I'm not gonna pretend I follow the Brood War seen, or did at one point because I don't and never did. But you should stop worrying about his references. I understand that the Brood War scene is still alive and kicking, but the fact is that growth has ceased and growth of SC2 is exponential. I'm not trying to make my case that one is better than the other, but all I'm saying is that Brood War is the "old days" for those now a part of the SC2 scene, and soon will be for everyone as growth has stopped. It's sad because it's such a great game, but it's only a matter of time.

its amazing how people are actually unsubscribing from him because hes putting up BW vods, personally I don't care what he says because hes not aware of the present scene, if hes doing these casts he should be but I can understand why hes not.

I won't comment on his motives or casting style, but the fact that he's doing this at all is really good for the BW community. Definitely going to bring in a lot of new watchers, if not players.

I know Jaedong is the Tyrant, but wasn't he known as the Tyrant Killer as well before that, or am I thinking of someone else?
I think HD mostly followed BW a while back, and is only vaguely aware of it now, and thus says out-of-date stuff. When I started getting back into BW, I mentioned corsair-reaver being like every over BW PvZ, and everyone looked at me funny

No he was called the 'legend killer' because as he bursted out of the scene, he has beaten all those legends of the actual 'old days' like Oov, ra, NaDa and etc. You (and HDStarCraft) must have confused the two nicknames.

Legend Killer early on. The Tyrant later.

JD was known as the Legend Killer, and the Tyrant. Combining them is kinda cool.

My interpretation: he wasn't saying that JD kills tyrants, he was saying that he is both a tyrant and a killer. Basically I think he meant the same thing as "killer tyrant", but said it the other way around.

Well that would be killing himself.... Same thing as Jaedong, the suicide Zerg lol
I prefer "Lord of Destruction" that the Chinese come up with.

I honestly really like his casts. They're perfect for noobs who don't really understand bw (me) but still watch it and would like to gain a better understanding.

Wow... i never watched brood wars pro gamers..now that i did i have to admit, they put all the SC2 pros to shame, i mean god damn! there was more going on in every single moment than i could follow even on the minimap! And SC1 had control group limit of 12 if i remember correct, and worker AI and pathing AI were a lot worse, you could not group select buildings...
these guys are incredible...

I like how the armies are in multiple patrols of units instead of one big ball of units going against each other (you could only select what 12 units in this game at a time? if i remember right)

THIS was the first true broodwar game i have ever seen. The only things that come close were a few games of SC2BW custom games but THIS... these players are GODLIKE (not actualy godlike but like the killstreak award godlike). I WANT MORE!!!!!
(Even better, get these players to play SC2BW. BW with better graphics = hoorah)

Epic match. Thanks for casting this HD. Please make pro Brood War a mainstay on your channel. I much prefer watching pro BW to SC2. Just much more interesting. Notice the lack of a 1-army ball. Multiple fronts and battles going on around the map. Skilled spell casting and macro. SC2 just does not have this level of excitement unfortunately.

They're saving it for HoTS. It's hive tech now
Anyway, it's nice to see more appreciation for BW. I doubt many of these people will be hardcore BW fans (not that it matters), but still. Maybe a few dozen more on ICCUP

Hive tech dude. HIVE! Better be 3 hatched hydra'd than playing a laggy schmuck and lost against 3 hatch +1 speedlings.

OT: more brood war with english commentary is never a bad thing.

I don't get why people don't understand that having a popular caster make 4 videos on broodwar that are each going to be seen by at least 60 000 people is the best thing that can happen to broodwar in the west. Last time I went to Iccup there were 1000 people online ( I just started to play broodwar "seriously" 2 weeks ago), even if only 50 people go to try the game after watching this this is great for broodwar.

Every little bit helps i guess Cheers HD!

I think he is referring to "back in the old days" from when HE used to play it. To be honest, the game has been out for over a decade and there is a new one out, cant believe people getting angry over that.
