I just noticed that there is something called thrash metal, black metal, speed metal, etc (yes I know I'm a dumbass XD) and would like to learn what is that. However, I'm finding difficult to just surf on the web and type those names and get some retarded or confusing crap. So I'll ask the experts here to maybe tell me a little explanation of what each subgenre is and probably post one of your favorite songs that relate to it (requirement is: it's got to be badass!) Obituary- Slowly we Rot Thrash metal includes the early work of the most popular metal band of all time, Metallica, but it was before the black album. Better thrash comes off with stuff like Megadeth, Sacred Reich, Artillery, Testament, Overkill, Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, and there's some weird stuff like Merciless which is Death/Thrash. Newer stuff can be like Trivium which is like metalcore thrash. Be careful with thrash though, because most bands have albums that aren't considered Thrash. the best example is probably Metallica with Load, Reload, St. Anger, and the black album. AC/DC - Highway To Hell, Back In Black Black: Mercyful Fate - Evil King Diamond - Sleepless Nights Venom - In League With Satan, Black Metal, Welcome To Hell Bathory - One Rode To Asa Bay, Raise The Dead Gorgoroth - Incipit Satan, A World To Win MayheM - Freezing Moon Burzum - Dunkelheit, War, Lost Wisdom Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger Immortal - Sons Of Northern Darkness, In My Kingdom Cold All songs above are totally badass. These are only few examples of how good classical heavy metal/black metal really is. There are a lot more. I suggest for you to start from Gorgoroth - A World To Win. Then try rest. <3 Black Metal. I think the third video in OP is "Ruin" by Lamb of God, purely because it's green and the drummer looks like Adler right before Blythe says "this is the iron hand // this is the revolution" or something like that. Oh, god, I miss their old sound. The new stuff is okay (wtf is Redneck doing as a single when Requiem and Descending were so much better), but Gospel and BtP were amazing. Listened to some "classic heavy metal"... It's kinda meh to me. I can dig Pantera, and I can probably tolerate all that other stuff, but my dad used to always play Black Sabbath... geh. | ||
