Why do the mutalisks look like a flying christmas tree with the weird lighting?

Also, holy shit.. who thought that making tanks die like nukes was a good idea.
wow, that's just amazing how that death animation ever got past the first discussion level at blizzard.

Any graphic designer can tell you that it is more time consuming to make new animations than fleshing out the old ones.) . Cant say that I am satisfied with the results.

I respectfully disagree. People need to be vocal about this because once the game gets shipped. changing animations are out of the question. This game deserves the harshest criticism on any potential change. Even if it is "just" changing graphics.

On closer inspection, the Marine death animation in the old gif is the same as the one in the new gif, but the blood decal was using the old BW decal as a placeholder. You can see how the end of the animation doesn't line up with the placeholder decal. They probably got around to replacing those placeholder decals since then. The same could be said for the Zergling death animation and blood decal. They definitely need more polish. In particular, I think the Marine's death animation and new blood decal looks too awkward being that wide and spread out. The Zergling blood decal needs a lot more polish. In fact, I think a lot of this needs a few passes of polish and feedback. However, I think it'll look better in full resolution instead of in low-quality gifs. The new sprites that they showed off several weeks ago looked decent enough.

I hope they also revert the changes to the edge of the Archon

I know those gifs are low resolution (Why though? Blizzard ran out of processing power for gifs??? Had only 1 second to render the gifs before posting?) but my god, do those death animations look awful. Marines dying look like exploding destructible rocks and zerglings dying reminds me of Diablo 2. And what happened to archons? I liked the intial archon animations, now they look like fluffy cotton balls.

I had a 486 and dial-up 20 years ago. Multiple gifs weren't a problem back then. You just had a to wait a few seconds. Though obviously not high res. I suspect that people might have upgraded their computers in the intervening 20 years even in poorer countries as if they can afford them then, they can afford them now, as well as better internet.

If these are the final units and animation I can only hope that I will be able to use the matchmaking ladder with the old graphics.

I think the gore of the remaster marines doesn't look bad it is just the shoulder pads / helmets tumbling down that makes it look silly. I'm really concerned about the zerg gore and the plasticy archons though.

Yeah, they need to slightly tone down the debris on those marine deaths, though it's interesting that they got team color into the animation.

Sorry about the bump, but is there a place where we can check SC Remastered new patch notes? Two days a week the game is updating, but no information available.

Anyone having ladder not recording their wins correctly?

Whenever i lose i get double loss in ladder info. My stats are 9-4 and ladder shows im 16-8.

Same here. When I go to my profile I have the correct stats but wrong MMR. When I go to the leaderbords for ladder I have the correct MMR but wrong stats (the stats is doubled).

I'm guessing they are trying to sort it out as we speak, lots of things buggy with Ranked.
