So the new Nujabes album came out a few days ago, named "Spiritual State"
I highly recommend this album, as it's probably the last Nujabes album we will see for awhile, maybe in forever.
A lot of the tracks have a very raw feel to it, almost as if they went unfinished(RIP).. so it's definitely unique. It also goes by pretty quickly so you can listen to it during anytime of the day, or even when you're studying. Go give the album a listen and if you love it, support jazzhop and nujabes' vision.
Since Hydeout's new release, I decided to try mixing for the first time, featuring 2 tracks from Spiritual State.
01 Mabanua - Him feat. Tamala 02 Substantial feat Nujabes - Waiting For The Clouds 03 PDP - All I Need 04 Nujabes - Prayer 05 Noriko Kose - I Miss You 06 PackFM feat. Nomak - Lessons 07 Haz & Ta-ku - June 7th Beat 08 Himuki - Hold On feat. Sene 09 Eddie - Hey Cassie
Post other jazztracks here, or other mixes, I know alot of other people make them. I will also update this thread with new releases and other new artists/albums that people in this genre will be anticipating.
JazzHop is probably my favorite genre. The new Nujabes is good, but always remember to approach posthumous albums with caution as it may not be exactly how the artist wanted it.
That being said, there are some really good tracks on the cd. lokiM, Il listen to your mix throughout the day tomorrow and let you know how I like it.
Wow, I was wondering why you were talking about this being probably his last album so I did a little research and I must say, it feels pretty weird to discover you're listening to a dead artist's new album.
The early years of hip hop was constructed primarily from jazz, with groups like Gang Starr who provided a deep influence to aspiring MCs and DJs with the mixing of old jazz records + funk samples. This album is no exception, it doesn't give anything new to the genre, but every single track is flawless, and fits with the flow of the album. Marcus D keeps his stuff simple and very nujabes-ish, and Substantial keeps his usual inspirational message, along with his deep flow. Bop Alloy is easily 1 of the best albums in the past few years to come out of the genre.
Wow was not aware that a new album came out, which makes sense considering I didn't think he'd be physically able to do so anymore. Thanks for the awareness and classification of this neat genre
