Micro/Macro allows for multiple players to play the game as a single player by segmenting the roles, while Team Melee allows for multiple players to play the game as a single player without any boundaries of the roles they can do. For example, two people can manage production in Team Melee, or control separate groups of armies to maximize its usage. Of course, Team Melee needs great co-ordination and communication since you can also end up getting in each other's way, but when utilized correctly, the potential for a well co-ordinated Team Melee far exceeds that of an ordinary Micro/Macro pairing. I remember interviews in the past when Team Melee was used for hardcore training versus individual players, and almost all of the time, the players playing together in Team Melee would often crush the sole player trying to hold his own versus multiple players. I believe FanTaSy would train in Team Melee settings (for the 2008~2009 Shinhan ProLeague finals) to replicate the experience of playing against a mechanically superior player in Jaedong. | ||
