Personally I'm satisfied with these. Basically you will be able to run SC: R on any computers (that are not from the Stone Age), and any computer you can buy today in stores easily meets even the recommended requirements. Most likely you will need something stronger if you want to play in 4K, but if you have a monitor that supports that resolution, you already have a more powerful computer.
Poll: Are you satisfied with the system requirements of SC:R?Yes, they are completely fine. (52) 53% I think the requirements are too high. (18) 18% I'm surprised Blizzard could make requirements that low. (13) 13% I'm disappointed I won't be able to run it on Win XP / 98... (13) 13% Other. (3) 3% 99 total votes Your vote: Are you satisfied with the system requirements of SC:R? (Vote): Yes, they are completely fine. (Vote): I think the requirements are too high. (Vote): I'm surprised Blizzard could make requirements that low. (Vote): I'm disappointed I won't be able to run it on Win XP / 98... (Vote): Other.

Any way to undo vote? I accidentally voted on "too high", but I wanted to click on "they are fine".

On the other hand, most of Blizzard games runs fine with Wine, including SC2. So I doubt there would be any major problem with SC:R.

Will it run on Intell HD Graphics 4600?

I'm not so happy about the fact that even 1.18 runs somewhat sluggishly on my i5-540m laptop.
I guess the new graphics engine is too demanding for the graphics chip integrated in this thing.
Still hoping they will optimize the performance in the future. I heard there is a directx renderer ready now but I don't know how to select it or if it is any faster than OpenGL.
Not sure if I will buy a new PC just for Brood War because
a) my old PC is perfect for everything else I do, and
b) I specifically bought it to play Brood War on because it has an analog video out, which my monitor requires to display 640 x 480 properly. I don't want to have 2 PCs just to be able to play both on Iccup and official servers.

I wonder how this works with the old graphics that can be enabled with F7 key. I imagine toasters should be able to run that.

That's strange. What graphics settings are you using?
I'm running 640 x 480 and full screen - vsync, bilinear filtering and fps cap all off.
Doing some more testing, where I feel the slowness is especially the mouse cursor. It's not that bad, but when I go from 1.18 to 1.16.1 the mouse cursor feels like a formula 1 car in comparison. It's just more direct. Both 1.18 and 1.16.1 seems to refresh a bit slowly when scrolling. And yeah the mouse sensitivity setting is off in 1.18.
I tried also now to use the inn built monitor and the mouse actually feels good then. Maybe it's the VGA component in my graphics setup slowing me down, and that I should pick up a cable for use with the digital out.

Once I get back from work, I'll tell you what I'm running, since I don't really remember.
