The version is not complete? Iccup didn't make the cut. Fish is becoming the official b.net server out of Kor, and they're going to have their own realm for US & Eur; based off what i can gather from their info releases. He's trying to connect to iccup via mca launcher. But his anti vir is alerting him (read about that since new most recent mca version, which is one of the reasons I didn't update it myself^^)
So now the players go on fish?

They removed the hotkeys binding? Back to pressing P to build a probe.......omfg. The key binding was the best improvement BW could have, without crashing balance. Oh well.... PS - Forget it, input keys is still at the game :D

I hope they will bring out a version with the custom hotkeys soon cause I want to keep playing! Yeah... Really hoping so too. I played so much more SC2 than BW in recent years so to be able to have somewhat of a hybrid in terms of controls would be ideal. This is one of the big reasons I was playing a ton when 1.18 came out. At the end of the day, there will always be third party programs that help you rebind stuff, but I would rather see Blizzard bite the bullet and commit to this. I'm certain this is the case as well. From what i can tell, this isn't really a controversial issue. I thought the 1.18 keybinds will be "suffice" for the time being, but I guess that can't be helped now.

I have a feeling that they will reintroduce rebinding hotkeys when they implement a less buggy version of it. As it was, you could bind abilities to m and s and then they would be overridden by the move and stop commands. I'm hoping they'll just work out the kinks and bring it back.
I posted this in the bnet thread, but I really appreciate how committed Blizzard is to keeping gameplay identical to how it's always been. However, the rebinding option has nothing but upside. Veterans likely won't use it because of muscle memory, so it's really just there for new players. Drawing in new players is a great thing.

So is there any word on whether or not this was just a technical issue or did the S. Korean overlords coerce Blizzard into not implementing custom hotkeys?
Really curious, because myself and many other people probably are going to lose all interest in SC: Remastered if they cannot even budge on adding such a trivial feature that's non-impacting on gameplay/balance.
I'd rather play versus swarmhosts the next 5 yrs than be forced to press M for marines and T for tanks.
It would be nice to get official word from Blizzard asap on whether or not they're committed to making SC:Remastered awesome or if they are going to cater to S. Korea only.
If it's the latter, i'm sure many people will be glad to know ahead of purchasing the game so that they can save their money instead for other games

The main problem here comes for people who actually wanna play bw and sc2 tbh. Like two different hotkey setups just messes with you.
|
I wonder if they'll add BW 1.18 to the Blizzard launcher. The later PTR versions were installed through an installer that looked straight from the B.net launcher. It would be nice for visibility if it was there instead of stuck in a damp corner of your B.net account support page.
|
Korean pros afaik arent opposed to the hotkey changes, so why would the larger korean community be? This is literally just a rumour as far as I can tell.
|
They just said that hotkey rebinds are not part of 1.18, not that they are cancelling the feature. And honestly if pressing M/P/O etc. is enough to make you not wanna play BW you are probably not gonna stick around for a long time anyway. If this is such a big deal you could also just remap your keyboard all together, granted you'd have to turn that on/off every time before you play BW.

Is the PTR down already? And the official servers are in 1.18?

PTR isnt down for me and a lot of other ppl,

Not down for me. Maybe you have the bug where it kicks you and you have to restart starcraft to be able to connect to the server?
|
maybe the key remap can be something so that newer ppl can catch up somewhat or develop mechanics faster i dunno but taking it out just feels like 5 steps backward again

When is the client going live? Any word on that?
