The "nostalgia" excuse is tired as hell, these sprites are just low quality. Blizzard needs to go back to the drawing board and delay the game if needed to do this right. | ||

ASL4 will be using remastered, rather waiting for it. I can only presume the same for the rest. So, I think this past ASL and this upcoming ATB are the only remaining tourneys that will be using the standard version. | ||

Even if they broadcast live using remastered (observer), it doesn't prevent players from using the standard version since both are compatible, it's the whole point. | ||

I gave some in the previous statement? Or you could go back further and look at what Blizzard did to Kespa's BW leagues after they made they same sort of statements about BW vs SC2? There's plenty of history behind this. | ||

My comment was regarding what we the viewers will see. Once remastered gets released, there is a high chance that any and all BW tournaments will be casting the game using the HD graphics, rather than the standard ones that we've watched for so long. My only hope is that the new gfx are close enough and look good enough in the final release so that we can enjoy the match rather than nitpick about some of the smaller changes. | ||

Like a lot of the nitpicking (it's too shiny! etc) has been a bit much but these things are just straight up different, and I thought that was against their mandate. The mutas popping too.. just everything in those gifs  | ||

The mutas popping too.. just everything in those gifs I watched and interview with the head designer(?) of the remaster somewhere on youtube, and he said that some sprites were not recoverable since the game is so old that Blizzard no longer had them. They had to make a lot of sprites and make them look like old bw or at least similar with HD. @edit BTW. Does anyone else have this feeling that it looks more like a game from 2003/2004 era rather then a new 2017 game? Maybe its just lightning or something but it looked rather graphically poor. | ||
