Don't get me wrong i would love it if they did something like that. I actually think the big 4 should do whatever they can to help the scene overall (which is why i was kinda disappointed that they won't participate in SSL). But at the same time they are basically streamers now and every hour not spent streaming is lost money. But sure if SC:R would be a hit and younger players would pick up the game, there would be a teamleague going on i would hope that TBLS use their star power to push that concept as hard as they can. The whole bw scene/industry surely knows that TBLS are incredibly important for the potential success of a new professional esports scene.

The stars will probably be the one's setting the terms. I dont see any team refusing to take flash even if he says he will do whatever he wants whenever he wants as longs as he will show up to the matches.

The whole bw scene/industry surely knows that TBLS are incredibly important for the potential success of a new professional esports scene. You really think they don't realize that them not participating would hurt them in the long-run? It is so short-sighted to suggest that the players are short-sighted. They all are aware that if the BW scene is healthy, they are going to have healthy streaming numbers. And what forbids them from streaming while in a team house? LoL SKT T1 streams all the time on twitch these days. They may stream less, or even more because in a team house they don't need to take care of real life stuff themselves (grocery, housekeeping, taxes whatever)

tl;dr: Lot of speculations ("teams are keeping an eye on the scene, writer mentioning that if leagues for BW come back then it'll natually lead to teams re-forming their respective teams, SKT and KT are denying that they'll form SC2 teams again but the 'industry experts' are saying that if leagues come back then SKT and KT will probably re-form their teams) On April 06 2017 10:09 duke91 wrote: And what forbids them from streaming while in a team house? As Jinro mentioned about NaDA, there are more solutions than a full return back to the old days of Kespas exact rules and organization. For a BW-scenet o blossom I'm convinced it would need something similar to Kespa, but if such a thing would be created then TBLS would be in positions of power and have a say during it's creation. I'm hoping Samsung goes back to Sponsor Stork, so he can stream and compete in their name. (MBC->Bisu, KT-> Flash etc) It'd be a small investment for a good safe market. And It could be a small first step to old and new teams coming up, as Jangbi and Fantasy could join in as well, and in the best of worlds a teamleague could grow out of this. I can see things go this way or some other way to the same goal, but I find it hard to see new talent coming up and having a chance to really compete. That's the biggest problem here. But I'll be happy if we ge justt another couple of years with some kind of BW pro scene.

But as Jinro pointed out there are surely other ways to make it work. I simply don't see JD ever being part of a teamhouse environment again. Helping new players out here and there? Yeah that seems more likely. But that's all more or less assumptions anyway, first there needs to be SC:R being a huge hit, then a new teamleague needs to start , etc.

Yeah that seems more likely. ya, while players have fond memories of being with others, I think there are many who didn't like the practice environment itself. Once someone taste freedom, it's hard to go imo. Will have to wait and see how SC:R ends up but I'm cautiously optimistic that maybe even a small PL can start up again.

Doubt it. It is impossible to enforce the best players not to stream because either 1) they won't join the team or 2) they would lose too much money. They will likely stream but try not to reveal any strategies. At best only players tendencies will be revealed, not complete strategies. It's just how nature works, figuring out how to balance stream income or leveraging that in negotiations with Corporate people is always a good problem to have. If this turns out great I think Broodwar will become a permanent fixture in Korean Culture from hereon out. The fact that blizzard intentionally attempted infanticide on broodwar by throwing so much money at SC2 and crippling even youtube videos of nevake and kespa licenses on organizers etc - still broodwar survived on one scv and rebuilt it's base. It just won't die and there wont be an SC3, I think some RTS hybrid with a different name will come out instead. We won guys lol

Hopefully StarCraft: Remastered brings in a lot of new users, and in conjunction with leagues and proteams, a healthy ecosystem can be recreated.

I'm sure the will among broadcasters, players, and possible proteams exists to remake a scene. Sponsors, though, are the bottleneck here. Are they willing to stake their sponsorship money on a game tainted by match fixing? Hard to say. So I can only be cautiously optimistic.

These guys have so much freedom now, there is no way they would go back into teamhouses i think. But yeah let's wait for a translation first I could see that. Unless, of course, a new generation starts off and starts improving under the practice regimen to the point where they start beating TBLS in events, forcing TBLS to either hop on the train or practice very focused.
