Hey I'm trying out broodwar, I haven't really played competitively before.
When I select an hotkey then press right click button, it doesn't allow me to select another hotkey for a little moment. It's hard to explain but if I just spam 5rclick-6rclick-7rclick quickly, it will not rally properly my hatcheries.
In sc2, let's say you have muta on 3 and lings on 1, you can just spam 1-3 and click somewhere and both control groups will go, as both were selected individually multiple times, but in bw there seems to be a delay. This slows me down quite a bit actually. I fast in star2 but I feel like my apm does not transfer properly to BW (obviously need more practice). Does anyone have an advice on that or do you really need to work around the delay and be slower when controlling your army?

in BW if you press keyboard and mouse at the same time,
keyboard input will be ignored.
you are spamming your right mouse button hence you could not select your hatch control groups as the spamming blocks your keyboard input
you have to press them in order correctly
5-rclick-6-rclick-7-rclick
theres a fix for it in mcalauncher if im not wrong

yeah the problem propably is that you actually have them pushed down simultaneously, when you actually should click one button first, and release it before clicking another one.

Thank you so much for this thread. I have this problem alot when doing 1a2a3a4a lol and my #2 control group never moves. I think its cause how fast I go from 1a2a to 3a4a.

im getting used to the control delay actually it isn't so bad, you just can't spam mindlessly
Also every time i finish a game my client crashes so it's hard for me to whisper people after games, Hola at me Attackzerg!

Will iCCup IPBan, Ban account, or ban CDKey? If it was Ban CDKey that wouldn't be a big deal as you can just get a different free one anytime, Account wouldn't be that big of a deal, IPBan would suck.

You don't even need a CD key to play on iccup and I'm pretty sure it's allowed on iccup, I didn't even know what that feature did until reading this thread.

hmm but don't you need a cdkey to install SC in the first place? Was just saying that any cdkey will work on iccup. :-P

Yep this delay exists and is another random problem associated with how old BW is. It was discussed a while back that you can alleviate most of the problem with expensive high-end equipment or a simple script.
You can learn you can separate your actions so they're clear and don't overlap but the game will always be working against you.

yeah oBlade I've been launching the game via mca64 and running the "Fix lost keyboard input" in the "ShittyPlugin" options. Seems to be working fine. It's mostly a question of habbit too. As LaStScan said, it's a question of rhythm!
