STX will be playing SKT on the 31st in the SPL playoffs.
Even though STX advanced as rank 2 and had a lot of time to prepare, their results in R5 wasn’t good, and their opponent is SKT who advanced all the way from the Ro6. In terms of momentum, STX seems to be the challenger instead.
It will be difficult for STX to play against the defending champions, but to realize their first trip to Gwang-An-Ri, STX is preparing well for the playoffs. Apparently, a lot of other teams are lending a helping hand to STX. Not only are they helping with practice over BattleNet, Samsung and eSTRO players even moved in to the STX house to practice with them.
Samsung provided Jangbi, Brave, Juni, and Chavi, and eSTRO provided Really, Classic, and Action to help STX practice. They’re living together with STX, and they’re helping as if it’s their own game.
STX’s head coach Kim says: “We tried a lot of practice methods, and to help get accustomed to different styles from different players, we’re practicing with other teams’ players. It’s a hard request, but these teams still accepted, which makes us very grateful.” He also said: “Especially the Samsung and eSTRO players, they came to our house to practice. Practicing online can’t compare to the effect that this will have, it will be great.”
In particular, help from Samsung’s dual Protosses Stork-Jangbi will be very useful to helping STX preparing for SKT’s dual Protosses Bisu-Best. In the STX house, the reporter saw Jangbi, and he said “If we’re going to help, we might as well come. This method will probably help STX even more.” Coach Kim joked: “These players are great, I’ll be sorry to let them go after this ends!”
SKT1 doesn't need people to come in and train for STX. Well, they could bring in Reach to represent Kal, Anytime for Shuttle, Yellow for Calm, and Ruby for "Cuteangel". That's all the practice they need for this overrated team.

I'd guess they will at least get invited at Kwangahnri, since it's such a big show they must be looking forward to being there even if they're not playing.
...but that's gonna happen only if STX will beat SKT...
Also a big thumbs up to coach Kim, even if he proved that he isn't as good of a coach at managing his players and lineups as say CJ's coach Cho or SKT's coach Park he is definitely doing a lot in the communications department.
Dang this speak of chicken bribes is getting me hungry... also tossgirl - oh imagine the things she could do with that apm... ahem. Anyways, sorry STX but SKT is going to take this (even though bisu has taken a beating).

None of which was ever on Team Liquid.
y'all know that Nazgul was a progamer too right? And Legionnaire? And Rekrul? [yes the latter two were mods but I think that still counts]

Lol against KT? That's rather optimistic. I'm an STX fan over SKT1 (love July) but I think they will get crushed out there. Barring some amazing turn-around in performance, STX looked so terrible during round 5 that I think they stand next to no chance against SKT1 who have been playing very solid.
Anyway, here's hoping for some good games

SKT1 vs KT finals!!!
Over-rated seems harsh, even for a fan-boy like you ;p. I doubt it will be close, but I think it'll be because of their stars recent slumps and not because the team isn't good. STX has possibly the deepest lineup of talent - they definitely did before Hwasin retired. Even as it stands they are the only team apart from SKT1 and WeMade who can field so many A and S class players.
Interesting to note that the article only says Jangbi is moving in and not Stork. I guess he's busy practicing for OSL : /
hmm I noticed that Stork wasn't on that list of progamers who moved to STX lol, I guess he elected to help out SKT instead since he has a good relationship with Bisu. Jangbi on the other hand.. haha, I can totally understand why he made this move, like getting denied a gold twice by Bisu, and constantly getting wrecked vs. SKT LOL

Actually that's probably because unlike Jangbi and the others, he still has OSL to worry about, so he is probably working on that instead of helping STX (especially considering that one of the upcoming OSL matches is vs Kal, so he wouldn't want to reveal his hand to STX).

eh, good point. Still, practicing w/ SKT would definitely give Stork some invaluable practice for his group.
Yeah why is STX coach so baller? He's buying everything from everyone, lol... We need more Hwaseung House with chicken bribes T_T that shyt is hilarious.

SKT buys players with money.
STX buys players with chicken.
Now we know the real reason why July left SKT for STX.

Only 7 players moved in with STX. The others also helped over bnet. Stork is specifically not one of the players who moved in, but is still mentioned as being very helpful, so it's not just 7 players helping.
And while 3 other teams aren't the world, given that there's only 12 active teams (and that's including ace, which is sort of different), 3 teams + stx is already 1/3rd of the proleague world. I was actually pretty surprised that the 3 teams would go so far to help stx beat skt. I really wonder what the politics/relationships are like behind the scenes. Or how much of an incentive stx paid out to arrange this.

Aren't estro and khan the teams who helped out stx a lot???? Thats 2+1 = 3, which is 1/4 of the active team isn't it???

i like how you go through all these lengths to show that SKT is better than them instead of just saying "hey we are in the finals and they are not. we beat wemade, cj, and stx to get there"

I don't doubt you would've done something similar if STX had won this round.

what do you mean similar? go around to each thread about SKT1 (there was only 1 actually) and bump it with a "HAH YOU GUYS LOST!" (which I wouldnt) or not properly point out my own team's successes when talking about their triumphs (which I was just pointing out that zona was talking about being better than 1/3 of the progaming world with this victory, when really they're better than 5/6 of it now and no one can really dispute that at all)?
STX had a lineup of a mediocre cuteangel who was performing rather well recently, and a noobfest of slumping A-class players, with the help of two of the worst teams in the game
they took both series to the ace match, and i'd say they did better than expected

Well it seems to be turning into an "us vs them" argument, which is always unproductive - but you're misrepresenting things. I don't know why you're so sensitive about any criticism about your team, but I haven't been intentionally trying to pick a fight with STX fans: I haven't posted at all in the short (and now short-lived) STX hype thread, and most of these other threads are ones involve news about how an SKT competitor is preparing for their matches which is something I wish to discuss. I did make a mistake above as to 2 teams helping, not 3 - but your accusation that I'm shitting on STX threads is entirely unfounded, feel free to retract it.
And just in case you're going to use my poke-fun thread as evidence, the reason it exists is because when I was putting together the SKT hype thread I searched for the old hype threads to consider the best aspects of what they included when writing my own, I found that particular CuteAngel pic, and felt compelled to use it for something. Realizing no STX fan had stepped up to write anything while every other playoff team had their own thread and using that pic as a starting point, things came together pretty easily after that.
STX didn't manage to hang on to victory after the defeat of Bisu and Best in day 2, they probably thought that they have already won.
Key match up I think is between Canata and CuteAngel, but Canata just out played his opponent, and Kal's duo shuttle + reaver sacrifice in the Ace match is just random, especially after gaining an advantage and knowing Fantasy's well prepared already...
