Certain ground units hover. All workers, Vultures, Archons, and Dark Archons are considered hovering. Two properties distinguish hovering units from ordinary ground units: Hovering They have an acceleration and deceleration time, akin to that of an air unit. While other ground units stop on a dime if ordered to hold position, hovering units take a moment to stop moving. Conversely, they have a brief acceleration period, during which they move below their maximum speed. This effect is responsible for the "rhythm" of harvesting workers. As with air units, the deceleration can be prevented or delayed by issuing frivolous move commands. They will never trigger a Spider Mine. They take damage from spider mines like all other ground units, but the mines will never target a hovering unit. For this reason, if loaned a detector, workers can make excellent mine-sweepers if all combat units are unavailable, since a mine dies in four hits from a worker. Absent detection, you can safely ignore an opponent's attempt to deny or delay an expansion by sending the workers in anyway, since the mines can't attack buildings, either. This is only "safe" if you have good map control over the area. So hts aren't in this category and set up spider mines. One mine is enough to kill one ![]()

Dragoon or other unit will trigger the mine, and not always leave the battlefield, yet because high templars are so physically frail and weak, they will unquestionably pass away from a mine getting triggered and exploding nearby On October 17 2021 07:10 TeamThinkQuick wrote: So, wait, does a HT by itself set off a mine or not? OP and pebble provide conflicting accounts. Clarification would be appreciated. I think pebble was clearly setting up a joke ![]()
