Then they should just switch to LoL... That's what you get when blizzard kills BW without making SC2 a worthy successor.
I wonder when sponsors will abandon SC2 due to the lack of interest among the audience in Korea.
Based on the fact that blizzard designers seem completely clueless as to what they want HotS to be, I don't even expect SC2 to last till LotV.
There's a pretty big Korean SC2 audience. (smaller than BW though) They're just all watching GOMTV.
Which they will likely continue to do after the switch happens. GOMTV right now has the best players, the best maps, and is much better at working with the community than KeSPA's ever been. KeSPA simply can't just mosey in to the SC2 scene on Flash's star power. They need to actually have the best players, not just players with a lot of potential who are expected to do well eventually. MVP is saying he beats Soulkey while off-racing as Zerg.
There is absolutely no reason for anyone to watch Proleague right now, unless they're a huge fan of a team or player specifically. And all those people are watching the hybrid format now. Seeing what a failure the hybrid format is (SPL is getting way worse crowds even than GSTL)....
They should have aligned Proleague either with the end of the last BW OSL or with the release of HotS, or both. They could have had a final Proleague in full BW, and have the hiatus between the end of that Proleague and the release of HotS for KeSPA players to practice SC2. When HotS hits, all SC2 metagame will be reset anyways, which is basically where KeSPA players are falling behind, giving them an even ground to GSL players and a good timing for them to start competing in SC2.
This was all basically very badly planned between KeSPA, GOM and Blizzard, which oddly enough was that supposed cooperation that made the KeSPA transition to SC2 possible.

Er I will say that MC/MVP have beaten other known code S players on ladder with their off races to. It's just ladder and him beating soulkey in a zvz isn't surprising.
This is dumb. I am glad there is still going to be some broodwar to watch, but it's not good BW. I feel that they need to pick one or the other, the integrity of the tournament is suffering from it.
I've spent the last several years of my life doing just broodwar, and I think it still will always have meaning. God bless Flash, jaedong, bisu, fantasy and stork on their missions from God for the future!
I don't know why people are complaining about the quality of the games. The BW players seem to be performing fine in SC2 considering they haven't been playing it for very long. They are certainly playing it at a much higher level than those criticizing them despite their lack of experience. And the BW matches are still a much higher level than any other leagues out there, so I don't see why people are complaining about the skill level in the Brood War sets. The strategies are still very strong, the only thing that's lacking is micro management (Which is understandable when playing two different games) and some of the choices of strategies (ex: 1 basing PvZ or a heavy Hydralisk break) make the games somewhat dull.

People are comparing current BW to BW two years ago, and that's the cause of the irritation.
SPL players have an excuse for not being good at SC2 (new, have to split their time), but that doesn't mean SPL SC2 is super entertaining to watch, even for SC2 fans.

I would preffer let them to die broodwar in peace than to make another season of torment for bw. If and prolly it will happen OSL become sc2 then its just sad to watch how bw need to share it greatness with sc2. Im trully fan of bw and i dont like this decision mostly because the level of the bw games dropped much since progamers need to practise both game in same time and thats not what i wish to watch.
I miss old times when i woke up at 4 am in my country just to watch bw games live... now i hardly watch them at all because of that mix. Jd is no longer jd, flash is no longer flash... they are no longer same players.
Why they cant make 2 different leagues for bw and sc2? People and players could choose what game to play/watch. Yeh, yeh i know... its all about $$. :/

Oh yeah, because players like Grrrr..., Garimto, Nal_Ra, Reach, Anytime, Bisu, Stork and Jangbi never won anything big ;p !
Its not that they didnt won anything.. but zerg and especially terran players archieved much more. There were 4? bonjwas if i remember good... 1 zerg 3 terrans (+ jd was very close to be 2nd zerg bonjwa i believe) while protosses even with bisu at his best times wasnt that close to be bonjwa.
Actually 4 Terrans and 1 Zerg.
Boxer, Nada, Oov, Savior, Flash.
And please Kespa let BW die in peace T_T. Kespa hurting Esports.
Duh ur right forgot about nada. :D

Well maybe its just me but i see big difference between games today and games 1-2 years ago. I agree that BW matches are still much higher lvl than any other leagues but IMO they are not what they used to be. They are higher than other leagues but not that high how they were before.
You know at this point, i would've just preferred an SC2 swap :/
I love BW just as much as the next guy on this section but at this point it's like some whiny ass guy trying to hold onto his highschool sweetheart after breaking up with her 6 times over the past 12 years
I don't like this at all. Not that i want BW completely gone, but this is more troublesome for the players and we've heard that many times already from the players.
