After much heated discussion, Kespa has announced today that until this season of SPL ends BW will still be a part of SPL, Kespa thinks that a switch to full SC2 will face many difficulties.

I'm glad they keep it. I know it's hard for players, but more BW is good. I still don't know what will do when there will be no BW left.

Difficulties more difficult than they are facing with the hybrid league? Maybe that are just scared that if OSL ends off with a bang people will want more of it, so they want it to pitter out with pathetic proleague games *conspiracy bisu*

Well, sorry, but I'll continue to not watch it. OSL is the last professional BW for me, their tactics won't phase me!

Well I was going to try to follow the all SC2 Proleague starting in round three. Idk if I'll watch anything from Kespa after the OSL Finals. Thats gonna be a special series. The level of BW play is gonna bottom out. Players will go cheese or do timing builds everg game while they amp up for the SC2 OSL and next year.

I would've preferred it go sc2 full time, with the final BW OSL wrapping up so soon it means the last taste of KeSPA broodwar is going to be a shitty bo3 (or 5 or however they are going to do it in the finals) before a sc2 bo3 and ace match. The OSL final seems like the only worthy send off to me, and now that won't happen.

Makes sense, because otherwise teams would have abused the alternating BW/SC2 player pick strategy in the second round, knowing that from the next round they will not have to follow this rule. Better finish the league by its initial rules.

edit: Also remember that the BW/SC2 alternation increases the presence of known good BW players like Bisu and Stork, who otherwise might struggle to even see many games in SC2-only, considering their transition is still far from their BW status.

I am not going to wacht one single game of this season then, i watch just about every good cast, but i wont start watching sc1 now, just because i play sc2

i think its a huge mistake to delay the full transition, just because your players are bad.

I like this to be fair. It's better for the league, and allows for no stupid table flip when it comes to results. A little worse for the players, and people will always QQ anyway, so screw it.

It's really difficult to say at this stage if this is a good decision or not, how the emotions will play out for fans and players alike. I would have preferred them just going to SC2 so that the OSL finals is the last BW games.

Better for both games in that you can get some crossover of fans watching both and may be intrigued to watch the "other" game (whether its BW or SC2).

Very bad for the players tough, this is afterall their job, especially since they still have to watch GSL pros rake in the money at tournaments both GSL and foreign while they are hamstrung by playing 2 different games.

I rather watch great BW or no BW, not half assed, we kinda prepared for it BW. And i bet the same goes for SC2 viewers, they dont want to watch half assed, half prepared SC2 either.
