Sadly it's still a terrible idea.
Yeah, i mean, unless you have a players like Flash and Stats...
Or Jaedong and Sea Or Hydra, Movie, and Effort Or Zero, Soulkey, and Light Or Bisu and Fantasy Or Stork and Jangbi Or Calm and Bogus

I wonder how many people will stay for both matches.
As opposed to when MBC and OGN used to stream games concurrently??
It's only a problem if they wish to watch both matches live (which is what I mentioned), you couldn't do that before when it was running concurrently. If they don't watch it live, it'll be the same as before. Go there, watch your team, go do whatever else and if you like watch the other matches online.

They struggle to find time to watch the games.

Well I suppose the reason is that before the games were held in a comfortable time slot, during which students had enough time to watch the games. Now they have a free block of time too short to really do anything with? I guess it would be more practical to watch games live for 3 hours at a time instead of 6 hours. However, it appears as if OGN's 1pm time slot is gone; they had to compensate somewhere by cramming 4 of the 6 matches on the weekend.

Guess we'll only see All-Kills in the STX Cup, that is if it's still running.
What's with everybody being clever in this thread. *laugh*
I choose to remain mainly annoyed with the changes. Nice article OpticalShot.

Yeah, KT was terrible rounds 1 and 2, then were in first place after double winners league. But they marched through the playoffs as a team, not being carried by flash (by.flash?). Without WL last year we wouldn't have seen that playoff run happen. That has always been why I liked winners league, it gave a chance to teams that were inconsistent but with good potential. With there only being 8 teams now and a much higher skill concentration we may no longer need WL.
Note: a cursory glance at my icon should explain my love of WL.

they should just swap it so that the sf2 games start at 16:00, and pl 18:00 or whatever.

Ace sets make matches more fair for teams that are top-heavy rather than deep. Source: nights spent weeping after entire rounds of Oz dying 1-3 every match.
I like the no ace match idea personally. I always thought it would be good for the teams if more players can get a chance to play and it will make it even more exciting when the top aces do end up matched against each other as it will be rarer.

But it wasn't even Flash that carried KT during WL... wasn't it Stats who led in AKs?

Winners league was a cool break, but in terms of their usual format, it wasn't usually the best move for keeping things competitive. Also, probably at least slightly bad for players' health.
Also yeah, none of this "hurting esports" bullshit please.
I just think the lack of an ace match takes away something, that feel of a closer. It's also going to reward teams to have more depth, but meh. I'd prefer an ace match always.
Oh hell, if they have one of those in Korea you'll have shitload of police blocking the riot, many fans raging and charging into the police for trying to break them up, and lots of camera shots from the press, just to capture the embarrassing moments.
