The first chapter was posted today. Set six years after Ninian's journey to the Keeper's temple in the Eternal City, we return to the Eternal City to find Diovanalth's capital (and the Empire itself) under the direction of Empress Viyadanye.
The Emperor has been engaged in a border skirmish with Bitar, leaving the management of Diovanalth to his wife and daughter.

The prologue follows Ninian's journey to the Eternal City. Ninian, an indigenous man native to the Girael forestlands bordering the Empire, comes to the city with a boy of Imperial descent, where the seer suffers a vision...

My introductory blog post was quite informal and probably an inadequate introduction to the novel. I have decided to take the time to outline it briefly here.
Infestation is a novel set in a fantasy world at a technological level similar to that of the Middle Ages. It primarily concerns itself with the Empire of Diovanalth and the peoples (the Keepers and the Raulan) populating the Girael forest. The Girael forest lines the banks of what is traditionally considered to be the Empire's eastern border: the Shorei River.
Religion and the supernatural are part of this world, however the prevailing opinion is that miracles are part of another, earlier time. Only the Keepers have seers who supposedly can predict the future. This is somewhat more accepted by Imperials than other claims, but for the most part the supernatural is considered to be part of the spiritual realm and does not belong in their everyday lives.
Feel free to comment on anything you wish. I will be continuing to post updates here as the chapters are posted on my site, with brief summaries like those above.

Could only read a bit atm, but seems very imaginative and interesting. I myself have been working on a political/fantasy novel the past few years. I actually use a very similar chapter heading format (POV Char, the exotic dates, Planet/Country/Building). I have around 500 pages completed, and only about 75% done, will need to cut a lot out sadly.
A published friend of mine gave me a tip that has helped tremendously the past year or so. He said when working on a large ambitious novel, there are two hats you wear: A writer's hat and an editor's hat. Never should they be worn together or chances are the novel will never get completed (I used to edit as I wrote, which took simply forever and ruined my creative flow and momentum). I'm sure you know this, but to any other possible writer's reading this, it is a good thing to remember. =]
Will finish the first chap. when I have some more free time, as the complexity of your world will require my full attention.

Thank you for the post! (I know I was a bit late to get to it uni was pretty busy last week and this kind of got put on the back burner.)
And yeah, I fall into that editing trap, too. My most productive time-frame i pushed out about 200 pages in a 3 month period but I've never been able to replicate that since.
Don't know if you're letting anyone read yours, but if you are, I'm always interested.
