This is a running update I'm doing; the first blog with some background info is here:http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/513060-start-of-the-ladder-grind
So, I decided to write this after I played 50 games and I think this is a good amount to do, works out about every 2 weeks (would of course like to play more though). I've been very happy with my progress and consistency; prior to beginning more focused practice I was more a player that bounced between 4700-4800, now it is solidly 4800-4900. My average MMR over the last 25 games (I used this because I pretty rapidly got out of my lowest point after I started playing consistently) was 4866, so I already achieved my first month's goal, and my peak MMR was 4944, almost my second month's goal.
In terms of actual gameplay, I have really started to see a difference in why I lose. I really have minimized a lot of mechanical issues that made me feel that I was really bad, and now I can fully focus on strategy and game plans (obviously I still have mechanical imperfections, but I feel that they are not the biggest impediment by any means at this time when compared to things like defending aggression and late game positioning). One frustrating thing is playing AUS players a lot, especially late night weekends, most frustrating thing ever. Something about my internet gives me 300 ping even though I'm west coast, and in ZvZ, that is extremely annoying. Otherwise, I feel that its just bringing my strategy up to a 5k MMR level, and I should get there pretty soon (maybe 2 more blog posts

Here is a graph of my MMR over the past 50 games:

The things I would like to see different in my next 50 games:
Less time between posts (more like 1 or 1 1/2 weeks)
4925 MMR in the last 25 games, as opposed to 4866
Less AUS opponents

Thanks for reading if you got this far, I really find this helpful when used along with my spreadsheet for tracking my progress and providing a sense of improvement.
Until next time,
Bonobo
