if they cared about toss they would have used the map in the challenge league prelim -_-

and haven't they learned their lesson from paradoxxx -_-

The new map doesn't seem to favor z since the 2nd gaz is enough near from main : With toss or terran you can put a gaz there and mining with like 6 or 7 peons ? it doesn't really matter if you wanted to put your peons in the minerals or the gaz, especially when you have a lot of peons.

FrozenArbiter so nostalgia=gaema=lt because of same centers? I think that u cant say that Dream of Balhae is equal to it only because of that center...And dont try to tell me that mains are same, i never see Valhalla with 2 gas

It would probably take 6/7scv or probe to mine it if the expansion is built right next to the natural's minerals. The concept of a natural gas further away is pretty clever, for race balancing. The mapmaker should also try it on a landmap with fairly easy to defend main/natural.
I wouldn´t call him stupid, but let´s just say he´s unlucky when thinking...

It's probably spelled almsot identically in korean AND the map is probably supposed to be from the same world -_-

actually I think I like the map... having the natural inside the main we can see from experience favours toss a lot, but making that gas further away favours zerg, since only they will be able to properly mine it, while at the same time semi-islands, particularly raised ground island like that where terran doesn't even need to float a building or use a scanner for vision to shoot into it is going to favour terran. I think it will be pretty fair.

Ehh? I thought in the other thread, Uhjoo called the map "Parhae's Dream", which is a reference to a period in Korean history. Google turns up this on it.

Dream of Balhae's gas distance allows for a 3 hatch Zerg to utilize the main's area better. But the negative for Zerg is the low cliff, which allows for early game punishment if 3 hatch. Should actually provide some nice early game micro.

Aside from the 2nd gas being most helpful for the Zerg, i think that the Zerg race has it the worst on this map. Where as Terran has it the easiest. Ofcourse this is just my initial assessment.

it looks bogus as a mother.. gunna be some boring mass-fest games there.

zvt = fast fast fast defiler drops

pvz = boring sair/reaver (unless zerg's go devours.. that could be chill)

tvp = sorry terran, you lose.

yay! map isn't that bad after all. :p

I think it looks okay...

Dunno if I am thinking correctly but could that gas be there too actually favour Protoss? cause P don't need second gas so fast, at least not in PvT. Obvious problem is then PvZ but most probable Z strategy would be 3 hatch + hydds and dropp right? So P just needs to go a fast expo to reaver/sair strategy and sacrifice some peons to maximize gas income which wont hurt the economy cause u almost always get too much minerals when u go this strategy on for example a normal map with regular geysers.

So basically you will just have to play it safe and take the other mains and hinder the Z from expanding, starving him. True or false?

Either way I can see how this is supposed to favour P =O

upps I thought you are talking about Alchemist v1.0:, but anyway fast exr -reaver sairs would also work on Dream of Balhae.

Then I'm sure it would also be used during the next Challenge League and Duel Tournament so that there won't be a lone protoss in the next Starleague.
