Korean and translated. (Source: http://blog.naver.com/mnbgyuiop? Today there was an unfortunate event T_T I knew I would get a warning but I was taken back when he disqualified our team for that. 컴퓨터 문제인데,난 pp 를 쳤는데 라는생각이 들고 그랬었는데 아쉬운일이지만 제가 잘못한거겠죠~?ㅠㅠ 그런거겠죠?. They lost because he typed one extra letter. If he's not angry at kespa, he'll blame himself and that's just messed up. Just to add to this, as a Leta fan, he's definitely been playing worse since then. His games against Iris, Bisu, and in the OSL had some very cringeworthy moments, which is especially worrying since Leta is had been very consistent. Hopefully he manages to pull himself together again.

I must say that I'm in the minority in actually supporting the ruling. The judge did rule according to the rulebook. You can't under any circumstances fault him for that. The problem everyone has is with the rule itself, which is too inflexible. If so, why is there no uproar when the rule was made in the first place? Teams should tell Kespa when they revised the rules that it probably shouldn't be too strict. If the teams don't have problems with it. Then why should Leta not be punished according to the rules? Everyone's saying Kespa sucks. Well, that may indeed be the case. But if all teams say they abide by Kespa rules, then they should. If they don't like it, they can decide not to compete. Or create their own organization for refreeing. Anyway, I feel bad for Leta. But unless his monitor is so bad that he cannot tell the difference between pp and ppp, then it really is entirely his fault. Or the fault of his coaches for not making sure he remembers the rules. Edit: I just want to add that I felt Kespa should give referee some power to determine punishment based on each particular case. And in the worst case scenario, the ability to appeal for something as severe as this. Also, I personally would feel a warning is the most applicable punishment. Mainly because the pause did not occur at time that is detrimental to Kal. At the very worst, they could've ruled a regame, which would be somewhat of a punishment given that Leta had the edge there.

1. their sudden enforcement of an array of new rules that go against what has been considered to be the norm for the last decade of competition pp has been the norm for pausing the game, and thus Leta probably instinctively typed pp. There is no reason pp would cause any confusion or have more negative effects to the opposing player's gameplay than typing ppp, and the vast majority of the esports community believes the judge was an idiot for disqualifying Leta. 2. the unnecessarily harsh punishment given to Leta for a first time violation on such a minor portion of the rule The rulebook stipulates that the ultimate decision is left to the judge. The rules were implemented less than a month ago, and it wasn't like Leta was being bm or had any malintentions by typing pp instead of ppp. The judge should have stopped at a warning instead of throwing a bucket of ice on an otherwise exciting game. 3. the fact that the referee did indeed pause the game to check up on Leta instead of announcing his violation of the rule immediately The ref proceeded as if Leta were being given a timeout, pausing the game and going to check up on Leta's status. The decision to disqualify him only came after he had confirmed that Leta's VGA card had indeed been malfunctioning, went back in to consult the rulebook, and as a result came as a surprise to everyone, including Leta and Kal (they had actually put their headsets back on, ready to play, when the ref came up to make the announcement). And of course, the idiocy of the rules themselves (no more ingame chat, no more ceremonies, no more firebathero thrusting :[ ) There is also plenty of room to argue about the ambiguity of the wording in Kespa's rulebook (the rulebook states "multiple keystrokes of 'p'" instead of ppp on the actual section about pausing). Last but not least, Kespa has refused to make a single comment on this issue, despite the fact that their forum is FLOODED (10 pages+) with threads about the incident, and has not released any information regarding their stance on this issue, which sends a message out to the public that they know they fucked up but dont wanna own up to it at the cost of losing face.

Kespa has finally realized their rules were conflicting and retarded, so they have changed the rules regarding in-game chat and pausing, May 7th 2009. They haven't given an apology or made an official statement about Leta's game though, as they want it to pass by quietly until ppl will forget about it. Korean netizens, being the heroes that they are, are not letting this slip easily, shitting on Kespa for their outrageous behavior, and Kespa is losing any sort of credit that they might have had.
