Assume you had a coffee mug that you owned for ages, it's all beaten-up and stained and maybe bit smelly and maybe the handle's missing etc., yet of course you love the thing. Now imagine if your girlfriend... Right, imagine if you had a girflriend. Then imagine if your girlfriend gets your mug cleaned, restored, repainted and stuff - all with the best intentions okay. And then she goes "hey now it looks great, it looks like new, I bet you're happy". And in this thread we observe the reaction that ensues. I fail to comprehend how Blizzard didn't expect this sorta reaction when they dumped the old UI. I can understand if the new UI lacked any functionality that the old UI had. That definitely warrants feedback.
However, I do think there is perhaps too much vitriol over the aesthetics of the new UI. They just made it consistent with the UI of the rest of the game, with the animations too. I personally thought that the old Bnet UI looked tacky and inconsistent with the UI in the rest of the game.
A background change would still be nice though. The cold, dark of space may be too cold and dark to hang out in.

I always thought the bnet UI made no sense design wise and wasn't consistent with the rest of the game. However, I was very much used to it and liked it in the end. I imagine other people complain for the same reason.

How do you stream this using OBS and window capture? IT only shows the outline of the BW window

When I start the game, my computer give really annoying high pitched sound that keeps going until I shut the program down.
Edit: after quick googling it appears to be insane refresh rate of the game, now I have to figure out how to force v-sync or lower rates.
Got it, fixed.

The pixelation is worse than the old BW graphics.. Yeah, it's so blurry for me Guys, that's what I thought, too. but when I went into NVIDIA Control Panel and checked on "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs" and set my Video to Fullscreen, my BW is back to what it is. And mouse sensitivity is not messed up anymore.
Wow it worked, thanks dude!

I just used game capture when I streamed it, is it giving you problems or something?

So only remastered will be integrated into the bnet launcher ?
|
woaa, so im trying, i have a huge latency with mouse cursor, so that's unplayable to me, the game seems to be more pixelized than before i don't know why.
apm counter and game timer look good on zerg im fine with it.

Okey i kinda dont undrestand why are they putting so much shit on the screen, I mean what was wrong with simple time and apm numbers without any background or hud integration. Also observer UI...woah, they could just fit all that stuff OGN MBC style in bottom right instead of covering half of the goddamn view.

I like the new UI so far, don't get the negativity since the old interface was aesthetically worse. Functionally there are some issues but I guess they will be fixed later eventually. Much bigger concern is the mouse movement issue, what's up with that?

Can you still run the game in a 640 * 480 resolution?
Does the main menu interface still work with 640 * 480?
|
Did Blizzard provide a legal download link yet, since the game is supposedly free with .18 ? I bought SC & BW when I was a kid but don't own the CD's anymore (probably burrowed somewhere in a pile of boxes) and I'd like to play again. Can somebody point me in the right direction ? Thanks alot !

I agree with all the negative feedback unfortunately. B.net feels dark and terrible, missing a lot of functionality (do hotkeys work even?), the old sounds and warm atmosphere were much better. The obs mode is taking up too much space, why can't we just have text on the game without the black background or those oversized frames? Etc...

+1 I don't like anything about this new patch. Why the hell Blizz thinks he can do whatever he wants without asking us. We never asked to change those things lol. At least they should give some choice to choose old/new menu. Also when you wanna build something the shadow of building looks different. APM meter looks like joke with that position. Sigh...
It is their game?

so i can't just download the patch? i have already BW installed, i never unistalled it

I like everything about the new UI other than the Observer pane. I hope can you move/resize it, because it's way too big.

I think it's more accurate to say that they threw away the old mug and just got a new one to replace it

mouse is laggish and slow, sensitive adjustment is not helping
