EvilTeletubby's edit: Hey guys, both Smix and konadora put a lot of effort into the translations, but just happened to post both at the same time. To avoid confusion, I have closed konadora's thread, but here is both of their content; I encourage everyone to read both interviews to get the full experience!

Jaedong, "I'm still tingling"
I definitely won't settle for this one victory,

Your feelings on getting an exciting, reverse win?
- I’m still tingling. Honestly when I was down 0-2, my mind was blank and I was just playing wherever my hands went. Once I gained focus again, I realized I was losing 0-2 and became fully conscious. My teammates and coaching staff came to my booth and encouraged me a lot. My teammates said because they helped me practice a lot, they believed that I would win. After that I gained a lot of confidence, and before the game I felt very tense and felt my body shudder. Once I played strongly, I won the 3rd set, and after that I was mentally focused. Also, as I thought about the people who suffered because of me, I focused in the 4th and 5th sets.

In the beginning you lost the first two sets rather easily – what was the reason for that?
- As I came to play the finals, even right up to the beginning of the match I wasn’t nervous. I felt so comfortable. I think that’s why I gave away the first two sets with an empty mind. In practice, I played against Fantasy’s build and strategy so many times. However, once I was actually playing the game, I started thinking too much and thought of too many different possible situations. I didn’t get to use my prepared gameplay and because I was thinking too much about my opponent I gave away the first two sets.

Do you think it’s because you were overly confident that you didn’t get nervous?
- I think it’s a bit much to call it over confidence, but it’s the truth to say that I didn’t feel the nerves that are proper for the finals. It’s a problem that’s formed recently. I think it’s something I’ll have to work on.

Once it became 2-2, what thoughts were going through your head?
- Although I did catch up 2-2 after being down 0-2, I was fully aware I could possibly lose 3-2. Therefore I tried not to think I was in an advantageous situation. After the 4th set ended I went to the bathroom and then starting from my coach to my teammates and coaching staff, I received so much encouragement. They convinced me that I had greater momentum than my opponent so I could win and instilled confidence in me. In the match, fortune was on my side, and I was able to win.

Actress Lee Yeon Hee messaged you words of encouragement~
- She’s an actress I’ve always liked, and my coach as a present got me a video message from her. She left me a short message saying that I should definitely win this star league. After I saw that message the thought that I must win filled my head. I’ve never actually met her or talked to her on the phone.

Since the last Daum OSL, it’s the second time a reverse win was successful.
- I saw the Daum OSL finals. When I was losing 0-2, I thought of those finals. Back then GGplay went from being 0-2 to reverse winning 3-2 and I thought to myself that I could do that as well. So I gained confidence. In the finals I have a lot of experience playing terran and I’m very happy that I won this time and I believe it holds a lot of meaning. Because I won through a reverse win, I’m very satisfied and feel a lot of pride as well.

Since your Ever OSL, it’s been 4 seasons – after that initial win, you didn’t do so well in the OSL.
- When I got stuck in the prelims, I watched every game the other players played. I also wanted to play on that stage and fully enjoy a victory. I remember the passion I felt then and this OSL I gained a resolute heart. Because the result was that I made it to the finals and won, I feel incredibly happy. In order that Fantasy wouldn’t beat me, I practiced exhaustively hard. Therefore through today’s victory I believe I’ve learned more lessons.

You must have the desire to win next season as well.
- I’m already worrying about next season. There’s the OSL winner’s jinx, and I’m vowing that I won’t fall to that jinx. I want to wipe away the worries from the people around me. In order to be motivated I will put in a lot of effort, and I will also work hard not to be defeated this season.

Don’t you have the desire to get the golden mouse?
- The Golden Mouse is also something I greatly desire. When I look at my sunbaes (referring to the older veteran players) there are many who have a lot of victories under their belt. In order to catch up to those players, I believe I need to have an equivalent career. I want to win as many victories as I can. Because of that, this victory is incredibly invaluable. I won’t let this be my last victory, but I’ll keep challenging and I not only want to reach the golden mouse but beyond that, I want to create my own unique achievements.

The best current zerg, the one zerg– this is how you are being assessed right now.
- It makes me really happy. I think those are really good words. Because I’m receiving that sort of evaluation, in order to live up to those words I feel the need to practice harder. I put in a lot of effort in order to become better than all the other zerg players, so I believe the fruit of that effort was to be called “the one zerg”. I want to be able to do as well as I physically can.

Today your family and relatives came to watch you.
- The person I was happiest to see was my older brother who is currently enlisted in the army and received a special break just to watch my finals game. I was seriously so happy to see him. I want to tell the military people that I’m extremely thankful. Also, starting from my parents all my relatives that live in Pusan came to see me. A lot of my friends also came to cheer for me. I want to tell all of them that I’m so thankful.

There must be people you’re especially thankful to while you were preparing for the finals.
- The people that come to mind most right now are my teammates. I’m so thankful to them. But it seems my teammates don’t know my feelings (laughs). I want to emphasize this fact. There were a lot of times where even though it was break my teammates helped me, and the result was that I was able to get to where I am today. I also want to thank Coach HanSangYong who always gave me great advice even when I couldn’t see him. Of course, I’m also thankful to my own coach.

What kind of player do you want to become?
- Although I won the victory, after this victory I’m drawing a bigger picture for myself. I’m definitely not going to be satisfied with this victory alone. Instead of saying concretely what kind of player I’ll become, as long as my passion continues I will try my hardest, and I want to live a progaming life where I will never become embarrassed of myself.

Last words you want to say?
- Before because things were so chaotic I forgot to say something. For my finals, starting with Leta, Upmagic, Mind, Hwasin, and Notice all helped me in practice. Whenever the opportunity arises, I will buy a big dinner for them (laughs). I also want to thank my sister in law AhnYunHong who watched over my games and prayed for me. I’m also so sorry that I didn’t get to say this when it was broadcasted, but I want to give a huge thank you to the fans who came all the way to Pusan and also my Pusan fans for cheering for me. I will always work hard to repay your encouragement. I will make it so that you will always be proud of being my fan.

Batoo OSL Finals
"Jaedong will definitely not be satisfied with just this win"

The "Destroyer" Lee Jae Dong (from Hwaseung) has firmly placed himself as the best Zerg after making the greatest comeback.

Following is the interview with Jaedong.

- Your thoughts on your amazing comeback victory.
▲ It's a very tingling feeling. Actually, when I was down 0-2, I just played in a blurred state. When I realised that I was down 0-2, I immediately regained back my focus. My teammates and the coaching staff came to the booth to give me words of encouragement. They believed that I will win because of how much they helped me to prepare. After that, I regained my confidence, and before the game started, I could feel the game sense coming back into me, like an adrenaline rush. I played game 3 aggressively, hence winning that game. After that, I took a great effort to keep my cool, and because I kept thinking of the people who have helped me throughout, I was able to win Game 4 and 5.

- What was your reason for simply giving away the first two sets so helplessly?
▲ I came for the finals, but even until right before the start of the game, I did not feel nervous at all. I felt too comfortable. That is why I think I gave away the first two sets without being able to do anything. During practice, I encountered (Fantasy's) build a dozen times. But when the actual game started, I had too many thoughts in my head, and too many previous matches came into my mind. I did not think about how I should play, and only thought about what the opponent was doing, hence the first two throwaway losses.

- Is it because of your overconfidence that you did not feel nervous?
▲ I don't think it's really correct to say that it was because of overconfidence, but it is a fact that I did not feel the nervousness that I should feel in a finals. It has become a problem nowadays. I think that is a point I would like to correct myself.

- After you tied the score to 2:2, what were your thoughts?
▲ I came back from 0:2 to 2:2, but I still knew that I could lose 2:3. Hence, I tried not to think that I was at an advantage. After the 4th game, when I returned from the toilet, I exchanged a lot of words with my coaching staff and teammates, They helped me gain confidence by telling me that I was psychologically ahead. That, and luck was with me too, hence I won the game.

- You received words of encouragement from the celebrity Lee Yeun Hee
▲ She was a celebrity I really liked, hence as a present to give me encouragement, I received a video message via my coach before the finals. It was a short message that said "Please win this OSL". After seeing that message, I felt that I had to win this OSL. We have never met in person or made a phone call.

- After the previous Daum OSL, this is the second comeback from 0:2 to 3:2.
▲ I watched the previous Daum OSL. When I was down 0:2, I thought of that finals. I thought that since GGPlay could make a comeback, so could I. That was when I became confident. I felt that meeting a lot of Terrans and defeating them in the finals is a good experience. I am happy because I managed a comeback.

- After the Ever 2007 OSL, this is your first victory in 4 seasons. After your first win, you didn't perform well in OSLs.
▲ I watched others play while I was stuck at the prelims. I too wanted to win in the big stage and feel what it's like to win. I reignited the passion that I had when I won and strongly reassured myself for this OSL. The result : I made it into the finals and I won, so I'm quite satisfied. I think Fantasy prepared extremely well beyond my thoughts. Hence, I learnt a lot from this finals.

- I think you're eying on the upcoming Starleagues as well.
▲ I'm already thinking a lot about the upcoming seasons. There is the OSL curse, but I am continuously reassuring myself that I will not fall to the curse. I want to defeat everyone around, and I'll try even harder than this season.

- Are you hungry for the Golden Mouse?
▲ I am extremely keen on the Golden Mouse. There are a lot of seniors who have a great winning rate. I believe that to catch up to them, I'll need a strong career. I want to have the most wins. That is why this finals is not enough. I want to not only win the Golden Mouse, but to write my own history as well.

- You are being currently labeled as the best zerg.
▲ It's a good feeling. It's because of such expectations that I keep pushing myself. I keep trying to be better than the other zergs, and it's because of that commitment that I believe I am called 'Top One' ( basically 'Number one' ). I want to be the best that I can be.

- Your family and relatives came down to watch you play today.
▲ What I was most happy about was that my brother took a leave from his military duties to watch me play. I want to say 'thank you' to all the audience. Along with my parents, many of my relatives who reside in Pusan came to watch me play, and my friends came to support me too. I really want to say 'thank you very much' to them.

- I think there are quite a lot of people who have helped to prepare you for the finals and to whom you'd like to thank.
▲ The people I can think of now are my teammates. I am really thankful. But I think they do not understand my feelings (laughs). I want to emphasize this feeling. Even during their breaks, they came to help me practice, hence I was able to obtain good results. Also, I would like to thank Han Sang Yong coach who doesn't appear much, as well as my manager (head coach).

- What kind of player do you wish to be in the future?
▲ I have won, but I am already planning on what to do next. I am definitely not satisfied with just this victory. If I had to answer, I would say I would like to be a progamer that will continue to play with passion and do my best so that I would not be embarrassed of myself.

- Your final words?
▲ It was too hectic just now, so I could not say this. Leta, Upmagic, Mind, Hwasin and Notice helped me to practice. If there is a chance, I'll like to treat them to a meal (laugh). I would also like to thank my sister-in-law for watching my matches and praying for me. I am sorry for not saying this in the broadcast, but I would like to thank fans from both Pusan and outside Pusan who have traveled far to support me. I will be a better player as my way of saying thanks for your support. I will make you guys proud to be a fan of me.

Well I must say Fantasy's got quite a unique style, especially with his vultures. Though after JD practiced agains Hwasin's bio, it's a good thing fantasy didn't try an SKT or biomech build against him!

Thank you so much for this!

I love it when players list their cross-team practice partners. It makes the whole "individual league" much bigger than one person.

This is so beautiful ~~~ I just became a huge JD fan. GO LEE JAEDONG

Cool stuff Jaedong. Nice to see him win another SL. Perhaps we will see LYH and LJD relationship? =o Nawwwwwwww. Savior's going to put up a fight haha.

Congratulations to Jaedong - he really seemed like he wanted this so badly. We all watched it up in Seoul (the train fare to Busan is so expensive -_- and it was lovely to see his reactions at the end (and those of his mum lol.) I felt bad for Fantasy getting his second silver, but he still has so much potential to come back and win. Thanks for the excellent translations as always.

Man, Jaedong is starting to rake up titles. He'd be a golden mouse winner by now if he had beaten rock lol. He's so much better than he was last year, especially mentally. I really can't wait for him to show us what's possible in 2009.I hope that sense of star we saw in game 5 will be the next big evolution for Jaedong in 09'. Then every one will be in trouble.

JAEDONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
When I looked out the window, I saw my family, and my teammates... and my coach who suffered so much because of me... and I realized that I could not fall easily in the last game. -LEE. JAE. DONG. ZERG. LEGEND. HERO.

According to Reach, he is the fastest learner he has ever seen. He start bw only like 2/3 years ago. Infact, his bw history knowledge is so limited, he didn't even know what the map Guillotine was.

Then every one will be in trouble.

how bout queens.
