I started playing Starcraft when the ladder was already gone, and I only learned later about ICCUP. I think having a regional rank is much cooler than the sc2 division style ladder.

1) US/NA has just one server 2) MOTW, if it exists, will impact only ladder points and not the actual matchmaking/rating. | ||

And by very surprised, I mean like drop the glass of water staring mouth agape at the screen surprised. I'm fully expecting to hone their matchmaking either with in house tests, in the 1.18 patches/PTR, or a combination of both. A BW:R release without matchmaking would be a huge mistake. | ||

I certainly hope so too, their language doesn't make me feel super optimistic though. i mean it doesn't matter cause i'm still buying it day one, hah | ||

And to be honest I think it affects those of us that are more familiar with the game the least. We've got lots of good people to practice with already, and even without matchmaking it's pretty easy to just avoid people with weaker records if you're getting a bunch of way to easy games from newer players flooding in. That said, it would still be nice to always have games on ladder with players in close proximity to your own skill. You'd always be able to practice against better/worse players outside of ladder just from knowing guys from TL/discord/etc. I just wish they'd give me a darn date, wanna organize a big statewide LAN... but right now I don't know if it will be out in July or in November. | ||
