A single terran bonjwa from any era wins more titles than all the protoss kings of that same era. Terran is well-known as the easy path to bonjwahood.
protoss is the most epic race however, with Mantoss going Hero mode, The 3-3-7 Revolution and the 6 Dragons Era..
It's disrepectful to pro BW to drag it along like that. Let it end in glory at an OSL finals. The last BW match should be for more than a chance to take the SC2 series to an ACE.
The hybrid league isn't making BW fans happy. All it's doing is guaranteeing that the next proleague is going to be a disaster, because the SPL players still won't have caught up to the SPL players (and KeSPA's being stupid with the maps).
If people wanted to watch Proleague just because they liked SKT1 or Flash or whatever, the hybrid league wouldn't've been a failure. All they're doing is extending the amount of time for which it'll be the fourth best SC2 team league.

I am not going to wacht one single game of this season then, i watch just about every good cast, but i wont start watching sc1 now, just because i play sc2
i think its a huge mistake to delay the full transition, just because your players are bad.
It's not because they feel the players are too bad. It's because the fans will not show up if they do a full transition.
Fans aren't showing up NOW. A lot of BW fans have written PL off and are pretending the OSL is the last Brood War, and SC2 fans lost interest in SPL two weeks in.
It'll be really interesting to compare the crowd for the GSL finals next week (I think) to the crowd for the SPL finals.

They own the BW market 100% and their fans will come see those games, but there is no new sponsor interest and a bleak future to stay afloat. For the SC2 market, there are loads of sponsors and international opportunities, but the GSL, if you like it or not, is the face of Korean SC2. Even with OSL now having SC2 games, the attendance between GSL and the Hybrid Proleague/ODT is heavily in GSL's favor with the GOM Studio almost always packed for Code S/GSTL games now.
I haven't seen the ODT yet. Was it really empty?
I imagine the OSL games between GSL players and KeSPA players will have a big crowd; there's an obvious and cool storyline there. Past that, who knows.
The GSL, in addition to having the best players, is also way more responsive to community desires than KeSPA is. KeSPA can't keep acting like they're the only game in town.
BW fans don't want to watch players playing 20% BW 80% SC2, and SC2 fans don't want to watch Koreans who can't compete with the current Code S/Code A set.
The hybrid league was a bad idea from the start. Quite honestly it's a lose/lose situation and I honestly don't expect the next KESPA team league to consist of 8 teams anymore.
[edit] I feel like I'm being too honest right now. Honestly.
I dont agree that this is a bad choice. I think that the main problem for Kespa is that if they switch to SC2 noone is going to watch the proleague live and on tv. This will put the whole industry at risk. At least bw games will give the some viewership.
I don't follow the scene too much and I was hoping to ask some questions Is the OSL Finals not gonna happen/be a BO7 or something like that? How will the winners from the OSL RO4 face off?
On topic: The split Proleague is awful, and I don't watch it. They should have just let the OSL be the final match, and let everyone get focusing on their new game.

Then they should just switch to LoL... That's what you get when blizzard kills BW without making SC2 a worthy successor.
I wonder when sponsors will abandon SC2 due to the lack of interest among the audience in Korea.
Based on the fact that blizzard designers seem completely clueless as to what they want HotS to be, I don't even expect SC2 to last till LotV.

There's a pretty big Korean SC2 audience. (smaller than BW though) They're just all watching GOMTV.

Which they will likely continue to do after the switch happens. GOMTV right now has the best players, the best maps, and is much better at working with the community than KeSPA's ever been. KeSPA simply can't just mosey in to the SC2 scene on Flash's star power. They need to actually have the best players, not just players with a lot of potential who are expected to do well eventually. MVP is saying he beats Soulkey while off-racing as Zerg.
There is absolutely no reason for anyone to watch Proleague right now, unless they're a huge fan of a team or player specifically. And all those people are watching the hybrid format now. Seeing what a failure the hybrid format is (SPL is getting way worse crowds even than GSTL)....
Yeaaa!! at least few more games They should add a minileague with smaller prizepool for old b-teamers/practise partners... and to any progamer that doesn't want to switch.
