This isn't true T-T I play sc2 at a relatively high level and I look at bw games for inspiration in strategies.

Angry BW fans are actually upset about his casting.
I can't see any downside to what he's doing, it brings fresh eyes onto BW; sure he might not be a top notch BW commentator and he might not be the most knowledgeable about the newest stuff on the scene but come on him calling his BW days "the good old days" isn't going to hurt ESPORTS or make us all lose our passion or some such.

i had 2 watch the game every1 is talking about even though i watched flash vs jaedong on tau cross like 10x. HD didnt do anything bad and his voice reminds me of cholera somewhat. i dunno what yall tripping about.

I believe thats only a very small part of people, the comments are generally very positive. I pity those SC2 fans who wont give BW a chance, they don't know what they are missing out man.
I think its awesome that a popular SC2 caster with a huge following starts doing BW games, even if hes not necessarily the best caster out there. Lot of newer sc2 fans understandably find korean vods hard to follow, so more english content is always good!

Maybe he should consider doing the occasional cast with someone who knows more about the current scene, like Sayle. BW still gets exposure on his channel, fans getting into BW via HD learn about other casters they could also follow, and HD himself doesn't have to make guesses about new strategies and players with whom he might not be as familiar, which will satisfy the hardcore BW crowd. Everyone wins.
I'm going to be really harsh here. I just watched Flash vs JD on Tau Cross, and that might have been one of the worst casts I've ever heard. I guess I could forgive that most of it was a boring lecture in how all the units work, since I'm not really the target audience for that. But the rest, the thing that was actually about the game was just... bleeh. "Flash is reinforcing with some big reinforcement!". No talk about strategy at all, just the general "wow, that's a lot of units!"-talk. All the sniggering at his own jokes.
But I guess it's a good thing as long as it brings more people to the BW-scene. If you're one of those people I would strongly suggest watching Sayle instead though. Or some old Cholera/Rice/Diggity.
Wow... i never watched brood wars pro gamers..now that i did i have to admit, they put all the SC2 pros to shame, i mean god damn! there was more going on in every single moment than i could follow even on the minimap! And SC1 had control group limit of 12 if i remember correct, and worker AI and pathing AI were a lot worse, you could not group select buildings...

I like how the armies are in multiple patrols of units instead of one big ball of units going against each other (you could only select what 12 units in this game at a time? if i remember right)

THIS was the first true broodwar game i have ever seen. The only things that come close were a few games of SC2BW custom games but THIS... these players are GODLIKE (not actualy godlike but like the killstreak award godlike). I WANT MORE!!!!!
(Even better, get these players to play SC2BW. BW with better graphics = hoorah)

Epic match. Thanks for casting this HD. Please make pro Brood War a mainstay on your channel. I much prefer watching pro BW to SC2. Just much more interesting. Notice the lack of a 1-army ball. Multiple fronts and battles going on around the map. Skilled spell casting and macro. SC2 just does not have this level of excitement unfortunately.

The fact that he gets criticized for doing small mistakes like saying that the goon range upgrade is 7 instead of 6 (or the other way around, can't remember) doesn't really encourage other popular SC2 people to do the same. I think it is awesome that he did this, and even though he isn't flawless, give the guy a break, he's giving BW more fans.
Well HD is entertaining but his main problem is saying nonsense about what's going on... And sadly, but obviously, it's even worse during BW games. Also, saying BW makes him nostalgic but keeping on mistaking SC2's unit for BW ones... So HD-esque. Whatever, it's a bit more fun than Korean casting, the occasional weird noise apart.

There really shouldn't be, it's not meant for you guys (hardcore BW fans) the audience it was meant for enjoyed it and projects like these might even bring new viewers over to BW. >80% of the posts shouldn't be people bitching about the job he's doing, the project isn't for you guys and if you can't just enjoy what he's doing then just don't bother watching his videos; there are tons of other BW vods you can watch on youtube.
