So I find occasionally when I am playing I tend to miss pressing important keys, like missing the U key for burrow lurkers and all my lurkers walk passively into the Terran army, while my fingers desperately search for the U key. This usually happens in clumps, I will go for a month where I press all of my keys fine, and then have like 2-3 days or something like that where I can't seem to press anything right.
Lol in fact today, in a zvt, I "mispressed" so many times it cost me the game. Some of these weren't exactly mispresses, but fall in the same category. First, I was about to put down my pool, it was a 3 hatch build so right after I spam 5sdsdsdsd to get 3 drones asap. However I did it too fast, i.e. before the pool even got down, and ended up doing a 12 hatch, 13 pool. Soon after, at 17 or so I built 2 overlords instead of one. Next, I get some mutas out (one of which turned out to be two scourge instead), and as I try to muta micro a bit, I miss pressing the H key and press G instead. This was followed by a final battle with some lurkers and lings, where I go for a decent surround/trap into the wall, in which I press pretty well every key except U for burrow, and almost all of my lurkers die. I actually still won that little battle but at that point I just gg'd because too many compiled mistakes and I was too behind.
Anyway, these little mistakes are actually starting to cost me games. I am wondering if any of you guys have these problems and what you do to fix em. I am probably just going to put a small piece of tape on the important keys, unless there is some other way to fix this.

I'm getting better with practice. But there are some hilarious conversations when I 2v2 and we try to type quickly.

I press p a lot instead of o for tanks . The other annoying part is when i go nnnnnnnn on a bunch of barracks....

I know you man I played one week tvp im zerg and my zvp suck
so first gas BR as zerg I press BE so I get confortable with terran hot keys then go back to zerg and then I was pressing BR lol
the partol instead siege is fucking anoying when you lose of that

I have my keyboard differently when I play starcraft and when I type on MSN/Forums or generally any typing I do. So often times if I forget to fix my keyboard I'll type like this.

Or at the start of a starcraft game instead of spamming sd I will be spamming sf or df or even we.
I also miss u for burrow and when I do rather than try to find it with my right hand I go back to my hotkeys and simply click burrow for the rest of that fight.

when ever i am about to click hatchery,i press S and it came out scourge instead ,i was like oh fuck it.
AND OL VISION IS DAMN IRRITATING,WHY ZERG HOTKEY IS SO HARD?????

Hmmm the most annoying things as Zerg must be... OVERLORD VISION!! Oh god, and I still don't know the hotkey. And I love sending my defilers to infiltrate the enemy bases and patrol around.

I do that too. Usually around my first decent size of lurkers I'll be checking my hatcheries, and find ovi sight-range 3/5's done. Often more than once I think the hotkey is A for antenna (right next to S for select larva). Frustrating. ^^

I've got silver electrical tape over 2468tiosvbm because they are my most used hotkeys for T. Takes about 15 minutes to do if you have a sharp knife and it helps. Whenever I push a key and nothing happens I glance down and can tell if my hands in the wrong pos and what button to push ect.

missing scans is the most annoying way to lose in bw ever. pressing 9s instead of 0s and not having the energy makes me want to kill things.

When I play Zerg, any matchup, I always end up getting the antenna upgrade at some point.
In a recent zvz(I chose random), I accidentally built two overlords after pool. This should be fatal in normal zvz; thankfully, the oppo was a simple D and I could proceed killing him with muta micro on bnet latency(no antihack)... only LT players are this forgiving.

I hate it when you go random, have your hand sitting on sd and you spawn as protoss and completely miss p. Sometimes i just start mashing the keys hoping a probe will build, which is pretty ridiculus considering I'm only 1 second into the game and I've already made a mistake =[.

the "U" key lost me games too. Tasteless' guide actually might help in this question. Use keys from a black and a white keyboard, and change the importnat keys as H, U to black. Also remove the unnecesarry keys, ofc you dont look at your keyboard while you play, but you eventually blink at it, and if some keys are so oustanding unkowingly you will press them with more accuracy.

I suggest you take some elmer's washable glue (in case you ever want to remove it) and put a dab on the key you're having trouble pressing (a second dab on top of the first one once the first dries if necessary).
This can help create an easily distinguishable shape to a key, which can allow you to find it quickly.
It's really useful on weird far-away keys like U for burrow and M for marine.
A more extreme method that would work even better would be to tape/glue something to the key, such as a piece of sand paper facing upwards or a small piece of metal or plastic or something.
This will give the key a very unique texture which'll be really easy for you to find.
I actually did this with the 0 and 1 keys on my keyboard not because I was missing them, but because my hands are now so used to the feel of it that they center around those points pretty constantly (0 for 0p9p8p), so I always know where everything on my keyboard is based on those two "anchor points."

Agreeing with this, I can't count the number of times when i go back to my base after persumably hatching 3 defilers or zome zerglings or whatever and seeing scourge there, it's quite irritating.

esp cus most of the u've moved ur tanks further in then where u wanna o (siedge) em
anyhow as for OP's question the key is ur anchor ur hand
msot of the time it's because ur hand is jumpnig from stuff like p to s or d or 1 or w.e that it causes problems
wat u have to do is find spots u wan to anchor ur hands to (get 2 spots, one of the elft keys and the other for the right keys) and then continuously use em
then things get a lot better

Try hotkeying your lurkers to 7 or 8. "u" button is right under it so you can't miss it.
I usually don't have an issue with missing "u" but it's definitely costly if you do miss it.

Usually fairly accurate (last test I took I had 98% or something like that). It's more that searching for the individual keys with my left hand only is kind of tricky.

I do that all the time as well, then usually cancel it half-way because I think it's not worth it. Actually thinking about it, burrow is really handy considering the cost and time it takes to upgrade There are like no builds that involve getting burrow @ some time I notice btw.

same, also burrow too because of when I think im clicked on a drone instead or something. I'm not sure how I always do it.
worst is when you trying to hit S for select larva when you are clicked on drones still.
