a dazzling change of game pace and tactics the both players... well erm, expand again (the dreaded hill nexus lives again !), but this time with a LOT more cannons and sunkens since their new bastions of power are, well in the same neighborhood.
What the heck, i have extra money anyway.
Not quite as fancy as the house across the road, but it will do.
Ameba decides its time to pay his neighbor a visit, a not so friendly visit, now thats all and good, time for some attacks anyways, but with sunkens, what the hell ?
No worries, its just some more terranesque camping...
...What in the name of... Are those things moving towards my base ?
Meanwhile somewhere else, ameba sends a commando drop squad, the lads manage to take out a whole bunch of tech and gates, eunsung is wondering, why cant we all get along ?
Needs more ketchup.
I think its time to set up a new command post.
Eunsung, realising he just lost a good part of his production and tech facilities does the only rational thing, starts making carriers and dark archons !!
Ahh, the Utopia Planetia ship yards how i have longed... no wait, wrong universe .
Some more of those weird red archon fellows, i really must get this monitor fixed.
Now at this point, the map is pretty much mined out, and huge stockpiles of resources are had by all, this can only end one way, eunsung starts investing his hard earned money into static defenses and carriers, while ambea, like all good zergs, well just makes a bunch of stuff.
Bah, this sort of thing happens every pvz, so typical !!
Hm, now how did this happen ? Must be somehow related to those weird red archon chaps.
Eunsung, sensing that things arent going to well, makes some more of those strange red archons and somehow starts stealing ultralisks from ameba, im confused. Mustering the full fury of the swarm, ameba attacks the lower left main, spells are flying all around the map, i have no idea whats going on, i start convulsing on the floor much like when i watched that episode of pokemon.
I think my new pets need their rabies shots.
Stuff.
With some elbow grease, and a WHOLE lot of dead zerg, the lower left base finaly meets its end, a few carriers and weird red archons survive to tell the tale.
Well it seems that ultralisks with no upgrades arent that scary after all.
I just dont get it, why done these bugs like my shiny buildings ?
After seeing the might hill nexus fall again, eunsung decides its time to play hi last gambit, he uses what minerals he has left to fortify his last base and make peace with his god, expecting the final charge at any second, meanwhile ameba is having some fun.
uh, whats gonna happen here, where are those drones going ?
Must be humiliating getting your shit ruined by drones.
Its time to end this once and for all, the whole map is mined out, there is nothing more left to do but gather the troops and join one last glorious battle, Eunsung cowers in his base behind a wall of those weird red archon and cannons.
Even the drones hate eunsung and want a piece of the action.
The final preparations being made.
The final battle is about to begin, enjoy the show, here, i will even provide you with a soundtrack.
And once the dust and dark swarms have settled, this is the only thing that remains...
Only units left alive on the map, what a way to go.
At the end i would like to say, once again, that my inane writing cannot to justice to this game, and although it may not be as entertaining as the previous one, it is still a great game and blew my mind when i first saw it,
I will provide you with the replay, since i left a ton of stuff out of the game, the original draft had over a 100 screenshots and i just couldnt fit it all in, so consider this like a preview or something.

You should cover up the replay progress bar though imo.
yeah i was thinking about doing that, but i dont really know how i would go about it without manually painting over all the screenshots in paint, its a little more extra work, but ill give it a try with the next edition.

This looks cool, i'd like to watch the rep. You give a link to this thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=83254 which links to BWProgrammers site to get old .exe's. But the link on BWProgrammers site is a 404. Anyone know where I can get the right version? (1.13f according to repdepot).
Does anyone remember an old game on LT, I can pretty much describe the entire thing, it's what really made me want to start playing starcraft for real, and I watched it at least 30 times.
NaDa (Blue Terran, 6oclock) vs Nazgul (Purple Protoss, 9oclock, ID: checkmate) Naz opens 1gate tech, makes 1 zeal and blocks SCV, gets robo before goon range, drops 2 zeal 1 goon in NaDa's base, does some damage. Naz makes battery and pylon near bottom of his base, closest to NaDa, and drops reaver/goon. NaDa counters with tank drops without siege, repeatedly dodging reaver shots and killing multiple goons with tank/dropship micro. Naz gets an expansion, keeps getting vult raided by superior multitasking of NaDa. NaDa wins in the end.
I'd really like to know if anyone had this replay still. Those of you who have seen it know exactly what I'm talking about in how magical it is to watch. It's been years since I've seen it but it's just so vivid when I think about it.

the link to mediafire (my rar file with the exes till 1.16) in the same thread (1 row below the bwprogrammers link) works however, just use that link instead
hf
EDIT: guess you got confused by wording in that threads op, to clarify the mediafire link contains ALL old executables up to 116, ill try to fix that bwprogrammers link too

I think only SCV could do damage under swarm since they have no range, could be wrong though.
i'm not sure if it was intentional, but some of your screenshots don't follow chronological order. otherwise, great report! maybe next time you can do one where zerg doesn't win. zerg winning makes me sad
yes, i noticed it after i was done uploading, it was kind of hard to remember when exactly everything happened in such a long replay, especially when the events happened like 20 seconds apart, like a attack on a expansion ,or that drop on eunsungs main base, sorry that happened, it was kind of confusing for me to sort out 60 screenshots by exact order, and their names like 241412414.jpg didnt help me either . I will try to be more careful about that next time.

i think he was being sarcastic as he is referring "bisu build" as building 1 pylon
just upload all the awesome reps you can, and ill get around to them all, im planing on doing this once a week.
Question to any mod that might be watching this: Should i move this to blog, or make it all into 1 thread, would opening a new one every week for this bother you ?

I don't think opening a new one every week would bother anyone if you keep the quality this high.
Request: hbq vs Testie on R-Point. Insane macro game.

There is a didi vs "gonia119_kr" (which I believe is Boxer) replay here : http://repdepot.net/replay.php?id=1240 (it's the game from the Pimpest Plays 2002) but it's on Lost Temple, not on Legacy of Char. So I don't know if it's what you're looking for.
