Hi guys,
Even though my FPS cap is set to 300, it never goes above 130.
Weird thing is, if I remove the cap FPS goes to constant 900+.
I want it to be 300 as 130 is not fast enough to catch all my commands but I dont want to go 900 and overwork CPU and GPU for nothing.
Anyone else has this?

Can the eye even detect a difference past 100?
|
it's not about the eye, it's about the commands getting registered at 270+ eapm.

1.18.2: "Improved command performance during extremely high APM - we are still optimizing so players with 300+ APM are recommended to turn off VSync and FPS cap so refresh rates can keep up with your actions"

Yes it can. I have a 144 hz monitor and I can tell the difference between 100 and 144.

Yes, you need thousands of FPS (and a sci-fi monitor to display it) before pretty much all visual problems are gone.
There are also often quirks in game engines like this which result in better gameplay at higher framerates even when not properly displayed

Brood war is animated at 24 FPS at the Fastest speed.

Can anyone provide a relevant answer?
Nobody has this problem ??

I have this problem. I don't play 1.18. That's your fix.

I imagine it's probably a bug. I have mine off, I think your cpu/gpu will be fine. I know they said their still working on the FPS cap problem.

Thanks guys for your feedback, I appreciate it.

You comment on threads without reading don't you?

Maybe I just don't get why it's important to have such a high fps when the game engine only renders animations at 24 fps?
|
Because when you have high apm, commands dont get registered as well when the 1.18 engine runs in low FPS:

Just play 1.16.1 on ICCup or Shieldbattery until Blizzard gets its shit together.

I've the same problem, with RTSS it shows 130fps cap untill i open another program like steam or blizzard launcher, once i've done that the fps cap raise to the right one set in the options. W T F

It was to 1.16, now its ulimited FPS, u can see it very easy by your eyes (and ofc also check by software way). The game engine is same but graphic engine is totally new. Example: go 1.16 take mouse coursor on minimap and move fast the camera box from left to right or smth, on 1.16 u will see this is like 1-3fps to move it from left to right side. Do same on 1.18 and check effect. On 1.18 u can see the camera box is goin very smoothly, you see box is goin on every pixel one by one in alooooooot more frames. Logical frames are also different thing.
