As a short introduction, my name is Jaewon and I've been active within the 2v2 community since the PGTour and iCCup days. I'm a friend of Scan and would to promote his discord server.
We've been waiting for many months for the 2v2 team ladder to be released, but it is taking forever. I can't wait any longer! Since we don't have a 2v2 channel to meet up players so i would like to initiate a meet up 2v2 channel and 2v2 guide and discussion on my discord server. Whether you are from US West, Europe, or Korean server, you can meet team play users!
Feel free to discuss about 2v2 strategies, and basic knowledge on the guide channel.
If this plan goes successfully with many users online, some volunteers and I will divide players by tier. We are excited to keep the 2v2 and team play community alive and hope to see you on the discord.

I don’t think it’s coming tbh. There’s no announcements/updates on it or any type of roadmap displaying where they’re at with it. We were told it’s coming in late 2018 early last year and now “sometime” in 2019. Very vague on their actual progress

There's still latency issues with 1v1 ladder. I can't see them fixing the latency issues with 2 extra players and a more limited player base.

I don’t think its coming either.Progress on the game has been glacial since release.They can just turn around and say there isnt the population to support it now.Of course many team gamers have quit the past 18 months as it became harder to find a game.
3v3 ladder would have a higher playerbase since that mode is very popular in Korea.It’d give the population one last boost outside Korea i feel.

3v3 ladder outside of korea (assuming they play 6 koreans) will have huuugee lag issues elsewhere on the world with 6 ppl coming from various locations. I personally never play 3s because its almost always tr8 and this is lame to play. It's even hard to get decent latency on 2s most of the time and I have the feeling this is why we don't have a 2s ladder yet. Need to fix latency issues first... but that, I don't know if it's doable without changing core things of how the game/networking is done. Not an expert on the matter, though.

Oh i’m not arguing about latency not being an issue.The pop outside of Korea is so spread out it’s inevitable.Just saying that on the Korean server there are 10x more 3/3 games than 2/2.Haven’t been able to actually join customs on there since the latency bar changes a year ago though, instant kicks.A sad situation all round.I haven’t played in months tbh.

Korean plays 2v2 privately. They don't host on public. That's why you get to see 3v3 rooms more than 2v2. And 2v2 streamers play 3v3 on public with their fans to keep up the relation between them and earn money(balloons) from the fans.
