Hello, a friend of mine gonna open a new international store, it gonna sell all kind of items, also progaming stuff, such like keyboards and mice...I've suggested him to sell Korean keyboard DT35 to starcraft/wacraft players, especially to ppl in US and Europe, where DT35 Korean keyboard is not availbe (yet).
But the problem is he is not sure if there is enough ppl who interested and gonna buy this, because Sumsung DT35 is not very known keyboard in western country.
So I wanna ask TL ppl, do you wanna buy DT35 for 30$(American dollars)? If there is enought interests, he promised me to sell to teamliquid member little cheaper than normal price.
Poll: Do you wanna buy DT35 for 30$? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No
Poll: Black or White? (Vote): Black (Vote): White
What DT35 Keyboard? DT35 is the best(?) keyboard for starcraft in Korea. Players like Bisu, Savior, Stork, Boxer all use DT35 keyboard. Is Korean characters on this keybord? The keybord is 100% REAL Korean, and yes, with Korean characters
Is shipping cost included? No it's not, we ship via EMS, but we donno about the shipping cost yet.
What is the url of the store? http://www.dealperfect.com/
updated: keyboard is online!
My friend committed that all products are genuine,If any counterfeit goods found, he will compensate customers for the product and freight charge.

what would the shipping cost approximately
|
Would it be usable as a regular US104 keyboard? I don't know how this kind of thing works, really.
|
On January 27 2009 05:41 theqat wrote: Would it be usable as a regular US104 keyboard? I don't know how this kind of thing works, really. Yes, it's same as US keyboard, expect it has korean character on keyboard.
|
I might get it just for the Korean characters on it...
But atm, I have a G11 that's fairly new (not even a year old). :X
|
I would buy one, but I doubt it's the best keyboard for sc:bw. Wasn't it that its so widely used among progamers because its so cheap and yet has a nice key-hit-feeling?

ps/2 port is annoying as shit.

Haha, it's pretty good, why don't you tell your friend to make every other key black/white and make it a Jangbi keyboard

Definitly white would buy one - my old keyboard sux
|
Already have a new keyboard, got 2 of the same kind black and white, then alternated the key colors Jangbi style.
|
hahaha jangbi keyboard is so goofyyy
|
I would buy two for jangbi style.
|
Doesn't this cost $5-10 in Korea?

lol yeah probably buy one. depend on shiping
|
Buy two, and switch the keys of hotkeys. You got two balling keyboards =).
|
Yeah I would sell them if I were your friend b/c a lot of people want to be like the pro-gamers and will buy them.

I thought the samsung models were out of production, and they were replaced by the QSenn ones? The new model (used by Jangbi, among others) has a usb connection so presents no problems on that front.
$30, while higher than the raw price, is a good price imo considering shipping, the trouble of setting stuff up like this, customs, etc.

yea but honeslty, how do you plan on getting a hold of it =/
considering low sales volume for something like this (i'd imagine), having high margins seems fairly natural.
|
If it makes me play like Stork, sure.
|
I've asked my friend about shipping, there is two kind way of shipping. The shipping cost is also depend on what country do you live. EMS: ~15$ to US, pretty safe (recommend) Airmail: ~5$ to US, but there is a low risk of losing baggage (even the risk is very very low, my friend doesn't recommend, because the store is new and he doesn't want complaints on his Paypal account and website)
|
i'll buy one!
i'm getting the black one if it does happen and if someone gets the white one, please pm me, we could trade keys so i can have a checkerboard

I'd get one. Probably just for the Korean characters too.

is this the old model without the USB interface?
NM it does have it. DAmn 20+ for shipping.

Whats so special about this keyboard?
|
On January 27 2009 08:37 sl wrote: Whats so special about this keyboard? Nothing, a lot of progamers use it, so people think it's awesome, but the general reason progamers use them is because its just a generic, very cheap keyboard with english & korean characters on the keys.
I guess while being generic, it has a decent tactile qualities useful for playing SC (effort required to press keys, springiness etc)
|
no , i dont want it looks like any old keyboard you can buy at wal-mart for $5
|
awesome i would probably buy it if we get good feedback & reviews
|
being a protoss player id buy it simply because it has DT in its name
|
Why do people want this keyboard? Because the pros use it?
You could get a much better keyboard for $30.

On January 27 2009 11:40 justiceknight wrote: whats the diff between this keyboard and normal keyboard other than korean words It's a cheap, very easily replaceable keyboard that many if not all pros use and like the feel of the key presses. When importing of course you lose out on the cheap price and ease by which you can just bust out a new one whenever you feel like it, so I don't really think its worthwhile for a foreign player to pursue but thats just me. I am a fan of cheap keyboards though I don't like those fancy ones with macros and stuff cause I ultimately end up spilling water on my keyboard anyway

How much faster will this keyboard make my APM?

i would buy it as long as there was a secret button that only we would know about so nobody could just come here and register to get the discount, it would be our secret society

I might i have to find my credit card its under 100 newspapers 3 monitors 12 keyboards and 6 mouses all in one box

Progamers use it because it's very cheap. They buy them in bulk so when they break their keyboards from constant pounding they'll have a new one ready :p

Actually all Samsung keyboards are OEMs. The original versions were out of production but the manufacturer made their own QSENN DT-35 version without samsung.
They are "made in china" anyway :> I heard the some early versions of original Samsung DT-35 were made in korea.

Food isn't cheaper in Korea.. nothing really is cheaper at least not in Seoul, the price of the keyboard is high as hell though, even if it is hard to get for non-koreans.
The keyboard is mostly so widely used because its the standard keyboard most of the internet cafes have so everyone is used to it, it doesn't have anything magical to it.
I'm mostly looking for one because of the korean letters on it, would make typing korean much easier.

Voted no. $30? Come on. I think it's a rather nice keyboard but not for that kind of price -___-

is there a QWERTZ version of this keyboard avaiable? i would totally buy it

looks like a normal standard keyboard to me lol

After reading those reviews of lightinthebox, I'm not so keen about going anywhere near there. The next cheapest place I've seen online sells them for about $60 incl shipping so I guess if it's less than that people would buy it?

I was excited at the possibility of getting these keyboards directly from China (hoping that it would be cheaper than the link above) but the website is extremely cluttered. Hopefully they will put that keyboard up on the website and aren't just toying with our love for progaming.

I will probably buy one soonish. But if you want to sell equipment like this, you might want to sell some cool mousepads too and maybe logitech G1 or logitech minioptical mice. Maybe you could even make a "bundle" with a mouse and a keyboard and maybe a pad.
But i dont know how many would buy that.

For my experience, many Big B2C website do not ship their items via sea...
Like my former company DX,all the items are shipped via airmail, and airmail is very cheap..
Because this keyboard weight 1050 g,so the shipping fee is very expensive.
But it is still cheaper than EMS,DHL,TNT ..... : )
Hope your understand

I bought two dt-35 today for ¥200 (~$28). I only bought them because I collect keyboards. I got both the black and the white. The dt-35 is garbage and is only popular because before the progamers were famous and rich they all used this janky, standard keyboard cuz its the cheapest one..since they grew up on it they still use it.. make no mistake though. it is not any better than the basic microsoft keyboard.
The DT-35 keyboard features a silent, non-responsive style that most Americans are used to. Before coming to Asia I also used these cheap keyboards like logitech "gamer" keyboards. They are garbage with neat packaging, lights, and extra keys.
The quality keyboards depends not on how many keys they have but on the joint system they use to connect the keys to the input board. The mechanical, old school, keyboards do not ever jam...ever. Brands such as Cherry, Steelseries or the Taiwanese Jaki all feature joints that actually use older, more expensive technology. The newer silent style is cheaper to produce but much shittier quality and jams frequently. Check out the comparison below
New School Shit + Show Spoiler +Samsung DT-35, Logitech, Razer notice that there is no buffer between the key and the board itself. When you press a key it mashes on top of thin plastic membrane and you get a stroke. After a few months jamming happens if the membrane gets stuck.
Old School Mechanical + Show Spoiler + This shot comes from my Jaki. Its the same system used by steelseries, cherry, etc here we see a buffer between the key and the input board. one only has to mash the key half way to register a stroke. these keyboards feel so amazing when playing/typing. not only are they faster (since they requires less pressure) but they feel better and sound amazing with the clackity clack ftw
In conclusion, the samsung dt-35 is nice because its cheap, has fanboy appeal, and utilizes USB. The USB thing is kinda irrelevant though since all modern keyboards feature this. Keyboards which use the 3 part joint are more expensive but worth it to connoisseurs.

Brands such as Cherry, Steelseries or the Taiwanese Jaki all feature joints that actually use older, more expensive technology. The newer silent style is cheaper to produce but much shittier quality. Wow, shipping is as expensive as the keyboard =.=;

For me, I wouldn't buy just because it doesn't even have a volume control nob. If it was half the price, I may consider it as a gift for a friend.

$40 for a $5 keyboard hmm....

i want a mechanical keyboard, but my roommates will throw shit at me if they're sleeping

Steelseries use MX blacks, not browns. Also most Cherry keyboards I have seen pictures of don't use browns but blues.

this is pretty expensive. the keyboard is nothing special, just common. i wanted a bunch of these but at a cheap price, so i definitely won't be getting these. i just wanted a bunch of the same cheap keyboard with the korean layout that i could use for everything.
i'm actually going to korea next fall and i plan to pick up several of them when i find them for cheap (<=$10 each.)

The DT-35 sold by www.lightinthebox.com just weight 0.5kg,I am sure they are fake,or at least not the genuine Dt-35,anyone who bought it will know.My Dt-35 weight 1.05KG,and I can guanrantee it is the DT-35 that used in Korea league match.
I am good at playing oStarCraft , I know which DT-35 is the genuine one.My purchasing price in China will cost $14.34, and I will at least get 5$ as profit, and paypal will charge some money for the deal, that's why the keyboard sold 22.13$.
My website has been updated many other interesting items ,and I will put my time to sell other item , I will never promote my DT-35 keyboard in TL,if anyone want to buy this item ,you can buy it in my website directly.
|
If anyone can get the DT-35 less than 10$ and can guarantee it is the genuine one ,please visit my website and contact me ,I will bought 1000 of the DT-35 from you.

Even food is probably cheaper around there. And would progamers use it if it wasn't good? I mean pretty much every progamer uses DT-35. There has to be something about it, since there are many cheap keyboards. And that is why people want one, me include. I'm mostly looking for one because of the korean letters on it, would make typing korean much easier.
just memorize the korean keyboard and u wont have to drop 30+ for a standard keyboard

I bought a DT35 from dealperfect ~~ it was only 20$ which is fair for a low end keyboard, the shipping was high but thats the price you pay for it being in korean. I was skeptical at first, it was shipped at a reasonable speed (would have expected a little faster for shipping that expensive though). Its honestly an amazing keyboard, it feels sooooooooo nice on the hands, I feel like I'm never constrained by it and the keys press down extremely smooth. It sucks typing on my work keyboard now because I'm so used to my DT35. This is an amazing keyboard in terms of performance. If you want to be LOL ULTIMATE GAMER SUPER you can buy another stupid keyboard with macros and emotes or whatever, but if you are actually looking for performance I would highly recommend it. A few of my gamer friends and even family members laugh when I say I got a korean keyboard shipped from asia but after they use it they all agree that it feels amazing. All in all I would totally recommend the keyboard for anyone whos willing to shell out the money.

I enjoy my Saitek Eclipse keyboard =P. Got it from Amazon for $30.00 brand new. Not for the blue adjustable backlite btw, but its quiet, comfortable, and really improved my gaming/comfort level. I love playing at night with the lights turned off ><

Oh my god i am freaking loving my dt-35 i just got it today and it feels so good on the hand. nothing can explain how good it feels it works GREAT for starcraft i suggest you all get one IT IS NOT THE SAME AT ALL as the a generic logitech or dell keyboard trust me i used a logitech 200 for years and it SUCKS in comparison to this keyboard. The only thing that people will have to get used to is that the dt-35 has slightly more compact keys than the average american Keyboard. All i can say is wow this buy is so absolutely worth it. It feels like a model m but more gosu.

So I'm probably going to buy this pretty soon and it seems like it'll be much better than my current keyboard so I hope it comes in soon ... my current one is the laptop keyboard
EDIT: Everyone is saying how its $30 dollars or around there, how come it shows up at $41.49?

if every progamer uses it, then there are obviously some redeeming qualities to it
(i've never used one, but it's pretty easy to see that it's worth getting for starcraft)

Of course we define comfort the same as everybody else in this world.
Also, some progamers also like a mouse speed and some like a lower. But obviously that means we should go with the progamer we like rather than the setting we like.

I love dt35 ...
the F keys are so easy to use in starcraft with it, and i also love the feel of the keys... untill i spill too much trash into the keyboard and the keys become hard to press at least.

I'm looking to get a new keyboard to replace the crappy Dell one I'm currently using. I was wondering do these keyboards use Cherry switches? I ask because the other keyboard I was looking to get was the Filco Tenkeyless keyboard which uses cherry browns and is what I'm looking for in a new keyboard. If the DT35 does indeed use cherry's that'd be great and would save me ~$70. Any info is appreciated! :D

Does anyone have a pic of Jangbi's keyboard?
|
I bought a dt 35 from dealperfect.. Waste of money. Upon arrival the box was really messed up, bent every which way, torn a bit. Also, on the keyboard in various spots is this grease type of stain, makes my hands feel really slippery and greasy when i touch it. Also, my spacebar won't work on the right half of it. its permanently stuck inside the keyboard.... so i can only press the left side, and even then its really hard to push.
I wanna buy one, just not from these guys again.

Hmmm... I was thinking of picking one of these up from this site, but now I'm a little concerned due to the post above. Maybe you just had some bad luck. Did you try contacting the site for a refund or replacement or anything?
Does anyone know of another site that will ship this keyboard to the US for a fair price?

No i haven't bothered contacting them.. Reason being when I was talking back & forth with one of their guys about the free "gift" given for TL.net members ( which i also never received). He also told me my package would be shipped on a monday, but didn't until friday. Also they were really dodgy with e-mails, would receive a reply 2 - 3 days after I sent mine (which was always immediately after getting theirs). I got really fed up with them. Plus, I also threw away the box & crap out of rage, so I only have the keyboard i think rite now. Just collecting dust, & every flying particle on those wacky ass grease stains...
quickedit: I think the keyboard is awesome, just i wanna get one that isn't messed up :/
since it seems so out of reach though, I've been looking and (maybe) have found some alternatives?
the keytronic ones seem similar: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000063&Description=keytronic&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&Order=PRICE
not sure what the difference is between the $10 (9.99) - $20 (19.99) ones.
also possibly the one in tasteless's keyboard blog? i cant find the link for that one anymore unfortunately.

yes. and the keyboard is shitty also. do not buy these for more than $12 MAX! for sentimental value sure... the only reason all the progamers use this is because they are all copy cat collectivists.
i have two of these (white and black) they were bought just to collect. i got them for 100 yuan each which is already over priced. they sit on my shelf gathering dust. paying $30 for this crap keyboard and shipping would be silly.

here is a link to nice keyboards http://www.99hk.biz/keyboards.htm i have no experience with that vendor.. just use it to see what the quality keyboard brands are. all those listed are excellent except the RAZER keyboards which have cool features and tons of keys... but are still crappy jointed keys.
this is the keyboard i use.. it is amazing and about 2/3 the size of a standard keyboard. + Show Spoiler [jaki] + notice the joint. this is what you want. you do not want the plastic thing that is in most standard/cheap keyboards

filco is to cherry as lexus is to toyota. don't get me wrong. dt-35 is fine for playing SC... but its not the best overall keyboard and it gets stuck often... as ret mentioned. don't be sarcastic. i told you the reason progamers use dt35.. because 10 years ago that is what they used.. now all the youngins just copy. progamers are good at SC but most of them know jackshit about computers and hardware.
