I am looking at the bo5 positively , not being able to field in your ace player twice means that every match , you have to make it count and if you win the match on that single map , the better chances you will win the whole game , Hence it's going to be interesting and coaches have to do extra work and home work so they can possibly use these bo5 to their team advantage . How can I see KT benefiting from the bo5 format ? Considering that Flash is still Flash and remains intact his previous form we have already a 75% chance of a single win , Mind can possibly win any players be it a Zerg,Protoss or terran , Stats is an overall match up player I believe he can pull us a win for kt too , hence we have already 3 aces to field in and that increases the chances of us surviving in the bo5 , although our zerg lines still need improvement . I believe action, Crazyhydra and hoejja are doing well under the woongjin coaches . So it wouldn't be a problem , who needs WL for kt to win , it doesn't change the fact that our roster these year is much better.

I have mixed feelings about winners league. It did often produce more games with crowd favorites, but in those seem cases took a little bit of the team out of a team competition. And now that I dont have OZ to root for anymore...my team wont NEED it. ^^

We've got individual leagues for that. Let's just hope for the sake of Bisu-fans hat he does make it in an individual league and that they will be able to see more than him demolishing mediocre zergs in PL. But as far as a team competition is concerned, it was really annoying to know from the get go that teams that are not SKT, KT, CJ don't stand a chance. It was annoying to know that once it got to the ace match, some of the teams insta-lost. It was annoying to be a Khan / Woongjin / Fox / STX fan (not ACE, we're all good). I bet it was annoying to be a CJ fan as well. And finally, as far as BO5 vs BO7 with ace goes, I would much rather see 4 (or even 5) very good matches instead of the considerable number of mediocre games a BO7 provides with, except for the ace match. Now i might be a rabid Bisu fan, but im telling you Jaedong is not a mediocre Zerg >.<

In any case, i understand the back-switch to Bo5 due to limited broadcast time, and additional exposure for new players + heavily favoring teams w S-class Ace would be a good reason to abolish Ace match... It just doesnt feel.. right.. Ace match is something seemingly unique to SPL, and i have always enjoyed it.. The marquee match-up of the day, no more >.< You can disagree all you want. The of the matter is the less BW the less EPIC games which is really where my statement comes from. I don't care if S-class is heavily favored in ace matches. I just want amazing games and more BW. ![]()

It's also a great time for players to shine, like Frozean (aka CuteAngel) all killing or even Hyuk (granted that was in STX cup). Might be interesting to shake up the standings but a bad idea overall because I really don't want to see two snipers in the deciding game, I want to see Flash vs. JD, or JD vs. Bisu, or Flash vs. Best ![]() I think the biggest motivation behind the abolishment of the Ace match was so that more players can have screen time. Ace match means that 20% of the players won't be able to play, and lack of match experience can really hurt rookies. Then theres the lack of broadcast time that forced the matches to be Bo5 instead of Bo7. Nevertheless, i still hate the fact that we no longer have Ace matches.

What isn't fine is calling Mind an Ace player.

Mind has only a 52% win rate career wise. 46% in PL09-10 and 53% last year. Mind is always more of a individual leaguer who plays well in a BoX and ruins Bisu fanboys' dreams. Makes no sense to field any player constantly (other than flash), you're really limiting yourself here. Swapping in and out players frequently (like what CJ does) based on their current performance - will be what we'll see all year imo. But less rookies definitely.
