Because i don’t remember seeing pros ever do that before remastered but maybe I’m just forgetting? Always possible, and they would be playing on LAN most of the time back then so definitely possible. It just wasn't as heavily pronounced, is my guess; mechanical creep is real. But there was* at least one famous clip of Bisu, I believe it was vs. Hwasin, from the KeSPA era out there somewhere.

A lot of things were discovered in the old days and never applied, but as time has gone on every minute advantage has been explored and applied as much as possible.

Most of the time only 2 will apply to a single target but there are technically 3 or something. Looks like our analogy with the siege tanks was incorrect. Firebats have a unique splash. But yes, it appears in most instances they will do 8 concussive damage (x2). Sometimes against large units they will do a third "splash" hit (if we are talking damage to a single target). They can also splash multiple enemies.

If you have the skill and resource to close a game out with carriers 70/30 from the position you’re in then you can make that 30/70 by going sairs. And 30% of the time you’ll conclude that sairs are good.

Mainly because of the heavy economic impact it has early in the game. However, in extreme lategame situations I can imaging it would be of great effect in breaking Terran pushes. But it’s micro intensive and would you be better of microing shuttles and templars?

What mod is this ? On October 18 2025 22:58 Timebon3s wrote: I think Corsair vs Terran is not good as shown by the Artosis vid. Mainly because of the heavy economic impact it has early in the game. True but I have seen shuttles getting shutdown before dropping or templars just dying upon landing

That was a pretty garbage game. Zerg is going to have a damn near 100% win rate if the Terran player doesn't cross the halfway point of the map for 10 minutes.

The Doom Zoom Fantasy Gulp always gets me. Got I hated his ass at that time. This was also the time where Jaedong showcased his 2 control group muta micro. Man he was such a force of nature.

What Jaedong did there was pretty revolutionary. Fantasy was also a Terran player that was getting an insane rise. And everyone was expecting the clash between him and Jaedong. (They never played before this game ) And while true about the 10 minutes timing thing. There was a lot of mindgames going. Jaedong opened lurker on this map. So is not like Fantasy was free to walk out as he pleases. When the first engament happened it was truly impressive cuz Jaedong used two different types of spells casters and made it work in a critical timing. Also take in consideration before remastered. Brood War didnt have an ingame timer. So you will follow timings based on buildings or supply. Is not like in today era of Remastered that there is a timer that helps a ton with keeping you on pace for everything. Anyway i think is a gem from the past.

Anyway i think is a gem from the past. 2008 was 10 years after the release of the game. I'm pretty sure people figured out that you didn't play 10 minutes no rush and expect to win within a few months of release. The fact that there weren't mutas harassing his base says that Fantasy was absolutely free to walk out as he pleased. Had he done any scouting, he'd have figured that out. Fantasy played the game like he had a plan to defend muta harassment and then counter attack and then his brain completely short circuited when the mutas didn't come.

Just watched it, that was pretty cool. Not sure if 3 hatchery play is viable these days, but that was 3 hatch lurker vs 2 rax academy...and Jaedong took it pretty easily. Don't think Zerg is a race where you can just pick one build all the time (at least vs Terran), and have consistent success unless you are absolutely insane at the game... Maybe the 2.5 hatch early 3rd where you take your 3rd base at 300 minerals instead of saving for mutas, then popping out 3 or 4 mutas to start instead of 6-7. Terran has to prepare for the mutas anyway, so it's kind of like Protoss taking early 3rds vs Terran while they have to prepare to defend tech plays with armory/ebay/academy. Was also wondering whether skip spire vs Terran would be viable, then all of a sudden you see ensnare from Jaedong. Ensnare effectively brings stimmed marines/firebats back to normal...negating stim really takes some of the punching power and mobility away from Terran bio 🤷♀️🤷♂️
