If you're talking about people who won't let you drop them then unplug your modem so you -can- drop them and save the replay and if its a ladder (icc) game you can report them. If you just mean people dropping at bad times thats not a drophack 90+ percent of the time.

I ask because it's happening too often and if there is a solution I want to know about it

I see people dropping without the drop screen all the time. It happens. It happens to me and I don't think I hack. It happens more often at the start of games. And if they just drop from the game, then what's the big deal? If it's public bnet, just shrug it off, it's another win. If it's ladder, save the rep and report them.

Than the drop screen appears goes to 0 and we cant drop him. That is a hack because after 10 mins the drop screen goes away suggesting that hes checking if we left or not and if we're still there he puts it back on. Ah yeah i think that an oblivan feature to keep the drop always at 0 something like that >-< such malicious hacks that have been made clearly jsut greef hacks

I've played in a couple phantom games where the phantom who gets attacked drops the attackers to keep himself in the game.

I've been inactive for 1.5 years and never before seen anything like it, and, like I said before alot of these cocky bastards tell you in advance the second before they drop you, it's definantly not a coincidence. If you think I should just shrug it off then I'll put it this way, the last game this happened in was a 3v3 going on 50 mins with a massive struggle for mid, all six players were still in the game and one of my teammates just built up a big enough force of carriers to turn the tide but as soon as he brought them to mid and started wreaking havoc he was dropped, afterwards when I called hacks I was dropped and then I found out so was my other teammate, that's not even the most blatant of cases I've encountered.. maybe you like your time being wasted but I'd rather finish my games, hacker or no hacker present. All I was looking for was a solution but it seems there isn't one so this thread can be closed for all I care ![]()

I would like to point out that all of the major hack sites (zg and bwhacks and a few others) dont publicly condone making hacks that disrupt the flow of the game. They only support annoyance and advantage hacks, such as multicommand. So for example they dont support what I will later describe as a "Targeted drop hack" I would like to point out that there is a HUGE difference between a desynchronization hack and a hack that drops someone else. There are 4 ways to disconnect. 1) Pull the cable -- Physically pull the internet cable out and countdown 2) desync hack -- disconnects the player that is the one using the hack -- if 4 players are in the game the player hits a hotkey (usually delete) and the hack modifies a memory address (such as the mineral count) this immediately desyncs the client from the other players dropping them with out a countdown. This only disconnects 1 player and it is the player WITH the hack, giving them a disconnect. It is worth noting that sometimes the game gets desynced (especially at the beginning on bnet) sometimes even without hacks so this is not grounds for immediate accusation. Sometimes it happens to people using certain hacks because the insert key is right next to the delete key, the insert key is generally the key assigned to toggling the map hack. 3) Targeted drop hack -- This is the rarest type of hack, if there are 4 players and lets say player1 has the drop hack, he can send a signal to one of the other 3 players and disconnect them while the game will continue The hacks do exist but you have to get them in one of the following ways 1) Program them yourself 2) pay someone for a copy (usually $100-$200) 3) have a private friend that is willing to give you one 4) Delay hacks -- This type of hack is kind of common because it is a bit easier to program. There are quite a few ways to stop the game from progressing, one example given in this thread is where it flat out stops the countdown timer at 0 and you cant drop the person. There are a few other ways to achieve this. And some of the smarter hackers have programmed hacks that send you a prompt saying something like "Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to end StarCraft, and Error has occurred" you think it is legit so you do it. When you do this; they resume the game and get a win, the simple way to beat this is to simply leave your computer on and out wait them. Most Script Kiddies have about 10 minutes worth of patience. I know there are other ways to disconnect but these are the more common ones. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The biggest problem with people that play games is that almost everyone has some knowledge of how cheats work because they think that if they admit to any knowledge it makes them a cheater. I have no problem talking about exactly how everything works, and then saying even though I know how this works I don't use it because I want a fair fun game. Most people deny ANY knowledge of how this stuff works. Another thing worth pointing out in the UMS game mentioned in the original quote up top, it is more likely that there were triggers in the UMS map that allowed the phantom to drop specific players then the phantom having any real hacks himself.

All I was looking for was a solution but it seems there isn't one so this thread can be closed for all I care ![]() There is no solution, because it is an arms race. Unless you are the one making the arms, or the defense you are powerless. The main goal is to get you upset, and then laugh about it (or get sexually aroused by it or whatever they get out of it). In this case they have clearly accomplished, if you show no reaction they get no satisfaction. I would like to take this time to point out that by my calculation 50%-80% of all players on Bnet us hacks. And the vast majority of them will deny it. So if you are playing in a pub (especially BGH or fastest) with 6 players, then there is a VERY HIGH probability there will be a hacker in the game.

The reason why the replay is necessary is when they use this hack it causes a discrepancy(spelling?) between the game length reported by the server and the game length on the replay.
