The Replays Time Forgot

For my first one, here is Lomo[fOu] (Terran) VS Ameba[S.G] (Zerg) on Luna the final.

The game starts out with Ameba spawning at the top left position, and Lomo dropping down his terran forces on the lower right position, where they start harvesting minerals and planing how to crush each other.

Lomo decides he wants to end this fast since he has other planets to conquer, and lets face it, Shakuras isn't really a catch as far as planets go, so he makes his barracks at 8.

Ameba, suspecting no foul play, decides to go for a normal expansion.

Lomo's punishment squad consisting of 2 marines and some scv start marching upon the zerg base and encounter minimal resistance, once they reach their goal the Scvs swiftly start constructing bunkers in order to thwart Amebas hatchery.


Rushing was never this easy


The first bunker is complete, scvs are planing where to put the second one, and some drones are bothering the marines trying to get in the bunkers.

Lomo starts construction of a second bunker closer to the hatchery, it is complete, but soon goes down, his marines however manage to retreat into the first bunker and continue wreaking havoc, note that ameba has his drones on marine blocking detail at his choke, his drone micro is very good and he manages to crush the puny reinforcements.

as soon as the bunker is up, it get shut down again, but some bold marines manage to run back to the first one

With some patience, and a lot of lings, ameba manages to destroy the second bunker and eviscerate the poor fellows hiding in it, he is back on track. In the mean time Lomo has been using the commotion to start constructing his expansion in his main.

Now that the rush has been dealt with, Ameba begins overseeing the construction of his lair, and sends some of his lings to see what Lomo is up to at his home base, a small skirmish happens with some marines.

Lets call this one a draw ?

As soon as his lair is done, Ameba puts down a den and starts researching lurkers. Lomo however has other plans, and as soon as his expansion is up and running, he amasses some mnm and decides to go cause some trouble.


What ? No mutas ? what a noob.


Ok boys lets light this place up a little.

With some nice micro Lomo takes down one sunk and its ling protectors, but then sees the lurkers are done and rushes up the ramp, he meets some resistance there, but in the end he manages to get inside Amebas base and cause some trouble before the lurkers catch up.


Firebats are useful after all ? Who knew.


And if you ever come back again, we will... erm... kill you ?

But Lomo has tasted blood and he is not letting it go so easily, his next wave of forces come and this time do *slightly* more damage, with some pretty nice micro he manages to mop up some lurkers and in the end even kill the hatchery, but ends up contained by 3 lurkers. Things are not looking good for Ameba.


Hi, have you seen some friends of ours go by this way ?


They are sending a dropship to pick us up, right ? erm.. yeah...

Back at base camp, lomo has 4 barracks, a factory and a starport on the way, things are looking good, lomo is relaxed and is enjoying life. But when things seem darkest for the zerg, a defiler mound is seen going up, when did ameba get his hive ? I have no idea (O_o)

WAT? When did this happen, i was too busy looking at the marine micro (T_T)

Ameba manages to scrape together some lurkers and lings and chases away the remnants of the terran army that busted up his expansion, his defiler mound is up, he is thirsty for revenge (-.-). Lomo in the mean time is still enjoying life, he is seen hunting overlords around his base with his pet wraith.


How many of these terrans do i have to kill ?


Just passing some time, the zerg is dead anyways right ?

Ah, the first defiler has come out, fed on some lings, and is now outside of Lomo's base, up to no good, but its only 1 little defiler, and there is only 1 little lurker and about 10 puny lings, what could they possibly do against the might of the terran armada ?

As the first dark swarms are cast, it is obvious that the tables are turning, Ameba manages to push the terran forces all the way back into their natural... with 1 lurker, swarm seriously should be baned !! Lomo realizes he could probably run through with some troops, and he does, he now has a small army outside of his nat blocking zerg reinforcements.


I can tell you from experience, this is seriously not fun !


Lomo and his band of merry survivors,

Ameba somehow manages to kill a number of scv, and sets the CC at Lomos natural on fire, Lomo is forced to abandon his position and retreat to high ground, but he still has a trick up his sleeve, he has taken the top right main, and will soon be taking the bottom left one too. Will ameba notice it in time ?


Although he is shaken up, Lomo still isnt giving up.


The noble scvs are forced to abandon their post.

Lomo finally sees that this whole swarm thing is getting out of hand, and he mines up the his ramp, while again expanding, this time to the bottom left. Ameba is just being ameba and continues swarming all over the place.


Lets see them zerg critters get in now.


Two hidden expansions now for Lomo, will they pay off ? Tune in next week to find out.

Now lets take a second and look at Amebas drone count, I have no idea how he is doing this, his drone count is so low, and he manages his economy so perfectly it almost make s me wanna regress to zerg.. almost.


This man is insane.


Thats like 8 drones on minerals the whole game !!!

Remember that band of terrans that broke through the swarm on the first zerg push ? Well they are still out there causing trouble where they can, Ameba keeps somehow slipping past them and finally manages to conquer the infamous terran ramp, Lomo cries.


Blocking detail sucks ass (T_T)


As i terran i feel i am in a position to say, that most of the time, this is not a good place to be in.

Lomo manages to reclaim his ramp and claw his way down back to his natural where he tries to establish his expansion again, mines are used, lomo feels safe. But amebe is having non of that, he keeps coming, not even mines will hold him back, in fact they are helping him...


Irradiate all you want, i have 10 drones back at home, il just macro up some more defilers.


Nice minefield, mine if i use it ( get it, mine, mind, i crack my self up).


Also not a good position to be in, terran expert talkin here.

Things are going downhill for Lomo, but hey at least he still has his hidden expansions...


err. im pretty sure you guys arent supposed to be here ?


expansion number 2 has seen better days.

So now both of Lomos expansions are burning up in flames, and Ameba just keeps on coming with swarm and units, after all he has 10 drones at home, why wouldnt he ?


Damned zergling ratted us out.


Defilers managing to cast a swarm before sufferin a gas related death.

With both his expansions in shambles, and swarm all the way up his ramp, Lomo gives his men a last inspirational speech, gathers up the scv and marine forces and prepares for a last stand, if he has to go out, hes gonna go out Starship troopers style, Ameba does not care (-.-).


Erm, with some clever micro Lomo might still be able to save the day ?


Our only regret is that we have but one life to give for Lomo.

In a heroic display of not caring how many of his scvs die, Lomo makes a last stand, and after his last scv has died, taps out, and probably proceeds to smash stuff around his house, this was his game from the start, but Ameba was having none of it.


Hope dies last ? No, Lomo's SCV die last.
