Idra says gg during televised games. If he does it, anyone can. It has nothing to do with being professional, or preventing things like my above example. Idra is not going to say "you really are a terrible player" in a televised game. The rule has no purpose, makes no one better off, obstructs normal procession of games, and makes things non-fun to fans. Would they ban Chalrenge for hiding pylons? Probably not, at least I haven't heard a rule about it. And that's extremely unprofessional, but also mildly entertaining.

A question: Have the typing rules ever been enforced in a case where it wasn't an honest mistake?

However, this is a far cry from anything even remotely like killing StarCraft as a sport. Do you think Leta is going to stop playing because of this? Hell no; he'll be right there in the next game, doing his thing. And why should Bisu, Jaedong, or whomever else stop playing because of this? It is bad and certainly should be complained about and rectified. But let's not blow this out of proportion. Rigidly enforced arbitrary rules are not going to kill StarCraft as a sport. BTW, for those who say that the Ref shouldn't enforce the rule, that he should look to the spirit of the rules rather than the letter... no. You don't want to go down that road. The letter of rules is all we really have. It is objectively measurable and quantifiable. Once you start loosening the rules, then you get stuff like what happens in most sports. One ref calls things "loose", and another calls them "tight". If you use some illegal exploit, but don't seem to gain any advantage by doing it, you should still get hit with the DQ. It doesn't matter whether you did anything with it or not; you used the illegal exploit, you get DQ'd. If you start having subjective calls from refs, then you can get into situations where a ref has to judge whether an illegal exploit actually did anything in the match. Some refs may call it one way, others may call it another. StarCraft, being a videogame, calls all of its internal rules properly: rigidly and objectively (outside of genuine bugs and hacks). StarCraft referees likewise should do the same. The problem in this instance is that the rule is crap, not the people enforcing the rules.

To some people saying he couldn't see that he only typed two "P"s instead of three because his monitor that's probably not the reason. I'm sure he could tell how many times he hit the "P" key, it's just that he was probably used to only doing "PP" instead of "PPP." No idea why it needs to be three "P"s as people pointed out "PP" can stand for "pause please" while "PPP" stands for ???

I remember a game being stopped because one of the players didn't have the second pair of headphones on, the big ones to prevent players from hearing outside noise. Playing with your what, 300+ apm. Then suddenly your monitor starts to be buggy or something. And you know that if you lose a second, it might be something really important, and it might impact the game. I would not wonder if leta panicked and stuff
