But no, let's continue to believe that Starcraft (or "war simulation", if you would prefer) leads people to do erratic, violent things, based on the vast pool of evidence that consists of one isolated incident, namely the actions of a sociopath. The "evidence" is based on common sense. To scientifically "prove" it would be an uphill battle because it would be extremely hard to control for. There is so much violence in music, television, movies, and the Internet (as this thread is an archetypal example of) that you can't isolate just one and say that's the cause. Which is why it is convenient for your argument to do so. Unfortunately that is not, and has never been, my point. Confirmation bias right here bro.

Wow no way.... I was such a fan of Luxery too.. The match fixing was terrible. And now this. Repulsive.

What a fucking coward. Grow a pair.

Never really liked this bastard, now I know he's just a piece of shit.
Anyone who would do this to their wife is the lowest kind of human.

Well I guess people love to judge. It doesn't cost anything even when you are wrong. i think most would agree that if somebody is making this up and it's not true, that person is pretty awful as well people don't always have a great sense of this kind of thing but i think it's not bad. nobody would believe it if stork's girlfriend came out with these sorts of accusations, but with luxury's wife, well, somehow there's a lot of credulity. do you think maybe that might have something to do with whether or not they present themselves as actually good people? i think it might. regardless, if the stories are proven to be false, it'll be the wife that's terrible, not him Well, world is usually not black and white. Maybe Luxury is the monster described in this article, maybe his girlfriend is an awful liar, maybe they are just both lame. We don't know. And seriously, we are not Korean justice, so we shouldn't care. I'ma bit skeptical about people getting on their high horses and start throwing insults when they have no idea what they are talking about. But as I said, we all feel better when we say that someone is terrible. And when we happen to be wrong, we are not the one being hurt, so why being any careful? Sarcasm apart, this gossipy ambiance is not doing any good to anybody. And certainly not to esports in general; I know netizens love scandals, but it should be fomos responsibility to be a little careful before destroying a bit more people's reputation. I call that a public lynchage. I guess it should be left to the Sun, to Bild, to Fox News and other crap medias. Esports deserves better than this.
I think that getting as much information as you can before making any judgement is great. However, that information/motives can be hypothesized given a certain amount of facts. We don't always need people to explicitly state it to know what they're thinking or why they did what they did.
Here are the facts: We know of Luxury's previous bad deed (match fixing). We know he was going to enter the military after being banned from progaming. He has gotten a letter from DoD saying that he does not have to do his military service (something along that line), meaning he does not want to do his military service. He married someone with an autoimmune disorder (basically a handicapped person) but has then abused her (this is a fact because Luxury has admitted this). His wife had to have surgery twice because of her condition and he had a toe infection from wearing shoes that are too small (this is also a fact from his wife's blog, I'm not including the motives/causes because they are opinions). In Korea, one could possibly avoid military service if they need to be home to take care of an ill person.
With only this much information and ignoring everything that might contain an opinion, I think it is extremely likely that the one conclusion we can get out of this is that Luxury married his wife for another reason aside from/besides love, and that is to possibly evade military service. Because his plans didn't work, he takes his anger out on his wife, whose "job" was to help him evade military work. In my books, he's already a douche bag for doing this, because a good person would not use someone's love to help themselves evade military service.
If you're still skeptical, step back for a moment and think about it. Would someone who threw matches for money and almost killed eSports marry a person, who is basically handicapped for the rest of their lives, out of love?

No, he has admitted to physically abusing a woman that has a serious life long medical issue that causes a lot of pain in itself. For that alone he is an unacceptable person and should have no ones respect. Wouldn't have mattered though. If she went into surgery twice because of his abuse the medical staff at that hospital would be able to detect physical abuse and testify towards it.

Why would love have anything to do with material things? I guess it's just the way you said it. If he loved her he sure wouldn't mind her illness. That's what love is. Maybe we're talking about the same thing here.

mmm... no... this is just wrong. it's obvious your perspective is pretty messed up when you use the phrase "get on their high horses" to describe people getting outraged at this. people are "get[ting] on their high horses" when they get outraged at people copying each other's homework, or flirting with strangers while they're in a committed relationship, or doing illegal drugs recreationally, not when they get outraged at people throwing acid in other people's faces and replacing life-saving pills with potentially life-ending ones. some outrage is justified - when people do really, really wrong shit. this is an example of that

Are you TRYING to tarnish every single bit of your reputation?

How disgraceful. To think someone would go through that much to avoid a mandatory service and take it out on someone else. He deserves to burn in hell.
